A couple of family members joined us there. Both ordered plates of shrimp and grits and enjoyed them, as well as two side dishes that accompanied the entrees -- especially the deep fried "blooming " onion. Although my order of Greek salad was fresh and tasty, the added chicken proved tough and gristly. (However, it could have simply been a bad day for grilled chicken.) My husband, who is currently undergoing cancer treatments, ordered several dishes of vegetables but was feeling so badly when our meals arrived, he was unable to eat. This is when Cagney's began to shine -- service. Service is near the top of our review checklist, and can make or break any dining experience. Our waitress, Chloe, was (and, I believe, is) gold. Although a busy evening with a "full house," she waited on us quickly, got our order straight on the first try and updated us twice on one item coming out of the kitchen a few minutes after everything else. She checked on us from time to time and noticed my husband's fading energy. She noticed that he left the restaurant to relax in the car while we finished our meal. She asked if I might like to take his meal, which remained untouched, with me. When she returned with the take-home container, she had written a personal message on the lid and offered kind words and a warm hug for me. The next day, my husband asked me to warm his leftover meal so that he could have it for lunch. He said it was delicious. That alone is worth a great review. Add in Chloe, and dining at Cagney's was stellar.

I added onions and tomatoes - a great addition. I also ordered a side salad with creamy Italian dressing. LOVED the cream Italian!!!! I may order a full sized salad next time just for the dressing lol. My coworkers ordered a burger and it was just okay. The bread was dry and the patty was thin. However they did add ranch as asked and added cheese to the side of fries. Very accommodating.

I became very ill with upper and lower GI illness. I started to notice issues 2 hours after I left this restaurant. I would caution everyone that choses to eat here. Do not accept subpar food. When I called to let them know, instead of owning the mistake or trying to make it right, I was told I "wasn't clear" and they just made what they thought I meant. The manager doubled down on that attitude--no apology, just a lecture about their menu. That kind of response is unacceptable. If there's confusion, you clarify it--you don't push it onto the customer. I gave them another shot later, hoping it was just a one-off experience. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I ordered marinated steak strips with a salad (listed online around $14.99) and added a single chicken breast. When I picked it up, the total was $31. I asked why, and was told the chicken breast alone was $9. For one basic chicken breast, that's excessive. What made it worse was the reaction--I got a look like I was the problem for even questioning it. At this point, it's not just about the prices--it's the combination of being overpriced and the attitude behind it. If you're going to charge premium prices, the service needs to match.
