This has to be the best groomer in the Winchester area. I think they only groom small dog breeds. The associates are knowledgeable about dogs and how to properly care for them. I have done a lot of reading since becoming a shih tzu owner and the staff member took me by surprised at how much she knew about shih tzus. She impressed me. She also took the time to talk with me before Sammy's appointment to get a thorough understanding of what cut I wanted, what shampoo/conditioning treatment Sammy needed, etc. (Shih tzu can have sensitive skin and their skin can dry out. Owners and Groomers have to take care.) Not only did she already know all of this, but she helped me select what exactly I wanted. The best part was it didn't cost me anything extra. Since it was his first visit, they even gave Sammy, a complimentary blueberry facial. My kids thought that was the cutest and funniest thing they ever heard. They were sold. They love this groomer. Frankly, so do I. When I picked Sammy up, he looked like a million dollars. He had an amazing cut. His fur was soft and fluffy. I'm glad I saw it. My wife and I have lived in Inwood, WV for over 10 years now. We've tried various groomers both in Inwood, near Inwood, and in Winchester. All of them did an OK job except for one (shaved our miniature schnauzer without telling us). These grooming experiences were nothing to shout about or even take the time to post a review. They all were quite expensive, and didn't really meet our expectations given the price we. had to pay. When I got home I looked. up Kayla's website. I was excited to see that her prices were much more reasonable. So I called her up and made a reservation to have Abby groomed.. On the day of the grooming, we arrived on time, and Kayla was waiting for us at the door. She took Abby right away after filling out some paperwork. I asked her how long it would take, and she said about an hour to an hour and a half. Really? All of the other groomers to 4 or more hours because they put Abby in a cage and left her there until they were actually ready to groom her. Kayla doesn't do that. I didn't even see any cages in her salon. Sure enough, one hour later Kayla calls to tell us that Abby will be ready in 15 minutes. It took me 20 minutes to get in my car and drive to her shop. Abby was waiting at the door for me. I forgot to bring my checkbook, which Kayla had told me to do because she only accepts cash or a check. I didn't really want to run back home, get it and come back, but would have if Kayla hadn't said I could pay her the next time she grooms Abby - early August! It was May 5th that day she groomed Abby. I asked where the nearest ATM machine was but unfortunately there wasn't one close by because this is a very rural area. Kayla said, don't worry about it. You can send me a check instead. How many groomers have told you not to worry about it, just send them a check. In all my years of having a dog groomed (over 25 years), not a single groomer ever did that. Most groomers hold your dog hostage until you pay! Not Kayla. She's not only a very friendly person, but also a very trusting person. Remember, this was the very first time we had taken Abby to her. Now we've had Abby groomed by six different groomers in the four years we've had her. She's a 4 year old miniature schnauzer and we got her when she was 8 weeks old. As I said earlier, those groomers did an OK job - nothing to shout about except for one who completely shaved Abby. Kayla did an excellent job. When I brought Abby home, my wife was amazed at how well Kayla had cut Abby's beard and legs. She just kept making over what a great job Kayla did grooming Abby, and I totally agree. So not only was Kayla trusting me to send her a check (for less than any other groomer charged us), she was very nice, very friendly, and an excellent groomer. I. made Abby's next appointment before I brought her home. I'm extremely happy with the treatment Abby received from Kayla and am making her Abby's new groomer from now on. It is my honor to share these experiences with you, and I highly recommend Pawsitive Vibes Groom ing Salon to other dog owners. Although I never carry cash or my checkbook because I've gotten in the habit of just using a credit card (to get the travel points), it is no big deal for me to bring my checkbook (which I will not forget on our next appointment). It's taken me a while to leave a review after the unfortunate passing of my cat, Cece. July 29,…read more2026, I took Cece in to have her matted fur cleaned up only! She was not sick. 2 Assistants took Cece to work on her. Paola and Darya, assistants... One of the assistants said they had never done a Lion Cut. (I should have turned around and left.) After 90 minutes and several times we heard the cat screaming, they brought her out COMPLETELY shaved down to her skin (except her head), Cece had quite a few bloody nicks all over her body and tail. None of these cuts were cleaned or was she given an antibiotic. (With a 3rd-level cut; 10 mm of fur should have been left on. Cece was too old to have such a Traumatic experience. After all of this, the Vet wanted to have tests done. When the tests came back, the Vet said she would only live a week! And wanted to euthanize Cece, REALLY? She wasn't sick when I took her in. I had taken Cece in last November, and the Vet who saw her last year would only do clippings, as he said she was too old to do any more. When I took Cece home on July 29th of this year, she was never the same and lasted another 3 weeks. Cece did not deserve to die this way. I WILL NEVER USE PLAZA PET CLINIC AGAIN. The assistants should be fired if they don't know what they're doing. We love our pets, and there's no reason ever to put them through HELL because of assistants who lack the necessary skills when working with our precious pets. One other thing: I went back into the Clinic to speak with either the Hospital manager or a Vet. Of course, they were at lunch and said they would get back to me. THEY DID NOT CONTACT ME. I WILL NEVER USE PLAZA PET CLINIC AGAIN.
