Based on my check ins the lie detector determines this is my place of choice. Located in downtown Perth Amboy, this place is a true gem. Honestly, every single service (besides the eyebrows) I received here has been nothing short of amazing from the gel manicures to the pedicures to the eyelash extensions, this place never fails. The place is also very well kept up and extremely clean. There are a lot of variety in terms of nail polish colors. The one thing that I like most is that the staff goes above and beyond to make sure that you're satisfied I would highly recommend this place to anyone in many of the surrounding areas. read more

I came here to get a full set. I requested ombré color for the nails and they claimed they didn't have the color. They just didn't wanna be bothered. The man who sits in the back left of the establishment did an amazing job on the shape and painting of my nails. I asked him for a certain design and he explained that he does not do them and that only the women do designs. That was no problem so I sat in the chair to wait for the woman to do my design, I showed her the image and this is what I got. Def won't be getting designs anymore. This looks a mess lol. This is what I asked for vs. what I got. Awful. Only 3 starts because the design was rushed and it was so packed we were rushed out of the establishment. read more

This place went to shit since the old owner Tina left. First of all let me start off by saying all the ladies who do the acrylic sets their are horrible, and do half ass jobs. The only ones good are the Spanish ladies doing the pedicures. I paid $55 for a full set. And i went back for a fill a week after because a nail had popped off already and paid $52 for a fill in makes absolutely no sense. I had taken off my set because they were ugly and the shape isn't what i wanted it to be. And guess what. I GOT NAIL FUNGUS as shown in the picture. This place is disgusting i can't even make this up. read more

Bella Nail Salon is by far the best nail salon I have ever been to.. I've spent many many years of my life in this nail salon on, what I make every attempt to be a weekly/biweekly basis, I've tried others and end up right back here, because they simply just do not compare! Don't waste your time, just come here first! The sibling owners are always friendly, pleasant and ensure your entire experience and time at their salon runs smoothly from start to finish. Jason is on point. Tina's work in remarkable. Sometimes everything may seem like a rush because this is the BEST nail salon around! They are always busy and patrons are waiting, practically out the door.. In the past, I have done pink and white tips and they were always beautiful as they were or with any design I asked for. I only do gel manicures ($25) and gel pedicures ($23). Total = $48 They always last 2 weeks, minimum. I always received compliments for my nails. Spa Pedicure $18 Deluxe Pedicure $25 Majestic Experience Pedicure $35 PHENOMENAL JOB BELLA SALON. Thank you!! TIP: Shorten your wait time and overall time at the salon, arrive Friday 1st thing in the morning, Sunday early morning, afternoon. Or just come during the week.. Avoid Friday afternoons, Friday evenings and avoid the entire day on Saturday! read more

This place gets busy FAST. You can call ahead to check out the wait but from what I understand unless you're seeing the owner, they don't take appointments. I would suggest going during the week as opposed to weekends. Or at least go earlier in the day. There are more pedicure chairs than any other salon I've been to as well as manicure seats. I think that's why I keep returning. If you're going to wait, it's not too long again unless it's the weekend or a holiday is approaching. They have many colors, gel and regular polish. They do dip powder as well. Street parking is available and there's meters to park at. read more

Bella salon was referred to me by a good friend. I travel from Staten Island and have no regrets. I loveeeeeeee my Kim she is so patient and efficient she takes her time. I've never had any issues with the gel peeling or my stones falling off. My nail shape is always on point doesn't look dull a week later. My nails usually last 3 weeks before looking like I need a fill in. My nails never look the same I'm happy every time I go. Check it out you won't be disappointed. I've also went to 3 other people before I met Kim and they were good too. But Kim is the bomb. read more

*** I GOT A TOE INFECTION *** The lady doing my toes was super rough and unsanitary. She cut me and wiped my blood off with a TOWEL. She even dropped the tools she was using and haphazardly sprayed it with the disinfectant. I wish I had said something and left right after she cut me the first time. I can't believe I paid AND tipped. She was barely paying attention to my feet and I'm still furious that I had to deal with that. With that being said, I go to DON at Bella Salon for my full set manicures, he's always booked up because he takes his time and does a great great job. read more

