Love their root beer. Burgers taste good. Service was great. My daughter loved it. Will be coming back and hopefully be able to improve rating. First time we came on a Friday night, around 8 or so, and the place was empty. I ordered the Outlaw burger. I don't know if the order was put in wrong, if it was made wrong, or if my expectations were wrong. It sure seemed like just a regular burger instead of the half-pound burger described. (-1) Nearing the end of our meal, we were told the card machine was down (of course, this has no bearing on the rating because their hands are tied on that). My cash was limited. The manager was very apologetic and was willing to take the cash I had. I didn't feel right about that since it wouldn't cover our bill. Thankfully he took a check so I could pay for it all. Second time we came was last night, a Saturday around 6:30. I expected it to be busier than our first visit, but the place was packed. It looked like 3 families before us when we walked in, and one left because they didn't want to wait. Not unreasonable, so we decided to stay. We were told the wait would be 20-30 minutes. Again, not unreasonable, so we decided to stay. About 10-15 minutes later someone came up and told us it would be at least an hour and a half before the next table would be available because the kitchen was so backed up. Needless to say, we left and I took my son to Five Guys for his burger fix. This lost a star simply because they should have told us that to begin with. PROS: Burgers are delicious.The Chicken sandwiches are great as well. Get the Onion rings instead of the fries. There are many places where the patty is good but the bun is either too sweet or mammoths the burger. Here the buns are soft, sized right, lightly buttered and lightly grilled and complement the patty and the fixin's. When you take a bite your teeth sink into the bread without being overbearing and right into the meat...the timing is perfect. The first time you take a bite, you end up taking another bite just to remind you that this is the real deal Grass fed beef is a great alternative to the ronnie mc donald hormone and chemical laden patties. I have a little angel on my left shoulder telling me to give this place a better review. Yes, it's a very good burger. But I can't decide if it's overpriced or not. The angel is telling me that you can't put a price on a good burger. And $6 isn't that much, you cheapskate. But I tell him that I can get a burger just as good or better at The Common Ground, James Gate, or RF O'Sullivan's for just a dollar or two more. And that burger will come with fries and be served to you in a nice pub setting. You don't have to stand in line at a counter to order and look at some cheesy chuck wagon wheel decor. And just because it has the feel of a fast food place, the food isn't necessarily fast. I came here quite a while ago with friends and found it really tasty, but unfortunately without a car I've never been able to make it back. I had the Wicked Good burger with onions, mushrooms and Swiss and cheddar cheeses, and It was extremely large, juicy and flavorful. Loved the fresh cut fries but the crispy onion rings are even better! One major downer was that my vegetarian friend's veggie burger somehow came with bacon. Fortunately he is not fussy about meats touching his foods, so we all had a good laugh, and he simply passed the bacon on to my carnivorous friend's burger. But for most veges that would be a major turnoff. I also don't like how lettuce and tomato cost extra. I didn't realize that so didn't order it. Fortunately my friend who inherited the bacon handed off his tomato to me. The decor is majorly hokey. They've got this giant mural of a cattle drive on one wall, and if you look closely the perspective is all messed up and the cows' legs totally out of proportion. And they had a "People love us on Yelp" sticker on the door which is a plus. - The food is very good & made to order - There's a simple but effective menu (burgers, veggie burger, grilled chicken sandwiches, steak sandwiches, chili, salads, hand-cut fries, chicken tenders, ice cream & frappes) - Cool atmosphere - all wood inside - Pretty fast service. You order at the counter & they deliver it to your table I took one star off because it's a bit pricey. I had a grilled chicken sandwich (add jalapenos & mushrooms) and a can of diet coke for $8 and some change. My co-worker had a specialty burger with mushrooms & cheese, large fries & a lemonade for about $12. I guess the fact that it's counter service & you don't have to factor in the cost of the tip helps a bit. Wild Willy's was suggested to me by a coworker who said that it is his favorite in all of Boston to get great burgers. Upon walking in on what should've been the