The gentleman who helped me first walked me into the area with the big stone slabs. He explained just enough that I wasn't overwhelmed with information but I knew a bit about my choices, then he left me alone to browse. I can't explain the wonder of seeing huge slabs of stone and being set loose to select the one I plan to live with for hopefully at least 20 years. I wasn't looking at samples; I was selecting the actual huge slab(s) that would be in my kitchen. I think he left me alone for about 20 minutes as I wandered up and down the aisles. At first, I wasn't sure that somebody with no experience should be making this big a decision. As I kept looking and admiring the beautiful colors, striations of some stones, speckles of others and imperfections that at times I didn't like and at other times seemed to add character, I realized that I could rule out many of them as beautiful, but not right for my kitchen. When he returned, he saw I was still looking and was about to leave me alone, but waited to be sure I didn't have questions. I had questions. The answers helped me narrow my choices a bit more. The one thing he couldn't tell me was about pricing since that's left to the company that takes the stone and makes the countertops. He left me alone for a bit again before returning. I had started spreading my fingers and putting my hand on slabs that called to me. Two just felt right; I can't explain it. One was a dark grey granite with a tiny bit of micah that added a hint of sparkle without being loud. The other was a quartzite with striations charcoal blue similar to the color of my walls, a rusty brown that echoed the color of the open beams and ceiling in the kitchen with some offwhite as well. I was torn, but felt that the quartzite looked amazing in the showroom, but might look busy with the style of my kitchen. The contractor who told me about MSI had mentioned thaI would wear a hardhat while there. I told a young man who is very dear to me, like a godson about that and he wanted a picture. Where I was in the showroom I didn't need a hardhat, but the cherry on top was that I put one on and the gentleman who helped me snapped a shot for me to send. At this point, I had the information on both choices to go to Ideal Tile and ask about pricing and next steps. It turned out that the granite was a fraction of the cost of the quartzite. Also, when I touched the granite slab, I could feel my hands leaning on the counter, could imagine setting out dishes for guests to enjoy and sensed the comfort it brought to me. In the end I chose the granite. I know this review sounds a little over the top, but so was the experience! Again, I can't explain it.

If you don't find just what you are looking for in Phila, MSI also has a (I assume larger) facility in Edison NJ. MSI is the supplier of stone for many of the stone fabricators in and around Philadelphia, so you might as well go here first for the best selection. You can use their web page to look through actual photos of most of the slabs they have in stock, and the photos are clearer than most of the similar photo websites that other stone providers have. I am an actual customer, who has visited 5 other large stone suppliers, and this place is the best I've found.

It came to the point that we saved all our lives to get major work done on our house. I'm 68 years old and my wife being less older decided it was time to get our butts moving. The first Company we called was in Doylestown,Pa. a kitchen remodeler who gave us a price what a new kitchen would cost and his answer was unacceptable to us. Next, we called DAILY MANUFACTURING,(until this day, I forgot how his Co. came up). I gave DAILY MANUFACTURING a telephone call to make an appointment to come over and take a look at this kitchen. He,(BRIAN THE HEAD MAN WHO SUPERVISE THE JOB) stayed awhile making sure we are on the same page, what we expected, what has to be done. He came back here with the results and estimates on what has to be done. First of all, in order to remove the two walls, he would have to install a low bearing beam which they had to install through the side of the house. After we got all the ground work together, a few weeks later, the first hammer hit the walls, it was the time of demolition to begin. I have to tell you, before the tore up the kitchen, they made sure they put plastic around all doors and hallways to minimizes the dust and dirt. After each day, they made sure they cleaned and swept the working area. Hardly any dirt when they left the house each day they were here. I have to mention, BRIAN has a team working in sync, when the demo was done, the next team would come in and do there job, electricians, gas workers, dry wall installers, joint compounding, building casings or dry wall boxing what was needed to be, their flooring guy, cabinet guys etc. It did take longer than what we expected but of no fault of their own, for example, they needed to get permits from the township regarding the foundation for the low beam structure, dry wall inspection, electric inspection, gas inspection, I thing you got what I'm talking about. From beginning to end, it would be fair to say the whole job took approx. 2 1/2 months, again, no fault of their own. By the way, the recessed lights looks great. BRIAN is a understanding man and someone you can talk too, which when we have questions he would recommended to us what the best thing to do regarding to colors and layouts. What it comes down to is our kitchen looks great, reasonable in price, actually, I thought it would be more for the time they were here. Again, price wise, the first price we got from Doylestown was far too much and we should go to a General Contractor which we did and we went with DAILY MANUFACTURING. After the remodeling and the job was completed, I told BRIAN that I wanted to invite all his men to a pizza party for their participation in making our kitchen great. I am the sole caregiver-- so this was especially important. Because hygiene is so critical with the elderly, I needed either a toilet with a bidet function or a toilet seat that also functioned as a bidet. ...And, Weinstein's had quite a few choices of both types of bathroom units. Thanks to 'Alex's' thorough knowledge, I choose Kohler brand for both the toilet and the toilet seat-- with the latter having built-in bidet functionality-- remote controlled no less. This choice has proven to be this caregiver's dream! Maintaining my mother's hygiene is now both easy and significantly more effective than before. The Kohler commode is quite stylish and is an excellent accent to any bathroom. Similarly, the special bidet seat is also sharp-looking and fits the toilet just perfectly. Plus, the toilet seat does not look 'medical'; it looks like any other toilet seat. Significantly, the toilet seat is superb as a bidet! It allows for lots of control of two water jet wands-- front and back. The temperature, pressure and type of stream of the water can be regulated and with the remote it is easy. The seat can also be set at various levels of warmth-- so no more cold seats. The seat also has fans for drying-- and these too can be set at whatever level is most comfortable. Were all this not enough, there is also a deodorizing feature. The Kohler seat is not inexpensive, but it has been worth every penny! I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this seat for any caregiver and for nursing homes! Also-- now that I know about it-- I would get this for any household because the Europeans that have used bidets for around a century are smart for doing so from both a hygiene and comfort perspective. It is simply better than our toilet-only, American way of doing things. I married the Kohler seat with their toilet that has a power flush feature. This choice, as recommended by Alexandra, proved to be inspired. We needed the power flush feature for the toilet because we cannot afford a clogged toilet when my mother only has access to this single bathroom. Also, this adds significantly to the efficiency of my caregiving because there is no waiting for water to cycle out of the commode. I won't shop anywhere else but Weinstein Supply for kitchen and bathroom products! Weinstein Supply is simply the best in terms of quality items, selection and second-to-none customer service!
