We came for a tour of the facility and left with a much greater appreciation for what they do. I learned that the organization gives back to many different causes, which is truly impressive. Much of the operation is supported by volunteers, and their mission is to empower women overcoming employment barriers while investing 100% of their net profits to help children and families facing adversity.
I had actually tried their chocolates before at Taste of Kingsport and really enjoyed them. One thing I like is that they use a thinner chocolate shell, so you're not biting through a thick chunk of chocolate like you do with some specialty candies. Instead, the focus is on the flavorful ganache centers. My favorite is probably the coffee flavor.
During the tour, they shared the history and mission of the organization, showed us the production area, and explained how the equipment and chocolate-making process work. At the end, we were able to sample four different chocolates from various categories, which was a nice way to wrap up the experience. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming, making it an enjoyable and informative visit. read more
