I was told that this nail place was good by one of the workers at a store across the street. Boy, do I wish I had looked at the reviews first! I will say--the owner, Vivian, was very sweet. She worked on my friend and the other worker was assigned to give me a manicure. Aside from this place being very pricey, my manicure is horrible and her customer service was just as bad! I had to consistently remind her to paint the sides/edges of my nail, ask her to reshape my nails several times because they all looked different, and fix her mess-ups. It was obvious that she was very annoyed from me, but I was sure to be very friendly when asking. She STILL did not do a good job. The sides of my nails are not painted, nor are they clean around the actual nails. She also sighed every time I asked for something and said "SHIT" when I pointed out that hair got on my nail. I came here for nail removal of my beautiful soft gel tips I had done for my birthday... I didn't have much time in schedule to go to the same nail place I had it done. So I was referred to Belle Nails by a very nice and professional nail shop owner near my optometrist. I really loved my nails and the exquisite art work on it but I knew I risk losing them, especially since I jammed my middle finger and suffering from the bleeding and pain. That's where Vivian saved the day! She greeted me warmly, was very professional and accommodating. Her skillful hands and confidence in her craft calmed my nervousness when she assured me she can fulfill my very difficult request; it would've been easier to the it the longer (and less physically painful way, using the acetone method). She lifted the tips off my nail beds, and although they can be extremely painful, she removed them quickly while somehow massaging my fingers! I don't know how she did what she did, but not only my nail beds didn't feel much pain, my problem nail was saved too!! She even went the extra step of cleaning and filing my tips for keepsake!!! I had a really great experience at this salon! They were very friendly and my nails look exactly the way I wanted them to look. I had a full manicure, pedicure, eyelash extensions and eyebrow waxing. Super professional and they take there time. While she was doing my pedicure I messed one of my nailed up and she was not bothered by it at all and redid what I ruined and fixed it perfectly! I was also super please with my eyelash extensions! SHE TOOK HER TIME AND DID A GREAT GOOB. The person who did my wax did however hurt me. I think she is new at this and when waxing she cut me. My friend and I decided last minute to get our nails done. Unsure of where to go, we ended up here. Everything about this nail salon looked new. ::Experience:: Kim did my pedicure and I liked it. I wasn't satisfied with my manicure because the Nail Technician missed the sides of my nails when she applied the nail polish; I had to point it out to her. After she was done, I showed her a picture of a nail design I wanted which was a waterfall glitter tips (how I would describe it). It didn't look like the design I wanted and I did not like it so I kindly asked if she can remove it. I understand I was basically requesting her to start over again; I was very apologetic. The Nail Technician was annoyed and it was very obvious. She asked Vivian if it was ok to do my nails again. Vivian ended up re-doing my nails. ::Customer Service:: -Everyone was friendly. Vivian is a one man show (she is the only manicurist) in a facility built for a full staff. Because of this, she rushes every nail and leaves out large steps that are otherwise standard anywhere else I.e. filing, pushing back cuticles, cutting proper lengths, and clean up. While she's delightful and funny, her skills becomes less than great because of the rushing, which is the intention of the visit. My friend and I went and got gel extensions and pedicures. Pedicures, fast and clean with warm lotion massage. Our nail extensions were scary and I can't wait to take them off. Very happy with this nail spa. They are SO friendly, do a great job on manicures and pedicures (actually give you a nice massage), CLEAN +++, and have a lot of colors to choose from. I came in on a Saturday, probably the worst day of the week for a nail salon, but I really needed my nails done for my God son's baptism for the next day. I called around 12pm and the lady said they were really busy so I scheduled a same-day appt at 4:30pm. I came in at 4:30 and the lady (not going to disclose her name) sat me right away after I picked out my color. I wanted a fill and gel color change. I got exactly that although towards the end of my appt, another customer came in and I could tell my nail lady was checked out and focussed on the next person. She didn't paint my nails nicely and then I noticed the shape is off center. I was sitting there with my hands inside the gel LED light waiting for her to finish me up. I had to say "I'm done" so she can come over and finish me. I was charged $35 total and tipped her $5 (I'm a really good tipper but since it wasn't great I had to give her something) She was a nice lady and really sassy which I liked however she didn't put attention into her work. My wife was looking for a nail salon in the Pasadena area and came across Belle Nails and Salon. The problem was not the fact that there was not many options, but rather too many shops in the area, and finding the one that gave quality service and good pricing seemed... a bit hard... :) She made an appointment 2 hours before visiting the salon on a Sunday, but the appointment wasn't really needed that day since she was the only guest there. Such a lucky gal! Well, to sum things up.. the lady came home with good looking nails, and a happy mood. And an extra monetary inducement paid off, since she got both neck and foot massage that certainly was better than the 10 minute massage demo at your local Brookstone shop. Problem-there were four