One of the most delicious slices in MI. A massive statement as Detroit Pizza is some of the best. Higher standards than any city other than Buffalo. It's mostly gooey doughy cheesy grease-fests with pepperoni, but it tastes damn good. Nobody makes them better than Bella. Primo's & BC are the other two which are amazing, they're both nearby. Service is great too. They have slices in the evenings sometimes. Wait time is well worth it. Phenomenal world-class life-changing pizza. But like I said if you don't like greasy doughy cheesy, then this might not be for you. Neither might Yelp. Detroit Pizza has similarities to Buffalo Pizza. The 2 best homemade All-American style pizza cities in the world. Bella was my first slice on my 2nd tour of dreamy Detroit Pizza. I'll never forget it. Spectacular. Comparable to the best versions in Buffalo. Most Yelpish locals & all tourists don't get or appreciate it. Thick, doughy pizza bread, hearty homemade tomato sauce, thick layers of cheese, with greasy-ass pepperoni as the crown on the King that is Detroit Style, on the throne that is delicious dough, of the Kingdom that is Pizza. So put that in your oven and bake it. Motown knows how to pizza. Bella knows better than most. Sky-high standards, Buffalo is the only other place on that level. Funnily enough the pizza in Detroit - much like that in Buffalo - is best found south of the city. Morons will tell you that there is no South Detroit and that Journey were wrong, but there really is. It's called Downriver, specifically Allen Park. Technically SW of downtown, but it's South enough. I highly recommend BC's, this place - Bella, Paul's, and the Allen Park location of local chain Primo's. Always skip national chains, esp in Detroit. Yes NYC has 4 of my 5 "best slices". But for overall excellence, nothing is close to the consistent standards of Buffalo and Detroit. And in Detroit, this is easily top 5. For me. So far. Bear in mind (yes, I'm thinking of a bear - hint: whichever way it turns, it is facing south - what kind of bear is it), it's not for hipster healthy locally sourced gluten free stuff. If it was in Brazil it would rule the Favela, If my tummy is a cell then this pizza's the Flagella, If Pizza Hut's a one-liner, this is a Novella, This slice is "Taylor Lautner", not Edward or Bella. I ran so fast to get here, I ruptured my Patella, When I slipped in the rain and almost caught Rubella, Until Rihanna let me stand under her Umbrella. Ella Ella. Eh Eh Eh. We went to the Pub and we shared a pint of Stella, We Netflix & Chilled while we watched Barbarella, We made out and listened to Michael Jackson's Thrella, She showed me her Hopeless Place, I showed her my Goodfella. I had her like Cabaret had Liza Minella, I got repelled like Citronella when I ate her Paella, But I chose not to tell her, that she smelled of Mortadella, Cuz she looked like Cinderella and I ruled her like Mandela. She said "I went to Harvard" so I showed her my Cornella, Then I asked Ri Ri if she'd be my Abuela, She said "that means Granny!" and tried to cap me like Old Yeller, I ran away, but after days, I could still smell her... First time visiting and ordered 1 large 1/2 with chicken tomato's ham, other with pepperoni ham hamburger tomatoes. A round pizza with notability thicker slice. We got the Chicago style pizza and it was not bad but not like the traditional deep dish, Chicago style. Called in the order and the guy on the phone was great and the lady that delivered the food was nice as well. We also got the garlic cheese bread things they was really good. I would say over all it was a good experience but the pizza was just pizza to me and nothing stood out except for the pizza sauce. It was a bit sweet, and very good. I can't say anything good or bad about the Ambiance because we got delivery and not put up. read more

Eh. We ordered Bella for the first time last week. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza and the barbecue chicken pizza. The pepperoni didn't have that much actual pepperoni on it. The barbecue chicken was good, but nothing really extraordinary (this may be because I'm used to Major Tomato's though - which is literally life changing). The crust on the pizza though was so bland and chewy. I don't mind non thin-crust pizza, but to have to basically rip the bite from the slice because the crust is so cardboard-ish is not my idea of a good slice of pizza. We may give it another chance in a few months or so. I feel like we have to have ordered on an off night because the amount of good reviews and recommendations from fellow APers are so plentiful. read more

Bella's is all AP and more. Been going there for 20+ years. The owner is a stand up Guy and has been on the news for helping people. Great pizza and friendly staff lead to really good pizza. I'm partial to the pizza rolls and i just tried one with the sliced meatballs recently and yes,, i'm getting one tonight. If you want leftovers forget it unless you order their giant NYS pizza or the peanut butter and jelly pizza (i haven't had the nerve to try it yet lol). Good people good food great prices. That's it. Tried this place on a lark, just wanted pizza and to try something different. So i called them up and they said they'd deliver to me though i was out of their area. Got the food. Devoured their dipping bread and it was good. The pizza didnt look like much but it was damn tasty they dont skimp on the toppings either. They give you two huge slices of pizza and a soda for $3.50! I agree with Dave on supporting locally owned biz. Pizza is yummy and fair priced (plus fresh ingredients!). Ive been in there twice, the first time I was very indecisive, and the owner was so sweet and attentive to me. The second time I went in, I wanted the leave a tip and the the owner was like "phish, I own the place". Love it. I first ordered the #2 special pizza with pepperoni & sausage & I would give it 5 stars for taste & I ordered it for delivery. I turned around and ordered the New York style pepperoni based on reviews a few day later with 24 wings, & the peanut butter & jelly pizza...I might have ordered too much, because the pizza quality & taste wasn't good. This is the first time I experience this with them everything is usually fresh, hot, & delicious so I was very surprised, but will order again, because I haven't had a lot of experiences such as that one. read more