This is an amazing place to get nails done. After my cousin recommended me this place, I have only gotten my nails done here and I've never been happier. They know how to shape nails expertly and tips end up looking real on your hands. On the bad side, never come here for nail designs because they are unable to them properly. They made an ugly design with gems on my nails that I almost cried. I proceeded to a different salon to get the gems off and redone. read more

This place is ridiculous. Piling pedicures on top off fill-ins and full sets, etc. It was a great story to have my daughter's pedicure done while she soaked off her nails for a full set. Then, made her (me, too) sit for 30 minutes waiting for someone to do her set, because they had stuck at least three people in front of her while she had her pedicure and was "soaking". If you like sitting in metal folding chairs for long periods of time, this is the place for you. Also, I don't think the ventilation is up to snuff. The aromas of nail salon are overwhelming as soon as you walk in and they never get any less strong. read more

Absolutely wouldn't recommend this even to my worst enemy. Before I was called up to get my nails done (AFTER WAITING 2 HOURS) I saw a customer who already was having an argument with Erika. I should've know then. I got simple nails tiny hearts and was charged $12 for just the hearts. I was charged $52 in total when I only got 5 fake nails on to make them even with the rest of my nails. I've been to Bella nails a few times to get my acrylics done in the past. I started going to another local salon because I liked their work. I was in the area yesterday and my friend and I decided to go to Bella's to get pedicures. She's gone there before and loved their work so figured we'd go there. We were taken for our predicates immediately. The only sanitary thing about this place and my only compliant would be that they use a plastic cover but the basin for your feet. My pedicure was rushed over all took 15 minutes! The person doing my nails did not take their time, and I didn't like how the tools were stored so I only ending up getting a polish change and massage because I did not feel comfortable with them using their tools on my feet. The pedicure was only 18 but lesson learned it is never smarter to take the cheaper way. My friends nails were smudged due to the rushing. There are many salons in the area and I'd recommend Lavogue a few doors down. read more

I introduce myself and let them know that I wanted a wash & set. The lady showed me to the shampoo bowl where, while she was washing my hair, her beaded bracelet was hitting my in the eye, nose & forehead. That bothered me obviously. She continues to wash my hair and doesn't ask if I was interested in a deep conditioner which I was but it was never presented. She roll set me and showed me to the dryer. The dryer was set on Medium heat I'm guessing because it felt like cold air. When the dryer was done, she took the rollers out but I knew my hair was damp due to the low heat setting on the dryer. Nevertheless, I knew she'd blow me out next. I let her know that I like my hair with a lot of body. I hate straight, flat hair. She blew my hair out in large sections which didn't do anything. Then she went for the flatiron. I seriously hate the flatiron. Not to mention I said I wanted body. She continued and then slapped on a ton of oil. It left my hair weighed down, flat and super straight. Probably the single worst hair experience of my life. To make matters worse, my roots are thick now because my hair wasn't blown out or flatironed properly. Oh & I almost forgot. The sign on the door says that they accept cards and they have a card machine but the force you to use an ATM that they have inside the salon which charges you a $3 fee. No, thank you. Never again.

Horrible. Tried them for the first time. First of all hygiene is not a big deal other than wearing a mask for COvid and distancing. My gel pedicure was just ok. Now for the nails. I asked for a gel full set very short and classy with 2 nails having a marble design. After 2 different techs trying, none could achieve a marble design! What! In this day and age. Then they charged me more than the price advertised. The cashier could not give me an answer why the over charge, so I waited for an answer and then on second thought she said it was because my nail shape was "round". Mind you my nails are short almost to none! Never again! Ripping off citizens of Perth Amboy. read more