OPEN CHAIRS. And when I questioned them-the over dressed management (short dresses and breasts hanging out) threw her book into my face and said "Look, we booked til 5".. I've been here three times and I thought this would be my go to place to do my nails, but I think I may have to keep looking. Tina is great. She is meticulous and does French tip really well. I like it thin and with a subtle curve. Not the half ovals. The last time I came in, I came in at 7:15. I asked if they were closed and they didn't really answer me. They said pick a color. Okay so they aren't closed. Tina was doing my feet. I asked her what time they close and she said 7PM. We kinda talked about it and she said next time to call and they will stay for me. Well when the lady doing my hands comes, she berates me for coming in late. Excuse me, but you didn't have to take me. I asked if you guys were closed, and I could have left. Don't take me in then berate me. I also got gel French tip this time. It has been less than a week, less than 6 days to be exact and the gel is already lifting. There is also a long black lint piece stuck in the gel nails. Once my nails were groomed the owner did my French tip and they are sloppy. She said she usually does only the half oval and it is the first time she was doing a more subtle curve. I could tell. Also, there are bubbles in the polish. Usually, I argue with the nail person, if they shake the nail polish bottle vigorously. It creates bubbles in your polish. I was too tired to argue. I argued with them the first time I was there. It took 15 minutes for them to understand. Tina had to step in to explain to the lady not to use the shaken up bottle. There aren't too many bubbles in my polish, but enough to bug my OCD self. I think if I go back, I will ask that Tina do my hands and feet and I will stay away from gel nails. read more

This is your average Vietnamese-run nail salon only with nicer packaging. They're aware that a lot of people come in because of Yelp and other internet reviews, and being in the heart of upper-middle-class Pasadena like they are, there seems to be this clear intent to provide a more "spa-like" experience than just any old nail salon. So you get a nicely designed interior, spotlessly clean, lots of smiling and attentiveness, an arm massage, the offer of a drink. The workers are very nice and the owner welcomes you in like you're visiting her house. She comes off as a bit affected rather than sincere, which is annoying when you occasionally get forgotten about. Prices range high (of course). I paid $33 for my French tip style gel mani. While the brushwork wasn't the best, they did do a great job cleaning around the cuticles and generally buffing the skin around your nail bed. I have to say, their gel color choices are not vast. Their regular polish selection is much better. Overall a nice enough medium-quality experience. I can't imagine this being a "destination" nail place (especially as parking would be a nightmare) but for locals like me it's not a bad option. Usually I'd write a review right away, but I wanted to make sure that I made an accurate review on this location so everyone really knew how well this business is =) The reviews are correct. There are only 4 workers at this location. If you want to come, maybe make an appointment or go on a day where there usually isn't too many people like a week day. Today just happened to be a day that was not busy so I had alot of attention from the ladies. Vivian usually does my pedicures. But today, I had the pleasure of working with the other two ladies. I don't know what the complaint is. They are all really good. I always where my ipod and play music. I close my eyes so they know I want to relax and they don't talk to me. If you want to talk, then talk. And to be quite honest, on their LESS busy days, they take MORE time on you because they aren't rushed to be with the next customer. The place is very clean. Chairs are awesome with massagers that feel extremely nice. There are no tv's which for me is nice because I feel like they are distracting anyways. DO NOT PARK IN THE METERS!! Its only an hour max. Park behind the ROSS or the next block over where the corner bakery/Macy's is. I live around the area so I just walk down the street. The girls are always so friendly and its about $30 for mani/pedi. I think for a pedicure alone its $17? I might be wrong so don't quote me. But for the location and for the quality I think this place is awesome!!! read more

Never again will I go here. I used to travel from West Covina to get my Brazilian wax done until one day about a year or two ago I went when the owner wasn't there and one of her employees said she would be able to do the job for me. The only problem was she didn't know what she was doing at all. She was more afraid than I was to put the wax on and then rip it off. I left with a half done job. The owner, Vivian, called and asked me to come back so that she could personally take care of me, but I just never made it a priority to go back. Fast forward to present day. The beginning of May I started working in the area and decided to come here for a wax. Vivian greeted me with then biggest welcome and seemed happy to see me. While thereb I saw how she treated the other clients, nice and fake, but I thought, you have to do what you have to do to make your money, so no fault for that. Last Tuesday I come in for a wax, as soon as I walk in she looks up, no greeting and I ask if I could have a wax today or if she's too busy. She tells me she is "very very busy." So she tells me to make an appointment for another day which is no big deal because I work literally walking distance from the place, so I decided on Thursday at 6pm. I thought Vivian's attitude and persona seemed a little cold and unwelcoming, but figured she was probably, as she said, very busy and didn't have the time or energy to be her usual outgoing self. I get