I drove over an hour from Philly to come to their new salon and it was absolutely worth it. The new space is beautiful - clean, airy, and spacious. Cabrina and Daniella are extremely welcoming; it's almost like they're welcoming you into their home I had a little trouble with the lighting so my "after picture" doesn't do her work justice, but I'm thrilled with Cabrina's work again. I like to have very cool ashy blonde highlights with a deep root and lots of dimension. I'm also in the midst of growing out a lob (my natural texture is wavy). Cabrina did hand painted baby lights, a root smudge, and a toner. One of the things I appreciate most about the quality of their work is that it grows in so well and lasts... Cabrina did my hair about 6 months ago (you can see it in the "before" pic) and it still looked pretty good, even after so much time. I also appreciate that they're thoughtful with their products - everything is effective, but my hair is never damaged. High quality - and I'm always happy with the results.

The final color was entirely different from what was requested and when we asked for a correction we were told that there was not time but to go home and keep washing her hair - maybe try chlorine in the pool (???). Upon insisting that the color needed to be fixed (it was soooo harsh), we were then told to go home and use Dawn soap - which after spending money to go to the salon - seems quite insulting. We felt so uncomfortable with the way we were treated from when we walked in, we didn't go back for the corrective appointment. I have never been to a salon where they stylist didnt want me to walk out happy. Have reached out to management on two occasions to request a refund but no response.

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Opal Hair Studio. I chose this salon based on their…read moreprofessional website and positive reviews, but my experience did not match expectations. During my initial gray blending consultation, Jen and I agreed that gray hair did not suit me. The hair cut went well. ($112). Subsequent color services did not go well and were highly frustrating. My second visit was to color the 3-inch gray growth to match my light brown hair. The single process turned my 3-inch roots hideously dark brown leaving me with a harsh demarcation line. Also, no barrier cream was used so I left with stains on my face even after my face was abrasively scrubbed. Jen stated she lacked the time to add highlights to blend it together. ($282) I returned for a third appointment to have it corrected, which resulted in a shocking display of incompetence and zero customer care. Jen added partial highlights. An inexperienced assistant washed my hair and left some bleach in it, requiring Jen to rewash it. The assistant applied the first toner only to the roots of my part. My highlights turned bright blonde. A second toner was hastily applied, but since toners are temporary, the blonde is reappearing. What's worse is that there was no apology for their mistake. ($303) Total cost: $697!!! (Includes tip & excludes purchase of $84 in ROZ hair products) In addition to the outrageous cost, there was a complete lack of hospitality and comfort during my 3rd visit. The assistant's extra-long nails repeatedly poked into my scalp and started sloppily washing near my ears. When I asked what she was doing, she became visibly annoyed. Lacking any sense of hospitality, she abruptly told me to go sit on a bench in the waiting room instead of making me comfortable. I chose to seat myself in a chair by the dryer area instead. I was completely ignored and sat waiting for 35 to 40 minutes with a wet head while Jen focused entirely on another client. The poor results and unprofessional service did not match the exorbitant cost and I am exasperated by the massive amount of my time that was wasted. I recommend avoiding this salon.

It seems these days the shops are charging an xtra fee for the haircut and then blowing and styling…read morethe customers' hair. It could be because most of the hairdressers' haven't any clue how to create or style. I have been going to Le Toile for many years and Stephen B. was cutting my hair. He and many of the hairdressers in that shop are decent hairdressers. Stephen was excellent. However, he had a severe accident and will not be working there anytime soon. LeToile has had a new regime takeover because the two men who owned the shop for many years sold it to a few employees who worked there. The one woman is a bit off kilter and if she doesn't like the customer she has them thrown out of the shop. That is what happened to me. The reason being was because I have canceled appointments and rescheduled in the past. I have always made sure I canceled within the time frame requested. The one owner sent one of their worker's out to the parking lot telling me to come back into the shop for my appointment. I told the girl that is not possible after such poor treatment. LeToile is in Montgomery County/ Jenkintown, PA. It appears most of these shops think they are top notch hairdressers in the Bucks County area. They surely are not.