I absolutely LOVE Amanda at Bella Salon! She is an excellent Stylist who goes the extra mile to make sure I'm comfortable, and that the hair style I want is EXACTLY what I want. I think she is the very best Hair Stylist I've ever met and I'm very picky. The Salon itself is very nice, clean, and all the women who work there are friendly and courteous. I'm so very glad I found Bella Salon and especially Amanda. She is awesome!! read more

The way they take the time to ensure your nails are cut, clean , and shaped properly is what keeps me coming back. A lot of us have ingrowns and the way they go to town to make sure they cut them out is superior compared to other salons, and I've been to a ton of other spots in my travels. Rosa, Linda, and Veronica are top notch. If you upgrade to the spa pedi to I get an extra massage and other things depending on which package you choose. There is also an abundant selection of polish colors including gels and dip powders. The customer service is excellent, everyone in the salon is so friendly and welcoming. I feel like I am truly valued whenever I walk in. I really hope everyone has a chance to come here and enjoy their experience as I have each time I have my nails done.

Andy performed a service I did not ask for, and although it was only a $5 difference, I've noticed he constantly tries to push this on me even after I clearly say no. When I asked why he did it anyway, instead of apologizing, he responded rudely and humiliated me in front of the store, which is what caused me to lose my temper. At that point, I honestly felt like walking out without paying because of how I was treated. After being loyal customers for two decades, me and my family will no longer be returning, and if a sincere apology is not given, I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding this experience.

For the 25 minutes that I was sitting there other customers walked in other customers were serviced, and no one was giving me any information or update on who she was or what time she was going to get there. No apologies, no explanations. I finally said that I was there for designs and if my tech was going to be very late or too busy that I would just come back Monday. I was told she was on her way. She walked in at about 918, I should say she meandered in. She was on the phone, no sense of urgency with a nice fresh iced coffee in her hand. No greeting, no apology, no acknowledgment other than for her to abruptly waive her hand at me and then wave towards her station. I walked over to her station, didn't sit down and waited for her to collect herself and acknowledge me. She did not and made another impatient hand motion towards her seat. Nobody, and I repeat nobody, has time for that attitude first thing on a Saturday morning. I said "I'm good, not interested in keeping the appointment." And I walked out. Her behavior showed me that she has no respect for me or my business or my time. Her attitude showed me that the two hour manicure probably would've been uncomfortable. My manicure probably would've been somewhere around $125 because of the designs and a pedicure would've been around $50. Once you throw in tip we're talking about over $200. That is a luxury service and not one that I'm going to sit through aggravated and uncomfortable because the nail tech is inconvenienced by customers that show up on time. I give this a very grown out thumbs down. I'd rather look for a nail salon in the hood where they show up with respect for your time and money and excited to do the manicure. It might be a little bit of a drive but Perth Amboy here I come. Epic fail kiss Nails. Do better.

My experience as a nail tech at this salon was a nightmare. Van, Ana, and Linda treated me with…read moreextreme disrespect every day and seemed to be working together to find ways to get rid of me. The owner (Van) seemed to be threatened by my skills. Rather than addressing her concerns directly, she spoke bad about me to clients who requested me and discouraged them from booking my services. I bet the owner will lie about what happened, so I will attach the screenshots shared by a customer (see attached). When I brought this issue to her attention today, she fired me and threatened to report me to the NJ State Board of Cosmetology & Hairstyling to have my license revoked, despite signing an attestation to the government couple of weeks prior. This feels like outright retaliation; if she genuinely believed I was not properly trained by her own self, she should not have signed the form in the first place. Every day was a struggle as she gaslighted me into thinking I was the problem, when she was truly the core issue. Her unprofessional behavior not only undermined my confidence, but also created a toxic atmosphere. Several clients noted the negativity and some even decided not to return. If you're seeking a pleasant nail salon experience and a supportive staff environment, this salon is NOT the place for you. SX Nails & Spa serves as a prime example of how poor leadership can damage both a workplace and a business's reputation.
