I started seeing Shelley last year after seeing a friend's glowing complexion one evening at a girls' dinner. The first thing Shelley said to me when she saw me THE VERY FIRST TIME was, "You're very dry." Yes, that's was the first greeting. Was it jarring? Absolutely. Did it make me chuckle? Absolutely. Was she correct? 100%. I've read some of the negative reviews for Shelley here, and I totally understand if you're expecting the usual "spa" experience where there's a lot more pampering, she may not be your cup of tea. HOWEVER, if you want to get real serious about your skin and experience the transformation that I've seen in my face in the last 9 months, Shelley's your gal. I appreciate her directness and honesty. And yes, the product suggestions are for YOUR own benefit. Please don't confuse her directness and suggestions as pressure to purchase. I waited a few sessions in, and only when I was near the end of my own supply of products that I decided to give her products a try, but only because she had been using it on my skin since the beginning and I was seeing positive results. I'm constantly asking her what products she's applying to my face (during the facial) and have learned so much about oil vs water based products and what's best for MY skin. At the end of the day, I'm paying less with Shelley for the products that actually work on my skin vs the one-size-fit-all products from any fancy beauty counter. In summary, it's a no-nonsense experience for those who really want to see their skin transform for the better. read more

I had been dealing with issues with my skin for awhile and wanted to find an esthetician I could work with that could give personalized advice around my skin care regimen. I didn't know where to look though so I started buying random groupon facials and after 4 unsuccessful facials I found Shelley. Shelley immediately asked me what I was looking for and gave me feedback on how my skin looked and her best guesses why. By the end of the session, she told me to come in again and bring in all my products I used so she could see which ones are actually good for my skin vs not, which was the exact type of input and expertise I had been searching for. The other spa facials I got did do a bit more pampering, but it was just a blanket facial they give to anyone despite your skin type and needs. It didn't improve my skin (and sometimes even damaged it more). Whereas, Shelley brought the personalized experience to actually improve and achieve my skin goals. If you are looking for an esthetician who will actually work *with* you for your skin goals, Shelley is the person to go for. In 6 months, not only has my acne disappeared, but I also have a full comprehensive skincare regimen based on my skins needs that Shelley built for me. Bonus points for her always being easy to talk to and giving free samples of new products she thinks will be good for my skin. read more

I wouldn't recommend this location for a facial. This is the low quality product that was used on my skin. I verified with the lady that did my facial that she did use this product and she confirmed. This product is rated very low because of how toxic it is. It's cheap and there's nothing in it that I would have expected by a professional service. Definitely will inquire next time I get a facial to ensure they are using high quality products. read more

Bellevue Massage and Spa - Day Spas Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

I purchased two facials online. I assumed based on the hours listed I would be able to schedule the two facials on my days off (Monday or Saturday) because according to their website they're open on those days. as I went to schedule the facials through their online booking service, I found out they only have very minimal times available Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 4. I thought maybe it was either booked out or a mistake so I wanted to try to call. Between Yelp, their own website, and google maps there are 3 diff numbers listed and NONE of the listed phone numbers are in service. There isn't an email listed to try to resolve my issue and they don't have the message function on Yelp available either. Luckily I was able to cancel my purchase and get my money back. I will definitely be going elsewhere. I'm not sure how they expect to get anyone's business with all of these issues read more

When I think of a spa, I envision a place with a quiet waiting room, soothing music and a space where I can relax. The Bellevue Massage & Spa's new location is not that. Nor do they have a dressing room, let alone their own bathroom, to clean up after your appointment. Yesterday, I went in for a Swedish Massage that I booked online. I was told that I was going to receive a relaxing massage, and while I did relax... the knots that I was hoping would get worked out of my neck and back are still there. It was a bit of a cluster after my appointment to pay (I had an expired Groupon, which should be nothing new or complicated.) and it took three people to figure it out. I will not be returning. read more

This was an unexpected gift! The spa is tucked away in Bellewood Office Park in West Bellevue. Shelley was very professional and knowledgeable. My facial was relaxing, restorative and enjoyable. I could see benefits right away. I am confident that continuing the series of facials I have now booked will do wonders for my skin. read more

Shelly is very good at what she does. I've visited this place for brazillian wax many times and not once my skin felt any discomfort like i had sometimes at other places. The estheticians here really know what they are doing, knowledgeable and very friendly. Definitely recommend this place!!! read more

Similar to other customers, I was not greeted upon entering, not introduced to my esthetician, and the overall feel of customer service was very unprofessional. My facialist was not prepared and would continuously leave the room to gather products. In my previous experiences with facials, the esthetician will massage your face, neck, and shoulders- but at this particular spa, facial massaging was minimal, she didn't even bother to turn on the facial steamer, and basically would put a mask on my face and leave the room for 10-15 minutes at a time (I could hear her talking outside with the receptionist). Then she would come back in the room, apply another mask, and leave again. If I just wanted to wear a facial mask for an hour, I could've done that myself at home. read more

