The experience working with American Granite Tops is so good that I wish I have another house to remodel! From sales consultant Alex and Brittney, measurements tech Euli, the owner Loranzo, the fabricating technician who took pride in matching up pattern on backsplash and the installer Mike who took so much care that the countertop sit so square and level and I can hardly see the seams in the middle of sink! How nice it is to work directly with the fabricator instead of going through a third party vendors. Besides the excellent work they do, their price is also super competitive! We highly recommend American Granite Tops to anyone looking to put in new countertops! Oh and you can choose materials from any major suppliers. You won't be disappointed.

Our experience started off well. The showroom staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful during…read morethe selection process. Unfortunately, everything after that was frustrating. The installation process was long, disorganized, and full of unnecessary delays. The person who came out to measure forgot to template the riser for our basement bar, which immediately stalled the project. Later, (after one rescheduled install due to staffing issues), an installation crew refused to enter the house after being instructed to use the basement entrance in the back. They left without completing any work. That decision alone pushed our remodel back another two weeks and disrupted the schedules of our other contractors. When installers finally returned, it was around 5:00 p.m. just before the Fourth of July weekend. Instead of simply completing the job, they immediately started making excuses about why they couldn't install the riser and suggested another reschedule. Fortunately, my painter was there and called them out, making it clear there was no reason the work couldn't be completed. They ended up installing it, allowing the rest of the project to finally move forward. If you're coordinating a remodel with multiple contractors and working on a timeline, I would not recommend Hard Rock Stone Works. The lack of communication, poor project management, and repeated delays turned what should have been a straightforward installation into a frustrating experience.

I will start with the pros: their selection is very good. That's it. The cons outweigh this…read more I was referred to this company by a family member that used them. She commented on the selection and nothing else. In hindsight, I should have run for the hills. We went to the showroom several times to walk the warehouse and choose the perfect stone. Quartz is what we ordered. Pierre and his brother own the shop and while they were never overly friendly, they were professional. The day we came to order the stone and discuss details, things went well and Pierre scheduled us within weeks for measurements and install further out on the calendar. Supposed to be two dates (measuring and install). Prices weren't cheap, but weren't the most expensive either. I was so excited that this company seemed to be on their game. His brother came to quietly take the measurements on the scheduled date. Install day comes, two men show and wait for bigger guys to help them. Bigger guys arrive and carry pieces in and determine they did not bring the right size. So the whole install day is scrapped and we get scheduled another two weeks out. This time only three small guys show up without proper equipment to bring in massive slabs of stone. They rest an over 9 x 5 foot slab on our wood step denting it. THEN after getting it into the kitchen, chip a whole corner off of the island top, turn around to see if we saw, and spend about 40 minutes trying to glue it back together which we said we won't accept. It was probably a 4-5 inch piece busted off the corner. The workers (specifically one I did not get name of) get irate at us and call their boss Pierre. Lots of yelling in a different language and I get handed the phone to say we need a new piece of stone and the step will now need repair. (Pierre agreed to both without apology). The one worker was so rude every time, he was actually scary and we really didn't want him in our house again. So we get rescheduled yet AGAIN. This time, two men (who had been out prior) come out with the stone and only do part of the job. No reasons why, but explaining your process to customers (that you do the counters, then island, then backsplash at all different times) would be nice. I can't even list everything that went wrong. The sink cutout that we paid $250 for was done wrong. It was to be flush as stated in the initial meeting. Apparently Pierre didn't write that down and blamed us for the problem. Even when it was recut, it doesn't match our sink (that they had the whole time). They wanted to use these huge, ugly black plastic brackets for under the sink. We had to go buy our own stainless steel brackets to use instead. They won't use clips or glue. They hacked into our drywall and cabinets to make their ill-measured stone fit. The backsplash doesn't go up to the bottom of the cabinet (they told me that's not possible), so big gaps under the cabinet and between the top of the backsplash. Caulking cracked within a week of install though the temperature was the same in the room. The grout (or glue) between the stone at the seams is missing/has gaps and is yellowing. I sent photos and called Pierre about this. We were rescheduled for a recaulk once after being told it was a temperature problem (which it is not). It's about skimping on product and using cheap materials. We were treated poorly at every touchpoint after the initial sale. I am very disappointed they don't stand by their work and that our kitchen has zero warranty.

Exceptional customer service from the start! Justin was very informative, educated us about the process and gave us an approximate quote based off our measurements right away. I came here because of the reviews and I am glad I did! I've had less than acceptable experiences working with various contractors and I wanted to work with someone who was timely, cost effective, great customer service and good quality. I expressed that to Justin and he was so understanding and assured me they are all those things. He was right! The next day Jorge came to my house to take measurements. He was very polite and knowledgeable about granite and overall experience. They say it takes two weeks from the date they receive the slab order you pick out. That is indeed true. I had a very specific granite vision of what I wanted. I went to a few suppliers and found the one I wanted. However, when it came in, the slab was cracked and MGE did not want me to be disappointed as they genuinely cared about the finished product and quality. We sent it back. Then, Kleopatra called me and offered to come with me to the suppliers to help me look at the granite and inspect it herself. I was so relieved and was blown away with how she went above and beyond to keep me informed of everything and to ensure I chose the granite we would be satisfied with long term. We ended up picking Avalon White from MSI. She inspected it and showed me which part of the slab they would use. I was reassured and so excited! Their prices are competitive and cost effective for their customers. The install team was outstanding. Our home is a historical home built in 1884, so the ground isn't as leveled. They stayed for 6 hours reconfiguring until it was perfect. They wanted to ensure it looked pristine and they do!! We love them and would highly recommend MGE to anyone. Matter of fact, I sent two people there already and they are pleased as well. Great work MGE team!

I also suggest the other 'Best Granite' employees adopt this same level of customer service. It goes a long way!! Best Granite and Marble, Livonia provided horrible quality and customer service! they installed my dark countertop with white sealant which amplifies the poor fit between the backsplash to the countertop. this is the first thing that everyone comments on when they see it. also, when they cut out the holes for electrical outlets in the backsplash, they were short by about an 1/8th of an inch making it impossible to screw in both screws so the outlet cover so it won't fit on it properly. they want to charge me $150 to come back out and correct their mistake.