there a little early on Thursday and again no greeting, no hello, no welcome back, just a look. Other people are waiting on the couch, so I sit down. I wait, I wait and I wait some more. I finally think to myself, why the hell am I waiting to spend my money at a place that doesn't even care enough to greet me when I come in the door? And what's the point of making an appointment if I still have to wait and no one has the courtesy to give me an estimated wait time? I waited for over a half an hour and decided to just get up and leave. As I was leaving and as she was massaging a customer in a spa chair, Vivian then decides to yell, "I'm finished now honey!" This is the only thing she said to me the entire time i was there. I didn't say anything but thought, "Yeah, I'm finished too" and kept walking out of the door. She does a great waxing job and had been so personable in the past, so I was willing to pay more and travel farther than the place I can go to closer to home, but I REFUSE to spend my money at a place that can't even speak to me when I'm trying to spend money on their establishment. read more

From the exterior of the place you would not expect much, but the interior and design of the place definitely is up to par compared to the surrounding nail salons. Their selection of color is always stocked, and always hard to pick the right color! The salon chairs are kept clean and in great condition! Did i forget to mention that they serve mimosas? Each nail tech that has done my nails has always taken their time and is meticulous about how their designs turn out! If you are unhappy with it, definitely just let the nail tech or the receptionist know and they will be willing to fix it! It's okay overall. Clean and some of the manicurists are good. But it's more like a 3.5 stars. My last visit, I had a manicurist that cut my cuticles so hard I started bleeding. I did ask "please don't do it so hard!" Ugh. She brushed it off as if it's nothing. On top of that, she barely put on base coat. I had to repeatedly ask her to make sure my entire nail is coated with base coat and not just a tiny strip down the middle. Seriously? Common sense. The whole reason it's called a base coat is so your nail is protected. At one point I had to ask for the base coat so I can do it myself. C'mon, I am not an idiot and this is not my first time getting a manicure. Don't think you can get away with doing minimal work and get a fat tip. Parking is terrible. Only street parking and one hour limit. Guarantee you'll be here longer. read more

The day of, I was running late/stuck in traffic around 1:45 pm I had a feeling I wouldn't make my appointment time at 3pm, so out of courtesy, called to ask if I could push my time back. .. I'm actually really sad to be giving Belle Nails a low rating! I just moved to Pasadena and needed to find a new place to get my gels done, so two of my close girlfriends rave about Vivian and invited me to come with them. Vivian was extremely welcoming and the salon is very nice and clean. There was also no wait which my friends said there normally is. When I sat down, a woman started filing the top layer of my gels off... which was bad news from the start. She had barely gotten to my second finger when she SLICED the top of my finger with the huge emery board she was using. I made her stop immediately and I asked Vivian for some antiseptic to clean the cut. Then they just soaked off the rest of my gels. The rest of the manicure was awful and the woman tore my cuticles apart until I started bleeding again! I also got a pedicure and the woman doing my toes did a great job. This woman also applied my gel color, which turned out alright I guess. I ended up having to pay full price ($50 for pedicure and gel manicure) for everything even though I was cut so badly on my first visit. I ended up just not tipping that woman. Sadly to say I probably will not be returning to Belle Nails and Spa. I liked that Vivian instructed each of her staff and watched over them, however, I think I was just very unlucky. I was nearby and needed a pedicure so I swung in. They have a great color selection (a wall of OPI- my favorite), comfortable massage chairs, and a friendly staff. The technician really took her time- they weren't busy so I would hope so- but she was gentle and extremely thorough but obviously experienced. The pedicure from start to finish was nearly 45 minutes, but part of the reason it was so long was the leg massage! I've never had one so long during a pedicure. It was heavenly. It came as a pleasant surprise since the foot scrub was quite brief. I absolutely recommend this place. It was $25 including nail art, which when I wasn't crazy about her direction, she wiped it off before I could stop her and began again. I tipped $5. I've been going to Vivian to get my nails done for years and was delightfully surprised when she changed from her venue in Arcadia to this location in Pasadena. The environment is really great, they always have soft music playing in the background and all furnishing is new and clean. What is absolutely important for me is the cleanliness of the tools they use. Don't want any nasty infections now x]! Vivian is really amazing, she's always happy to see me and makes sure that my nails and/or toes look stunning. I like her other employees as well, but I completely agree with some of the other people who reviewed Belle Nails and Spa, some of her employees do not seem as experienced or they do somewhat of a sloppy job. But if you have anything that you're unhappy with, just let them know and they'll change it/redo it for you right away! The wait here is decent, depends on when you go. So I left and looked for another salon and found Belle Nails, they completely fit me in. The owner was so nice and she did an amazing job on my nails. Tina did my pedi and gave an amazing foot massage. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back again.