I've been seeing Shelly for facials for almost two years now. She is all about learning your skin and helping you toward long-term manageability. I used to have very problematic skin and was playing a constant game of cat and mouse with my routine. Since I've been seeing her, Shelly has helped me stay one step ahead of my skin problems and build a routine that lasts. I don't remember the last time I had to worry about my skin! read more

How many stars should I give to a place if people never show up for the service? I called this place to schedule an appointment for a brazilian wax, was going on vacation in three days and needed to make sure I will get my brazilian wax before . Lady on a phone confirmed that they have an available time slot and they will wait for me. I repeated date and time few times to avoid any confusion. Newer the less when I showed up next day 10 minutes before the place was locked. I called many times-no answer. Manager from the office next door said she had the same situation with her massage week before. I waited for a half hour and left. Never received call back. read more

I've been with Shelley for more than a year now. I love her approach - nothing is impossible for her. Any issue is resolvable with right technique (machine) and right set of customized harmful-ingredient-free products. Especially I appreciate that she keeps learning new approaches and improving everything she does. Today my skin is clean, pores are significantly less deep, and almost not oily at all. The only breakouts I have - happen when I eat cake or junk food. Then I know this comes from the inside not from skin and it is time to get on juices and greens again. All this is because of intense and dedicated treatment plan and continuous adjustments to daily routine that Shelly is great at. read more

I became a client of Shelleys' when I received a giftcard to Bellevue Massage & Spa. I've been a client ever since. I have acne (at the age of 31!) and a high stress career and experience frequent breakouts. I've only been a few times but already see a difference. She individualizes the entire process for me and does what really makes sense for my skin...it's not a cookie cutter approach like some places do. She also really cares and has provided me with free samples to try out at home! She is honest about my skin issues which I do not take offense to...in fact, born and raised in New York, I find it very refreshing and that's why I'm here...to fix my skin issues. Music is always calming and room is always a nice temperature. I'll be back for sure! read more

Would surely recommend! I've been going to Shelley for almost 3yrs now! I found her initially on Groupon when I first moved to the area. Now, I go every month and get a facial. I buy a package of 3 facials at a time(it saves a little $ to do it that way). I can tell the difference between the old facials I used to get compared to the ones I get here now. I do know Shelley keeps up on the latest technology and products in the Spa world as she regularly attends shows/classes not only in US but in Canada too! I figured it's about tone to give her a review & I even send my mom to Shelley when she's visiting from out of state! I actually just bought this: Mother's Day Special - Lavender Facial Package, for my mom to use when she comes out next!!! Thanks Shelley for always being so professional! read more

I bought a facial from them on groupon and could never get a hold of anyone. The details on the deal said call this phone number but they do not return calls. The link to their site from groupon also was broken. I tried to reach out several times over months to contact someone. I tried making an appointment online as indicated on their voicemail message but there was no field for a code or to state that it was for a groupon and already paid for. I will be calling groupon for a refund. But seriously what kind of business doesn't call someone back who has repeatedly left messages. Bad customer service. And would you really trust people with your appearance who cannot even simply pickup and dial someone back? read more

This is an amazing Spa! I had a facial at the Spa which was perfectly fine but not exactly what I expected or thought I was getting. The owner took the time to inquire about the service and not only did she offer a refund but insisted on providing me with another facial. The facial she gave me was one of the best I had ever received. Because the facial was so wonderful I am booking monthly facials with her. My skin feels fabulous. Thank you so much for providing me with such incredible customer service on top of a fabulous facial. read more

I went to see Shelley at Bellevue Massage and Spa after receiving a recommendation from a friend. So far I have received two IPL facials and have been really happy with the results. Prior to coming here I was dealing with some terrible postpartum breakouts and was having a hard time healing my skin. After receiving the two facials and strictly using the skin care products Shelley recommended my skin has healed and has looked amazing for the last 4 weeks. It is great to find someone who takes an individualized approach to skin care and can recommend the type of products I need for my skin type. I am looking forward to my next facial and hope to see even more improvement in my complexion. read more

My sisters and I come to this beautiful salon every time we get to Bellevue. Not only is Shelly, the owner, knowledgeable and friendly, but her staff can be counted on to give you the best service. I had a facial from Jen and I feel like a new person. They apply multiple layers of fine products and make sure you don't feel rushed. What a day for pampering! THANK YOU SHELLY AND JEN!!! See you next time I'm in Bellevue! read more

I purchased Groupon to try the facial, Shelly noticed my brown spots so she recommend plan for the treatment. She is friendly and honest. After the treatments, my skin improved overall from uneven color tone. some spots are gone completely, some need further treatments. I have tried IPL and other topical creams, none of them worked. Glad I finally found something that can help to reduce brown spots. read more

This spa is horrible, save your money. Do not buy the groupon for this business. Very unprofessional and first time I have had a horrible spa experience. Said 1 hour massage and she gave me a 20 minute massage then proceeded to give me a facial and used needles to get white heads. Slathered lotion on my eyes and she knew I was wearing contacts. Had to pull my contact out after I left and had to drive home with 1 contact. She talked the whole time it was cold and she left the room more than she should have. Save your money people! read more