Ordered from this place for the first time yesterday! Whoever says this pizza is good, you obviously never had a good pizza! This might be in my top 3 worst pizzas I ever ate!I ordered the New York style and got a just a regular pie, then I ordered just a normal pizza round and literally had to spit it out! The dough taste like domino's gone bad!!! On the so called New York style, it had a vegetable oil taste to it! The sauce taste like it was days old if not weeks, the dough had absolutely no flavor, and the cheese was bland ,no chew,almost like a pizza from Kroger ! For 2 pizzas the cost was$32 , the order experience was bad too, sounded like the guy was high, I had to repeat myself several times, they put me on hold 3 times one of which I heard them laughing and joking around.. I love this place! My family is crazy about Pizza Hut because of their yummy sauce and fluffy (but not too fluffy) crust. No matter where we've tried, we never seem to find somewhere that can compare...until we found Bella! We live super close which is awesome so when we found A place that was so close, we decided to give it a shot. And boy am I glad we did! These guys have an awesome fluffy crust, but of course not too fluffy... And their sauce is super yummy as well! They even have really good breadsticks too! wife came home with this huge party size pepperoni pizza out of nowhere and under $20. I'm not a fan of pepperoni, but the rest of the family is so that's that, but this made me reconsider. The pepperoni was cooked to slightly crunchy and never had it like that on pizza before, wow, was it ever delicious. Also I'm a fan of extra sauce and this came pre loaded with it, nice. all in all, my new go to pizza place and cheap too, works for me. Ordered delivery through Door Dash and received a wrong item, not order, no biggie. When I called Bella's the owner refused to acknowledge that his company took any third party delivery orders and refused to remedy the mistake. The biggest problem was being told that they had no record of our order and that we must have ordered from another Bella's? I repeated the phone # and slogan from the box, the one reading "serving ALLEN Parks finest pizza...", and was repeated told "well that's our box you should be careful who you order through." Door Dash has been pretty reputable and I would assume they get permission from the businesses that they deliver for. I feel as a business owner it's important to be careful who you allow to handle your product, it is still your brand on the line and at the very least be knowledgeable of another company your customers are ordering through. read more

I've tried ordering out a few times since moving to the area, and I've never been impressed with the food here. It's not bad, but it's never been good enough to make me order the same thing twice. The pizza rolls are messy, much unlike other local pizza places. The Super Cheesy Bread is okay but lacks seasoning. The lasagna is so bland and filled with meat that has absolutely no flavor at all. This place is so rude. I had a problem with the customer service and received a credit because not only are they rude they forget to cut you pizza. I thought I would give them another try because they gave me a credit but now I get home to find long pieces of hair in my food. This is unacceptable. This is a family business and the people are always friendly which is hard to find these days. I have been going to this place for years. I have moved another 20 minutes away from where I used to live so I don't order it as much. This place also sells slices and if they have been sitting for a little while they have just game them to me for free before so I ended up buying a soda from them. They have many choices of Special pizzas that are worth a try (coney dog, peanutbutter and jelly and many more). I usually go with the small party tray pizza with double pepperoni that way the pizza is cooked perfectly and I really enjoy the type up pepperoni that they use as it curls up when cooking. I had ordered the large party tray pizza before and the middle dough wasn't perfect, I would suggest just ordering two small party tray pizzas they are perfect. read more

I was just leaving Roll Models Bike shop on Friday (pizza night) and I saw all these people coming out with pie's. I asked a few and they said the best around. We ordered a pizza and breadsticks a couple weeks ago. I noticed that the cup that the marinara sauce was served in looked a little misshapen. I should have thrown it out, but I tried it anyways and it tasted sour. So my husband tried it, and he said it was definitely rancid. So he called and was told that they had had a cooling issue-something broke-and that the sauce cups got ruined. Apparently they didn't realize this and there wasn't a manager there to tell them to throw it out, so it got sent out with our pizza. They had since stopped serving it. Maybe they could have called us before we ate rotten sauce?! They offered us a $10 credit toward our next order, but there will never be a next order from us. It then made us wonder if the sauce on the pizza was bad too. Pretty bummed out about it because I like giving local businesses my business. And their pizza is pretty decent. But if your employees can't even figure out if food is rotten before they serve it, then there's an issue. When there is a pizza place on every corner, I will choose some place else. read more
