Unexpected stay on my motorcycle trip to San Clemente. Located in the heart of old town Camarillo. Easy highway access. Friendly registration process. Great prices. Place was very clean, with an adequately proportioned sitting area where I got some work done. Nearby restaurants included 2 beer pubs and a cafe on site. Decided on the Sushi place across the street, best Sushi ever. The on site cafe opens at 8 am, great avocado toast. Dirty Chai at Filice on the corner (Verve coffee) before I continued my journey south. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

Nestled in the middle of Old Town Camarillo, the Bella Capri Inn is a decent place to stay if you're looking for something walkable and fairly priced, and are willing to temper some expectations. All of Camarillo's hotels seem to be along the 101 freeway, meaning constant traffic noise. Bella Capri is on a less busy stretch of Ventura Blvd, away from the freeway, and the rooms face inwards around a small parking lot. So there's not much audible traffic noise. The rooms are small and clearances are tight, particularly in the bathroom. Our room had a comfy queen size bed, microwave, good sized mini fridge, TV, and a small round table. The free WiFi was on the slow side. Shower pressure was good but I had to frequently adjust the temperature to keep the water hot. Noise isolation was so-so. We didn't hear neighbors or plumbing through walls, but we did hear what sounded like a clothes washer on the other side. Every day we could hear the sound of people in the room above walking around. And in the very early hours of the morning (like 5am), I would get woken up by some thudding sounds outside; it sounded like someone throwing a heavy sack of something. So I stopped keeping the windows open overnight. Fortunately, the air conditioning unit worked well. There's supposed to be a small room with some fitness equipment, but we were told that it was closed while the staff figures out some ventilation issues since people complained that it gets too hot in there. And there's supposedly free breakfast, but that wasn't available to us because we booked through a travel portal. Overall, we had an okay stay here considering that the price was reasonable. Note that check-in ends at 10pm, so if you get here past that, you're out of luck. We forgot about the check-in time the first night and ended up having to stay with my parents an extra night. At least the price was still reasonable even after losing a night! read more

It's the first time I feel that my money spent on hotel is worth it. This small cozy inn is really well taken care of. I think they deserve 5 stars. Their photos on Booking.com didn't look that new but the room exceeded my expectations. They have everything we needed in such a small place: microwave, refrigerator, toiletries, table, cloth hanger. Yes, the room IS small but I think they use the space well. The room feels secure. The door lock is good. Plenty of parking spaces for free. They even have utensils and water for free in the lobby which is SO RARE in America! Noise proof was not the best. We hear loud motorcycle squad outside. read more

The room room was pleasantly decorated, very clean, recently remodeled, and sufficient in size. I had no issues with water temperature, room size, or the property. The staff were great and very helpful. The room got cold at night, but the room heater worked well so it heated up quickly when I turned it on. I would stay here again. The onsite cafe looks great, but I didn't have time to check it out. There is a soda machine on the second floor, but it only accepts coins so this can be problematic as many people don't really walk around with $1.50 in change. I did like that the location is safe and has a lot of nearby attractions that you could walk to. Keep in mind there is only 12 parking spaces, so you will likely need to park street side. read more

Was in town for law school residency with a colleague. Loved how affordable this place was so decided to make a reservation. The room itself has all the basic necessities, Dee was super welcoming on the first day, & the breakfast that is served with hotel voucher is amazing! My cons: the wifi was very slow to get any homework done & the bathroom was small (workable though if you're just here to sleep) Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience our last night on 6/22, at approximately 11:30pm-midnight there was a group of 2-3 men who were wandering outside & being extremely loud. They seemed to be locked outside their room since their key card wasn't working. They came to our door & tried opening our door. Was super annoying since they were talking loud right outside our room for around 20 mins. It was very difficult to go back to sleep as they were continuously being loud. I called front desk after hours and explained the situation; she said "I'm aware, I'm on my way" she apologized till after I told her how hard it was to sleep. 15 minutes later I was very annoyed and scared as they kept pacing back and forth and being very loud. I called again & even texted and had no answer or reply. The employee let them in till about 20 min after I called . This was very unpleasant as we woke up scared, couldn't go back to sleep, & made us realize if the situation was even more urgent how long it would take help desk to show up. As 2 women our priority is safety and last night really made me question my safety. I understand the situation was not the hotel's fault in entirety but the amount of time it took them to resolve & come was concerning and it was discouraging that I didn't get a call/text back. Overall, I was excited to tell my colleagues about this cute and affordable place to stay at a bit close to campus & in middle of downtown. Let's not even talk about how great breakfast was & despite the unpleasant experience I would consider staying here in future again. read more

There was clearly a misunderstanding about the proticol on when they charge you for the stay . They took 1 night and a $100 deposit When I wanted to talk about it the owner is chewing me out .Literally !!! I said 3x that I don't want to argue . I heard ok leave you won't get charged. Then they said well call tomorrow to find out . Unethical ! They give me my portfolio dated tha next day when I did not stay that night !! they are so unprofessional , so rude , and the front desk girl threatens legal action . After she gave me the phone to use !! (they are really low class )she says give me my property !!! Wow They have a $1,000 fine sign if you say your pet is a service dog and not !!! mean souled people I was told I was in the best room they had the air conditioning did not work ! read more

