We grabbed a bottle of wine on a warmer June afternoon after a day of exploring, which was definitely refreshing. The location isn't much as it overlooks a pretty bare piazza. The service can be a bit on the slower side, especially when I walked in and tried to get the bill. But still if you're able to get a table it's a pretty quaint wine bar. It seemed like they had some flights/tastings, which would have been an interesting option.

We were two couples and went for some wine and light snacks. When we arrived, there wasn't a table available for four, so we had to sit separately. Once a table behind our friends became available, we asked to move so we could sit closer together, but our server, Noemi, wasn't very accommodating and seemed somewhat annoyed by the request. We mentioned that we wanted to share a few dishes and asked about portion sizes, but Noemi didn't explain things clearly and wasn't very friendly. She insisted the plates weren't meant for sharing, which turned out not to be true. The wine itself was excellent, and the snacks were good -- but the overall service from Noemi felt unfriendly and not very customer-oriented. I'd still recommend the place if you're interested in trying great Italian wines, but be aware that the service experience may not match the quality of the wine.

Castello di Verazzzno may just very well be the most beatiful wine estate in all of Italy. And with…read moresome many gorgeous wine estates, that is really saying a lot. Yet it is quite true. I have had the great fortune to visit Verrazzano on 3 occasions and even stayed on the property for 2 days with 2 of my cousins (Cujinos) ... I am good friends with the great and wonderful Luigi Cappellini whose father purchase the property in 1958 .. The property was a bit run-down at the time, but the Cappellini family brought the beautiful estate back to life and made it the great place it is today. Luigi and his family are wonderful people. AT Verrazznno they make some of the BEst Chianti in all of the Chianti Classico Region.. They also make wonderful Honey, Aceto, Chianti Vinegar, and Tuscan Olive Oil. And if you are ever lucky enough to go there and take one of their marvelous Wine Tours through their gorgeous "Cellar" that is led by the wonderous and affable Gino Rosso who heads the tours, it will be one of the highlights of your life, "I Garauntee" After you tour of the famed Verrazzano Cellars you will have the most wonderful 5 course lunch of Verrazzano home-made Wild Boar Salami, there Tuscum Pecorino covered with their luscious Honey, Paparadelle with Wild Boar Ragu and other tasty treats, all accompanied by a different Verrazzno wine for each course, from the tasty Verrazzano Rosso to a great Chainti Riserva, to the famed Sassella, and finsihing up with Verrazzano's lush Vino Santo with the dessert course, "La Dolce Vita," Yes if you ever go to the gorgeous Castello Verrazzano, you will remember and cherish the day for the rest of your life, Barvo Luigi, Bravo Gino, you guys are the Best !!!! There is seating inside for maybe a dozen people but we chose to sit at one of the 3 small tables outside to enjoy the nice weather. Draft beer was $6 euro and the mixed drinks varied from $8-12 euro. We met Alycia who is one of the owners. She was very pleasant and friendly. We stopped for a drink and stayed for 3 hours. We also stopped for a 2nd happy hour on our last day in Florence. Worth checking out if you happen to be in town and want a quieter spot. We loved it.

The owner and staff were fantastic, very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. The wine bar itself is a small quaint little place. Probably seats about 12 to 15 people total and has plenty of windows so you can see passersby and people watch. The cheeseboard? Get the cheeseboard. They do a fantastic job of pairing everything together to really bring so many flavors to your tastebuds. Their house wine is phenomenal and they take great pride in finding the grapes/different varietals to make it come to life. They have a both a red and a white house wine option. The second time we went - and yes, we went more than once in the four days we were there - we enjoyed one of the sandwiches and it was absolutely amazing. The bread, I can't even explain, the bread it's so flavorful and so good and so light. That paired with the delicious meats and cheeses were 100% worth it. I definitely recommend this location to anybody who is visiting Florence regularly or for their first time.