I went for a facial, 60 minute purchase via groupon, and it was a poor experience I felt. As soon as I walked in I wasn't greater/acknowledged right away as the individual at the front desk was on the phone. A few minutes later she asked if I was there for the "groupon facial" and asked for the voucher. I completed the release forms as she asked while she remained on the phone. Shortly after she went to the room where the session will take place to prepare it. Fast forward to session time, bed/table was cold, she was not prepared with her material. The room had no sink, which I assume why she wasted 30% of the session time going in and out of the room to get material/tools . Once the session started, she kept criticizing my skin- which I thought was very normal and fine. She claims my pores were totally clogged and suggested I "buy" xyz from her to help. She also said I had blackheads everywhere -I never even noticed any- and that I should "buy" xyz from her to help. She also said, she can do very little in one session to help me and that I need to come back for more sessions! Overall, the session was stressful and not enjoyable. I felt pressured to also come back and buy more sessions. She showed me pics of current clients with sever skin issues and said my skin will become this damaged if I don't take care of it- WTH! She never mentioned her name until I asked prior to leaving - Shelly- she was the front desk person and the technician as well. I think she might need to hire someone to take care of her phone/front desk. Invest in a different facility where there is a sink in the room the session is taking place , and lastly work on her presentation . read more

I had the best experience! I got a Brazilian from Shelley. She was so nice when I made the appointment and happy to fit me in the day I wanted. This is my third time going to the spa, and now my hair barely grows back because of the anti bacterial wax they use! She did it in a way that did not hurt as much, and the hair was taken by it's root so it lasted longer. I generally have darker hair and it grows quickly, but since I started going it does not grow as quickly or as heavy! I also got a eyebrow wax and it looks great too! Great experience, I am definitely going only there from now on. Everyone is so nice and it was a clean spa! I am very impressed! read more

I should have written this a month ago. So, I got a groupon for a facial, and I could choose any, but what I needed was not listed in any description on the website. Anyway, I chose deep pore cleansing, and I told Shelley that I also needed extractions, as I have milia. Because of this problem facials are never pleasant for me, I can't fully relax, extractions hurt and the light is too bright for my eyes. However, this was the first place i could actually enjoy the facial. Shelley did it so well. As for the bad reviews, I want to say that I got a blanket, there was a relaxing music similar to music in other spa salons, I got undressed in the room I had facial, and I could use the bathroom after it. Maybe they took into account all the bad reviews and changed some things. Anyway, I'm returning soon to extract the remaining milia, again with Shelley. read more

I've been going to Shelley for massages for the past few years now. Shelley is an excellent masseuse and I like her as well for the following:1.She keeps the appointment time. If I book for 60 minutes massage, I can count on Shelley for giving me 60 minutes massage when I book an hour massage, not 50 minutes like some famous massage chain. At occasions she even gives me extra time, if she happens to have time gap until the next appointment. 2.She works on providing good service. One time her admin messed up her calendar and I ended up going to her spa for a massage appointment that never showed up in her calendar, despite my receiving email confirmation for it. Shelley graciously offers me a free facial to make up for my wasted efforts to go to her spa, she apologizes for the admin's mistake and she quickly books another massage appointment for me. read more

I found Massage and spa through groupon . I had hyperpigmentation ,black heads and constant problem with acne. Shelley was friendly and knowledgeable. She created the plan based on my individual needs. I had microneedling and peelings and she also recommended skin products that would work for me. I am very pleased with results. My skin is glowing ,I don't see black heads and my brown spots almost disappeared. I get a lot of compliments from my coworkers and even a dermatologist. I would highly recommend Shelley to anyone I know. I believe she is truly concerned for your health and positive outcome for you. Thanks so much Shelley. read more

I had a facial with Shelley and nearly ran out the door halfway through it. I'm on the table, and she turns the facial lights on. She says my face is red and asks "what is that?" I have olive skin and rarely get redness, so I say "I don't know, but it's 80 degrees outside, I might just be flushed from the heat and my morning run." Earlier she had asked me what my skin concerns were. I say I have oily skin and therefore some clogged pores on my nose and chin. Halfway through the facial, she wipes off the masque and examines my nose and chin and says: "Blackheads! Oh my, my my" in this scolding tone. During the entire facial she's peppering me with questions in that same scolding tone. (I just want to relax after a crazy work week.) She asks about my skincare routine. I say I use prescription Retin A, mineral sunscreens, and -- she cuts me off to proclaim that Retin A is bad for the skin, despite the fact that dermatologists, doctors, and aestheticians have been recommending it for years, calling it the "gold standard" in anti-aging. She says instead I should do some "needling" procedure instead and buy some collagen products from her. Sure I bet that's all great and it's also very expensive. She keeps going at me for using Retin A for the rest of the facial. I don't respond. At one point when she leaves the room. I fantasize about getting up and running out. After she slathers on what feels like another masque, she says, I'm done. But there's this heavy layer of white stuff on my face! I can see it in the mirror. I leave with my face feeling like an oil slick (and getting one more jab about using Retin A). In my car, I wipe the gunk off, apply my mineral sunscreen, and hightail it out of the parking lot. The least relaxing spa treatment I have EVER had. Ugh! read more