dinner rush (7pm on a weeknight), the place was near empty, with only two tables of guests in the entire restaurant. I loved the menu at first glance - you can choose between three different beef: local grass-fed (which was what I chose), angus (what my guy chose), or regular USDA. Much like other new burger places, Wild Willy's has lots of different types of burger styles and toppings, but what really impressed me was that they cook to order! In addition, they serve beer and wine, as well as sodas, specialty lemonades, milkshakes, and floats. When our medium-rare burgers arrived... they were medium, at best. When we go to Five Guys or Tasty Burger, we expect medium or well-done burgers; but, if your establishment offers cooked-to-order done-ness, it should be done as ordered! This is compounded with the fact that we spent over $30 for two burgers, cheese fries, a bottle of water, and one root beer float... and our burgers weren't done properly as well as the bright-orange "cheese" sauce on the fries was very obviously from a pump. Needless to say, we will continue to go to Tasty Burger, where the price is cheaper and the food is cooked properly (even if they don't give us a choice, at least they do it right). read more

I was reccomended this place and was very impressed. First the ingredients were very good and FRESH. Any burger joint that puts in fresh GREEN lettuce is a plus in my book. Fresh onions as well. Burger had some juice being medium cooked but not overly juicy. Buns were very good, not too small where the final bites were just what's leftover. The burgers start at $4.75 and are MUCH better than IN n OUT burger. That is a real fast food chain and this business only has 3 locations and offers a kitchy interior but who cares, its what's in between the buns that counts. This place was described to me as having THE best burgers! While I'm not sure if they were THE best, they were pretty darn good! One thing that Wild Willy certainly got right is their ordering system! One of the best I have seen for a restaurant. You place your order at a counter, get a little tag with a number on it, then go sit at a table. The staff will come around with your food and place it on the table, and take your tag. A great system for groups of people, then instead of asking for separate bills you just pay separately! Everything is made fresh behind the counter, and they even fresh cut the fries! That's right, REAL french fries! While they are a bit greasy they taste great! The Bubba BBQ burger was good, and my friends told me the veggie burgers were good as well. I've been going here for years now but my last experience made me want to Yelp! They've had consistently good burgers for quite some time but their special "Taco Burger" was to die for! But then again, I'm not sure why they even have the options because obviously you should ALWAYS get the grass-fed burger. I tasted my buddy's raspberry lime rickey and it was the real deal. Prices are good. Burgers are big. Beware weekends full of children. But hey, they have beer, so drink up! I'm surprised by the number of lackluster reviews. Sure, it's not McDonalds pricing, but their burgers are really good and freshly made, they have a number of tasty varieties (my favorite is the Rio Grande) and I love that they offer grass-fed beef and grain-fed beef without growth hormones and antibiotics. For the reviewer who was confused about this, most cows in the US are grain-fed in crowded feedlots. The stuff they eat is typically a corn slurry that can contain more than just corn and corn byproduct (including cotton and candy still in wrappers). Grass-fed cows, on the other hand, eat green leafy stuff. Grass-fed beef is also healthier with less saturated fat and more omega-3s. So it's better for the cow, the environment, and you. And yes, it's a little more expensive to get, but that's not Wild Willy's fault. What Wild Willys does do is give you all the options and let you decide what kind of beef you want to get, and I really appreciate that. As for the speed, I've only had to wait longer if the restaurant is really packed. I'm willing to wait a few minutes to have a fresh burger made just the way I want it. read more

I want the restaurant to choose for me. To explain... If it's about quality and taste - I expect EVERY burger I order to be an ambassador of their standards. I'm already paying for what they call a quality burger. Now I have to pay more for the oh-wait-there's-more quality upcharge? No thanks. More likely, the choice is about offering organic options for the conscious eater. But does the restaurant really represent the interests of this group? Every dollar you spend goes to supporting a restaurant that buys the "Certified Angus" meat (whatever its shortcomings).
