This gentleman shows up on time, he communicates well, he does what he says he is going to do and when he says he is going to do it, he has an incredible designer eye and the products he recommends and sells/installs are top of line. Before checking Yelp reviews, I called Smith & Noble and got a quote for shutters and blinds which I thought was quite high but was willing to live with. The designer was helpful and said that someone would call within a day or two to set an appointment to do a final measure and give me a final price. A week passed and no one called. I read the Yelp reviews and saw how negative they were. Then I saw the great reviews for Bella Blinds and called them the same day I cancelled with Smith & Noble. Derrick is a one-man operation and he knows his business. His price was less than half of Smith & Noble's. We ordered the shutters and he came and installed them 3 weeks later. Ordered window shutters for our new house. After interviewing 4 different local companies with none really standing out, we had Bella Blinds come out for a quote. Derek's price was very competitive, but the biggest determining factor for us to go with Derek over others was how he came across as a business owner who cares about his business and the service he provides to his customers. Derek does both the sales call and install himself. We moved forward with placing our shutters order with Derek and was told that it would take approximate ~7 weeks for the shutters to be available based on our selection. Fast forward 6 weeks, we get a call from Derek that our shutters are available for delivery and installation. We scheduled a time and Derek showed up on time with an assistant and completed the installation in a few hours, cleaning everything up after themselves. After Derek had left, I noticed a few of the shutters needed some additional adjustments. I called Derek that evening, and he came back the next morning to make the adjustments. I would definitely recommend Bella Blinds/Derek to my friends and family in the future if they ever need window treatments. We have a few more windows we want to do shades instead of shutters, so we'll be calling Bella Blinds/Derek back for that work when the time comes. read more
