After decades of putting off the dreaded move to gut our upstairs bathroom and have it renovated,…read morewe finally broke down and did it. After several estimates on the cost, we chose Kret Kitchen and Bath, on Eureka off of Fort St in Wyandotte. We were very impressed with their showroom and just walking into it gave me great inspiration and choices that helped me put it all together. We live in a two story Colonial which is decorated in the country theme. I wanted that same look as well for the new bathroom. Mike was a great help in making suggestions and bringing ideas to my attention. A pleasant surprise to me as I can surely be a normal female who thinks she has done all her homework on decorating! Mike was outstanding in his communication on the progress being done, any wait time on the choices we made, or just a simple check in to see how we were liking the choices we made, from the very beginning, right to the end of the job, we really appreciated that Mike! The area around the bathroom was prepped with a plastic wall to keep the dust from seeping into the bedrooms, plastic on the stairs and our front entrance foyer, was covered for protection with the outmost respect for our home. The crew lead by James and included Steve, Lyle and many other workers whose names I don't recall. These guys were just the best, polite, cheerful, always answered our questions with great knowledge, always on time, and if they were going to be late never failed to call us. All the choices I selected turned out to be winners and we couldn't be happier!! We highly recommend Kret, they are the real deal, the workers are a real asset, their products are excellent quality. For the choices we went with, the challenges they experienced and at times the hard work they did, the cost of our renovation was well worth it, before calling it a day their mess was always cleaned up, what more could we have asked for!!! After putting this off because of the inconvenience, had I known how easy it was going to be, we would of done it sooner, it's all you fault Kret!! Thank you A+ Bob and Debbie Hohn, Riverview

Calvin Ray Johnson/ PowerMax will start a job, then fail to finish despite being paid in full. They told me two weeks for a project and 2 months later they still had not finished (most of their work must be redone to code) The crew comes in, does a little work and makes it look like things are progressing. What is left is a big mess and big hole in out bank account. Calvin Ray Johnson assured us they could/ would in a written contract procure proper permits, which they cannot since they are not licensed to do such. We must have much of their work redone because it was shoddy and not done to code. Again, avoid using PowerMax Renovations LLC or C J Renovations (Calvin Ray Johnson's other unlicensed company offering the same services). There is no review button on the Facebook page; which is why I presume all bad reviews are found on other websites. Please do not use this company, Calvin Ray Johnson intentionally defrauded us, and stole our money. We have submitted complaints with Better Business Bureau, LARA and The Attorney General to investigate his fraudulent business practices. Hopefully, they will be held accountable and not allowed to continue in business in Michigan. If you have a similar issue with Calvin Ray Johnson or either if his companies PowerMax Renovations or CJ Renovations, please contact any of the three agencies listed above. Photos coming soon!

He made it too large so when you're sitting on the toilet, your shoulders will touch the outer drywall from the shower. I asked if he could install a new bathroom exhaust fan and he said he'd have his electrician do it and he didn't install it correctly so I had to fix it. Stay away from Powermax!

Every other contractor didn't seem to grasp the complexities of the work I was trying to get quoted, but I could tell James completely understood and listened to me. His price was also very fair. He made the whole process straightforward. When a couple unexpected problems came up, he explained the situation to me and provided me with fair options. I am extremely happy with the level of quality and craftsmanship that Morpho Carpentry provided. I will absolutely work with James for my future home projects.
