I headed to the Bellezza Salon to get a much needed hair cut and color because I heard, word of mouth, about the amazing skills of stylist Mytsy Liaw. First, I was happy with the availability (got in within a week) -but I have a feeling it won't be long before folks are standing in line for this talented hair stylist and make-up artist. Most impressively, she made my fine, flat hair more voluminous than I had ever imagined and wove in the most natural, sun-kissed blonds. And, she gave me a great shaped-cut that will help me grow out my chin-length hair while avoid the dreaded awkward stage. Furthermore, she gave me such a great blow-out I had to go out that night to show it off even though it was a work night! I was so thrilled with the services and Mytsy's professional and high-end service that I scheduled a hair and make-up appointment before my head shots and engagement pics. Again, she made me look and feel so fabulous that I went out again on a "school night" to show off my look! Basically, Mytsy is your go to girl and I have mixed feelings even posting this because I would love to keep her to myself!!! She played up my best features and made me feel as special as any of her celeb clients. She comes highly recommended. I've seen her twice in the last month! I'm giving this place 2 starts because Belle was really sweet. Was going to the Entourage Premiere and After Party and I wanted to get my hair blown out and get lashes put on with just my eye make up done. I am not a fan of getting my whole face so I always chose to get just my eyes. My eye makeup..... Let's just say it was an obnoxious $75 for lashes and a smudge of eye shadow and uneven eye liner. I wanted a natural look with a hint of smokiness. I just got a silverish base and I have paid $35-40 for just eye make up and lashes that has came out amazing and would've paid $100 for that work. I was a little pissed when I got back to the room to really take a look on how my eye make up was and my eye liner wasn't even evenly done. I had to fix what I could and I didn't have time to sit there and have her fix it because the blow out was 50 minutes versus the 30-35minutes I was told when I made the appointment and I had two people blowing out my hair ! On top of That, When I walked down there earlier in the day to make the appointment, the girl said it was $65 for a blow out. And I was charged $75. Yes, a little pricey as a lot of other places charge $35-45 but I knew Where I was but expected class A work and got class D. I just didn't have the time to sit there and argue the $10 more that they actually charged me. So, in total I spent $150 on hair and makeup and I have no problem paying that but the work needs to match the price and it wasn't even close. There was a little miscommunication of how I wanted my hair to be. So Belle did in fact fix it to accommodate the look I wanted. I liked my hair after it was fixed. Maybe she was having an off day or something and I'm not too picky or had requested some crazy eye makeup but it just wasn't good. Very disappointed. read more

I was at The Beverly Hilton and had my roots colored at a salon there. The colorist dyed my light brown hair with dark, almost black roots. I knew there was a problem when he shampoo'd my hair 3 or 4 times and Then rushed me over to blow dry my hair after I said I didn't need a full blow dry, I just wanted to see the color. When I saw the color, I said that it was too dark and his reply was "no, it's not too dark, I like it like that" when I continued to complain he said, "don't worry it will wash out in 2 shampoos because it's not permanent. After it NOT washing out, I called to speak to the manager, She was not available so I explained the situation to the lady who answered the phone and she asked if I wanted him to correct it and I said that I did not want HIM to correct it, maybe someone else. She said she would explain to the manager and she would call me back the next day. The call never came. I was charged $160 to ruin my hair and now I have to pay someone else to correct it. read more

This is my first review and it's long over due. First, my initial impressions. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the modern look of the salon. I have been to many salons before and this is by far my best experience. If you ever want to feel what's like to be truly pampered, Bellezza is the place to go. How many salons out there have champagne and room service from the hotel upon request (even if it's for an extra charge) while having your hair done? I immediately ordered a glass of champagne to kick things off and ended one of my best salon experiences with a cosmopolitan! My first experience with the salon was with Mytsy as my stylist. Mytsy is great with cut and color and she really knows how to make a person look their most beautiful. I asked her to give me a new style that would compliment my face without cutting it too short and amazingly it turned out great. I always had dry and coarse hair due to the constant dying of my hair and Mytsy's recommendations on their hair products visibly improved my hair after just one week. She also gave me some easy and valuable tips on how to blow dry my hair since that's the part I hate the most. With her simple instructions, I discovered that I could easily maintain my hair daily as if I had just left the salon and look beautiful every single day of the week. How Bellezza differs from other salons is that sitting there for 2 to 3 hours doesn't feel like an eternity because Mytsy will keep you entertained with her unique sense of humor. One more thing.... This salon is 30 years behind, and they don't have any computers. They write down appointments in pencil, so they sometimes "accidentally" erase your appointments, causing all sorts of confusion when you show up for your appointment. Very frustrating and way behind the times. They don't have a website, either. There are a few photos of the salon on the hotel's website, but that's about it. To make matters worse, the receptionist is rude and loud, has a thick accent that is impossible to understand, and doesn't apologize for these mistakes. read more

