I suggest you drive up during the day time, because it can be a situation at night, if you have never been. We packed food and went into town to get charcuterie goodies and basically ate all our meals on the patio. The view is absolutely incredible at all times of the day. Bob Dunning is a great host and responds quickly to texts. There is an honor bar featuring their wine and because we never made it to their tasting, had to try. The villa is fully stocked with dishes, wine openers, glasses, mini fridge and reverse osmosis drinking water. Their air conditioning and heater work great, and we left windows open at night. We made coffee, eggs and toast in the kitchenette every morning and were sent off by Lulu and Pono (the two ranch dogs) before we left for our daily activities. The house is in close proximity to many of the Paso wineries, 30 min to Morro Bay, and 10 minutes to downtown Paso Robles which made it easy to take mid afternoon naps before the next activity. We appreciated the welcoming hospitality of Amy and Tom for making us feel comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Amy made us some delicious Vegan chilaquiles for our first morning and Avocado toast on our second. Both breakfasts are making me hungry as I write this. I've never experienced a Bed and Breakfast but they really set the bar high for my personal expectations going forward. We were able to relax and watch the wild turkeys when we awoke to plan our days there. Thanks for providing the recommendations and giving us an insider perspective of what makes this area special. It's walking distance to the main part of downtown and there is a pizza and a Mexican restaurant across the street. My only real gripe is how hard they're pushing guests to buy their snacks and wine-- the room has not one but two pieces of furniture loaded with premixed cocktails, a bottle of wine, snacks, and bottled mineral water. They don't allow "outside food" in common areas, whose definition was never clear to me- does it include the patios in front of the rooms? So I felt like a criminal bringing in takeout for dinner, but there is no food onnthe premises other than various kinds of overpriced chips and cookies. They don't let you bring outside wine in common areas, either, which might have something to do with licensing or might just be trying to make you buy their wine. So we waited until it was dark and no one was around to enjoy our outside wine on the patio. But we didn't get in trouble so maybe it was ok. They're also really promoting their bath products, for sale in their little gift shop, along with membership in their hotel chain for "rewards." The website says pet friendly and indeed, dogs are allowed in all rooms-- $50 each is a little steep for pet charge though. The website says there's something for pets in the room but there was none in our room, even though we booked in advance. I don't really care that much but if they say it, they should do it. There were also some rich women guests who looked at me like I was a homeless person or space alien, but other guests I met in the breakfast room were normal and friendly. But basically, it's a hotel oriented toward well-off "classy" wine tourists, and if you're not one of those, you might feel a little awkward here. (I did.) But it's a lovely, comfortable little room with charming grounds, probably nice for a romantic getaway without your dogs.

The front desk closes at 10p but the desk reminds you every evening. One of the best things? Continental breakfast in the lobby...don't miss the locally baked croissants- they rival ones we had in France. Will I return? Absolutely!! I'd forgo the hotel giants for this slice of heaven.

As a bed and breakfast, too, this winery offered a nice Viognier that I picked up for my neighbor as well as some blended reds whose varietal names escape my wine-muddled memory. The tasting host was a cheery guy who informed us that his wine club was a mob-themed club sporting fedoras and a life time of dedication lest they be excused closed-coffin style. Huge walk in shower, two sinks, a claw foot tub. A room for the toilet. The room has a fireplace and flat screen TV, a large closet room. Room is upstairs. There are three rooms for the place. We stayed during the big state fair in town and I believe the people in both of the other rooms went to the fair. I did get a bit scared when the couple down stairs was coming home at 3am. Their door is outside but it sound like some one was breaking in. Stayed in July and was grateful for the ceiling fan and the fact that it does cool down at night. We were able to open windows and turn on the ceiling fan to cool down the room. Paso Robles get very warm in the summer. 100 both days we were there. A bit outside of town but nothing too far to make it not worth it. Breakfast in the morning was nice. Standard breakfast. Not your typical sit down let me serve you B&B breakfast. More here is a buffet help yourself. Can sit inside or out on their porch. Glad we got to experience the place. A bit shocked at the cost of a glass of wine ($10) when staying at the place but they have a right to charge what they want.

Downtown Paso Robles is within a 10 minute walk from the Stables Inn and they provided discount wine tasting passes for guests at a few tasting rooms. They have a nice continental breakfast area with coffee, tea, yogurt, lemon loaf. We also had 2 water bottles in our room- as a frequent traveler you rarely get any snacks or water for free anymore unless you have status with the big chain hotels. Mornings were cool and evenings warm but pleasant in August but day time was blazing hot. Checking in and out was smooth and easy. Our room was conveniently just across from the pool area, which is also where the ice machine resides. Room A/C worked very well, and it was just as comfortable as I remember back in December. The blackout window shade and the reading lights above the beds were particularly thoughtful accessories. Adelaide inn is well situated near the 101 and 46 highways which makes it super easy to go to wineries or downtown. Highly recommend!

Our room was right next to it so when our window was open we could hear the trickling waterfall. The picnic area was also simple and sweet. The customer service was the first thing we noticed- the person who checked us in was upbeat and cheerful and there was zero hassle getting our room key and also the run down of what was offered during our stay. When we returned for pool towels it was a new Inn attendant who was equally cheery and well spoken, alerting us to pool hours & how to return the towels. The inn is also perfectly located near the event center and dozens of businesses so if you need coffee, groceries, gas or a restaurant it's all right there. It's a short 1 minute drive to downtown, and the on ramp for nearby wineries is even closer. Perfect stay!