I've been in Turkish prisons that have had better amenities The only thing this hotel has going for it is that it's located in the beautiful city other than that, the city would be better serviced by making this place a parking lot. It's quite obvious that the owner is a complete cheapskate and this is evident by non-existent customer service at the front desk and a bathroom that is unfit for human habitat If you like cold showers and a shower head that has insufficient water pressure to wash your body off then this is your place! To the owner, I have only this to say... You are wasting your skills as a hotel owner and you would be better suited to run a prison where your cost, cutting skills and lack of concern for your guest would be better applied. read more

We stayed at this hotel on 3-20 to 3/25/24. while we hosted my son's baby shower. I will tell you this hotel was super clean very quiet. And the staff were very pleasant, especially front desk worker Jeannette. She was amazing and very sweet. The diner was a plus and the food was delicious. The restaurant next door called "TWENTY 88" Was a hit as well. We will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend, this hotel.!! read more

Dirty. TV didn't turn on. Couldn't log on to WiFi. Was told they were at lobby until 8:00 pm. Went to lobby at 7:30. No one there. Called number No answer. Ever. Was quoted $96. Was charged $160. The Good: A sweet-looking little place from the outside. The suites and rooms with King-sized beds looked nice. The Bad: The rooms with Queen-sized beds were the size of a postage stamp. The shower was a bit dirty (especially the grout.) The bathroom was so tiny that when sitting on the toilet, my knees almost touched the wall (sorry to be somewhat crude). I did not sleep well here. It was a bit noisy at night due to the ice machine or the laundry quarters or something. My pillow smelled weird. The staff from the check in receptionist to the housekeepers were very, very nice. The room appeared cleanish, and did not have carpet (which is cleaner). Bed was so-so. We were planning to eat at their breakfast restaurant but since the room was not really great, I was not ready to give them another shot, so we went elsewhere even though hotel guests get a 10% discount on the breakfast. Decided to book the Bella Capri Inn for a quick one night stay. My expectations were low since I knew this little Inn didn't have any amenities, but it was OK with me since this was a quick in and out trip for me. The Good: Friendly staff upon arrival and at check out Location - safe location, nearby to lots of dining and shopping Free Parking - free parking in the courtyard or on the street Complimentary Made-to-Order Breakfast - at the cafe next door The Not So Good (I stayed in Room #101): The bed in this room is barely acceptable. I could hear (and feel) the springs when sitting/laying down. Definitely needs to be replaced. The shower in this room is unacceptable. It's very small and the shower head is pointed at the shower wall AND it was not adjustable. Therefore in order to rinse you have to push yourself up against the shower wall. Eekkk!! I had an acceptable stay given the price, but I can't say I would book again. read more

We stayed at this hotel because over the years, we passed by here to eat at different restaurants; it looks very cute and appealing. We stayed at room 101---it is a tiny room but clean, however there was no hot water in the shower. This is the middle of summer, so we let it go. But the bed was so tiny and the mattress so old that it was like sleeping in a college dorm room. The parking is convenient in the hotel courtyard. Now we come to the best of all: the free breakfast at next door old town café which we always love. I think we will return, except to another room. read more

The hotel is very spartan, but there are several good points. The entire site--including our room-- is very clean, and reception was welcoming. Location is nice in old town with good restaurants and shops nearby. Conversely, the bathroom was the smallest one I've ever been in, aside from on a cruise ship. The bed was just ok, but pillows were not comfortable and sheets felt cheap. I would probably opt for a different hotel if I am in the area again, or would bring my own pillow and fan to blow air. read more

Had a very good experience here--I had booked a standard 3 room suite and was "upgraded" to the tower suite. Although the "upgrade" was slightly inconvenient as it had only 2 rooms with a living area and small kitchen, overall I was happy. It was very clean, very spacious, and so nice to have space for the kids that came with me to play in the living area. There was a full size fridge and dishes for us to use in the cupboards, which was great. The location was in an older area but still cute and not dumpy or scary by any means. The bathroom was nice, and the style of the rooms was not old. There is no elevator to get to the second floor, and parking is first come first serve (which didn't matter for us because there was plenty of street parking available right in front of the hotel). read more

My son and I got a room here a little last minute, but I'm so grateful because this little Inn is awesome! The customer service is outstanding and they even have a little cafe. Decided to spend a couple of nights here and it didn't disappoint. Made my reservation online. It was a quick and simple process. The room rates were very reasonable. When I checked in, my room was listed as dirty but they upgraded me free of charge. The hotel itself is very cute. Loved the styling. The person who checked me in was cheerful, bubbly and very helpful. She took the time to explain hotel rules, quiet hours, and so on. The room was incredibly clean, the bed comfortable, and the hot water for showers, or baths, was plentiful, they even have a cafe onsite. It is located downtown Camarillo, and has many cute shops and restaurants right outside of the hotel. The parking is safe, secure and located right in the middle of the hotel, which is U shaped, so you do not have to walk far to unload your vehicle. My service animal and I enjoyed it very much and will be coming back in the future. read more