Before finding this beautiful hair wizard I struggled finding someone who could color my hair without frying it death. I went to several expensive salons and my hair would be orange, or ashy, and always ended up fried, broken-off, and unhealthy. With Kelley's expertise my hair is blond, gorgeous, healthy and shiny! When I arrived I was greeted by the receptionist who had a big smile and very friendly excellent costumer service, she took my coat,handed me a robe and stated your stylist will be with you shortly. I had the privilege of going to the Bellezza Salon at the Beverly Hilton yesterday. I LOVED the experience! Most stylist grumble and complain about my long, thick hair. But they went after it and had all kinds of suggestions I've never heard. They cut in ways I hadn't seen before and were extremely intuitive to my lifestyle and preferences. I've never met with that type of service in a salon. Example: First thing that was said when I sat down: "you see how she has her hair clipped back? She doesn't like her hair in her face EVER, so never cut her hair below this point, making it to where she can't clip or pull it back." What?!?! As a matter of fact I despise having my hair in my face. Kudos to you, stylist! She was also able to tell that I'm very low maintenance and don't like to go to the salon often, so cuts and color need to be natural so I can keep it for a long time before going in. Me and my friend needed a blowout done to our hair we called downstairs to the hair salon asked for pricing and availability They told us blowout is $60 and they are available if we come right now. When we came in there my friend got some curls that's it I asked for a blowout I told the gentleman I have extensions in my hair. Please be careful with my hair if you do not know how to work with extensions please don't touch them he advised me he is a professional and he knows how to work with extensions on a daily basis. That was the biggest lie. He washed my hair so rough that extension on my left side had been drag down almost halfway when I got up I seen that I told him please don't touch it. I asked him for alcohol that will loosen up the bond and I could take it out so he could continue doing the blowout. He refused to give me any alcohol and he kept pulling on until I got out from my chair and told him to stop do not touch my hair also management and three other girls that work in that salon seen this happening nobody said anything to him nor try to stop him. As I sat down in my chair and try to fix it myself he comes from the back and pulls on it completely that caused it to rip my hair out he then asked me who does your extensions they did a bad job. I had him dry my hair and I left when I got to the counter my bill was $95 I asked what is this the manager reply this is for your brow out. I told her you you said it was $60 when we called why is it $95 now and you also ripped half of my hair out they did not care they charged me I have complained to the hotel manager and also Hilton honors nobody seems to care. While the price may be exorbitant for a hair cut, the service and experience are worth it. It may be one of the best cuts I've had in years. The staff are very professional and friendly. I have a LOT of hair, and the stylist worked tirelessly for an hour to meet my hair needs. I say, if you're in the area, go for it. Splurge on yourself. Called yesterday for a quote on a blowout, lady on the phone said $65 so I ended up going to a different location for the service. Today I wanted to freshen my hair with a little curl so I went to Bellezza salon. The lady added maybe added 10-12 curls in my hair and the service took a maximum of 20 minutes, maybe even less. As I was paying she told me the service was $60!!! I was speechless as I assumed this would've been maybe $20 just to add a few curls in my hair?? Let me mention that she did NOT wash or blowout my hair, just added some curls with a curling iron. I questioned the price but I did not fight it, as it is my fault for not specifically asking for the price before the service. This is something I could have done on my own for FREE and it would've looked better. Do not go to this salon, it's not clean any local hair salon is better. A good friend of mine recommended this place when she had her makeup and hair done for her wedding last year. I was a bit overwhelmed because of the location and all that but I was surprised by the low key atmosphere inside the salon, more surprising was that Sharon Osbourne was there! It seems that a lot of the celebrity types go there. I decided to get hi-lites and a new style and see if my boyfriend would notice anything different! It was expensive but worth it. So based on reviews here and elsewhere, I booked 2 appointments for daughter and myself last week while staying at the Beverly Hilton, where we had a family wedding. I booked a manicure for me, and a mani and brow wax for daughter. The manis were OK but took less than a half-hour (that's at $47 per mani). They used a fast-drying top coat over the creme polish, which causes the polish to pull back from the nail tips. They should know better. Daughter's brow waxing was a near-disaster- they put antibiotic cream on her WITHOUT ASKING IF THEY COULD. She is severely allergic to topical antibiotics of all types (this was the day of the wedding, folks). and with the burning and rash, it was not poissible to use makeup to cover up. Then the waxing lady saw me and told me I need my brows cleaned up a little. OK, I said. two seconds later, I was done and $40 poorer. To top it off, I had to buy 2 side combs for styling my hair. They were pretty and matched my outfit, and at $20, set with Swarovski rhinestones, not badly priced. But the first time I used them, one tooth broke off. When I took it back to Bellezza to exchange, they did not have a match, they wouldn't refund, and they wouldn't order me a replacement and ship to me. If I didn't have a leg injury, I would have gone to Jessica Nail Clinic, like I always do when in LA. Next time I'll take a cab back to Jessica's and find a competent waxer for daughter.
