I wasn't overly impressed with this bridal salon and the consultant I worked with did not help their cause. I definitely would NOT make this your first bridal salon experience!
The store is on the second floor of the building, which was fine, and I was impressed that they had a vertical lift for anyone who couldn't do stairs (disabled, elderly, etc.) because I assume there was no elevator for public use (I did not see one). Once upstairs, the whole feeling of the salon was kind of dark, dingy, and old. The store is set up with bridesmaids/mother of the bride dresses on one side and wedding gowns on the other. The wedding gowns were arranged by designer, so if you had a particular one in mind that was helpful, otherwise it kind of felt like you were at TJMaxx trying to dig through and see all the dresses crammed onto the racks.
The consultant I worked with, Andrea (I believe), was not very personable. After quick introductions she showed my group over to some couches to sit and wait to view me in the dresses. She never really asked me anything about my wedding or what I was looking for, I did most of the talking just to make sure she and I were on the same page when pulling dresses. Feeling slightly overwhelmed and a little lost, I pulled 2-3 dresses, and then she pulled an additional 2-3, so when I got into the dressing room I felt a little more confident in the appointment. At that point, Andrea just said 'OK, put them on and let me know if you need anything.' She didn't come in to assist, which was OK I suppose, but I did feel a little abandoned. The first 3 dresses I attempted to put on were too small - I am about 5'9'' have an athletic build, and have been blessed with some 'junk in the trunk' needless to say, these gowns weren't going up! Since this wasn't my first appointment, and I understood that sizes run smaller I wasn't too discouraged - at first. Instead, I grabbed one of the larger-sized dresses and dressed myself. I walked out to show my family and none of us were blown away by it, so back in I went. After looking through all the dresses that had been pulled it was obvious that these samples were NOT well taken care of (one didn't even have a working zipper) and when it came to the ones that didn't fit, Andrea basically said 'ok, move on.' Not because the dress couldn't be ORDERED larger, but that it just couldn't be tried on. That was a little disheartening that just because it didn't fit then & there, it was completely disregarded - who knows maybe one of those was my dream dress, I doubt it, but I'll never know!
Ultimately, I tried on 3, maybe 4 dresses and then was told that was basically everything they had in the styles/parameters I had mentioned. We all knew the appointment was going no where, so we called it quits and headed to lunch early.
Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to someone looking for a 'bridal experience.' read more