The only reason I didn't give it only one star is that it was clean. But the room was SO tiny we could barely move around. There wasn't room for a chair and you had to step aside to let your companion pass by you. The bathroom was so small- an itty bitty sink, an itty bitty shower that didn't allow you to bend over - I can't believe how small The bed was very soft and creaky and we were next to the stairwell. Since there are no elevators it was quite noisy Be forwarded. But it was clean and the staff was nice but their office really does close at 10 so if you are late you're out of luck read more

What a perfect place to hide. This is my family's "go-to" hotel in Camarillo, where we have family members living. We are a big family, and when we all descend in one place, it takes a hotel....or two. This is our favorite. Clean and so cute. Very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for fancy? Maybe not for you. If you are happy with cute, clean, quaint? Come on in. No, I don't own a piece of the action. We loved our stay here! Had to stay in or near Camarillo, as we were primarily here to visit a friend - scoured reviews of all hotels/motels in the area. (Reviews do enter into my decisions) Charming street, charming hotel. Inviting lobby and super friendly and helpful reception lady. Parking inside the courtyard and outside on the street - always easy to park! Even when we returned from the Bowl late at night, and the area feels quite SAFE. We had one of the smaller rooms, but it was perfectly fine! We had a refrigerator and a microwave and a coffeemaker. Coffee was provided, but I drove to Starbucks close by, coz - well....Starbucks lol : ) Bathroom tiny but CLEAN! Every inch of our room AND the hotel is CLEAN and neat. VERY important to us. Very responsive staff here too. Bed was comfy, sheets were nice and soft, plenty of pillows. TV went in and out, but no problem, coz there is free Wifi and we watched our iPad. One morning we got up at 430 for an early appointment, and the water in the shower would not heat, and maybe it was because it's a vintage hotel and it takes a while for the water to heat - anyhow, there's an emergency number, we called it - and voila! Hot water soon after. Shower had great pressure, very comfortable, and we liked the soaps etc provided. Very nice restaurant on the ground level - had breakfast there twice. I needed to stay somewhere only for the day, as my property was being tented. I was originally planning to check in the night before but due to preparation of tenting that didn't happen, I arrived on site around 8:30, I was still able to keep my reservation and that was great. The original young lady at the front desk was having a few issues checking me in (no worries) she asked a gentleman to help her he got me checked in I went to my room was getting settled in when the phone rang it was Jennette asking if I had a dog with me I said no I had a "cat" she put me on hold once she came back she said cats were not allowed on site while she was speaking to me I heard the gentleman in the background I asked her if he wanted to speak to me or just bark orders in the background, she said sure! He gets on the phone and was very rude saying you must leave the property now and we will issue a refund. I was not able to get two words in before I raised my voice and he said "don't yell at me" excuse me I'm the customer please let me speak, I couldn't get in my cat was a service animal, he says according to ADA cats are not service animals dogs, and small horses only please leave our property! Other than Mark Bury being rude the small property is very inviting. I will be back or recommend most likely not. I'm still waiting for my refund as well as my deposit to be issued. read more

Absolutely the best service. Excellent staff, any issue they are on top of it. I had issue with cable TV. They immediately addressed the issue when they came in the morning and had the cable company reset my cable box right away to ensure I did not have anymore issues. The staff are very kind, professional, and make sure you enjoy your stay. I highly recommend this hotel. I'm very picky and they were so amazing. Great location I'm on foot and plenty in walking distance. Very nice housekeeping too. Also, the little Cafe connected has the best food, great yummy fruit and fresh, fresh food. If staying at the hotel you get a 10% discount at Cafe. The manager I believe his name was Mark Absolutely a sweetheart and professional. So happy I stayed here. FYI- Inn was built in 1957 according to the manager. Which is why the rooms are quite small. Bathroom is tiny with shower barley fits one person. Older decor. No frills. Stayed for 3 nights during the week and the biggest complaint was NO HOT WATER FOR SHOWER! Manager has "canned" answer (as this is a constant complaint) that the hot water system starts at one end of building, therefore anyone on opposite side are stuck if no one close to hot water source is using water! Cold showers in am, lukewarm in evening. One plus is the location but other than that, it's a small step above motel 6. read more

Stayed here with my son for the weekend and we loved it! For being right in the middle of old town I expected some noise but it was quiet and calm from our arrival till checkout. The room was clean although a little smaller than what I had expected. Ample parking and the area felt well lit at night and safe. There are a tons of shops and dining all in walking distance and we enjoyed walking around and trying a new dinner spot. However; what inspired me to even write a review was the amazing front desk staff. She was so genuinely kind and welcoming. She even let us know about an event happening that evening down at the airport that she thought we may enjoy. My husband and I stayed here last night, very last minute. We drove in from out of town and with him being military we'd hoped to stay at Port Hueneme lodging but they were full. Bella Capri came up in our search of surrounding places to stay and we were so pleased with the location of shops and restaurants near by. It's a no frills place but everything was very clean, the bed was comfortable, it was quieter than we anticipated (we stayed on Cinco de Mayo) and the breakfast offered at the small restaurant next door was also very good.
