DO NOT SHOP HERE. Layton was useless to assist with a return they refused the return and tried to give back $37 for a $100 dress. didn't warn at all that they have a measly 30 day return period. Coming from a retail employee they gave the worst customer service I've ever experienced, and even lied about their capabilities after they made the mistake. Let alone they asked if I needed help while I stood at the registers and after I said yes they proceeded to just stand there talking and ignoring me. I will NEVER be returning and will continue to recommend that no one I know ever shops here again. I hope for the sake of this wonderful community that this horrendous company gets shut down as they are dishonest and untrustworthy. read more

I'm not rating the store. I'm actually rating the Customer Service for online ordering. I have used a Belk credit card for many years now. I earn Belk Reward $$ per shopping trip using that card. Now I'm being told that I don't have access to Belk Rewards. Then why have I earned $10?!? I really enjoy shopping with Belk but I'm ready to cut up my card and send it back!! read more

The worst. We were Crammed in isles with overpriced inventory. The Inaccurate discounts displayed weren't in the register and the customers bear the burden of proof, after waiting in a line in the middle of the isle for twenty minutes. I used to shop at Belk before I moved here a few years back, so I was excited to see there is one in the pavilion. I'm not sure what happened with their customer service training at that particular one, but it is severely lacking. The store in itself is just 'ok'. They don't have a variety of selections as well. The only plus is the shoe sales. That's it. read more

BELK IS MY JAM!! This Belk in particular has some of the best customer service. The sales are decent if you catch them at the right time, and maybe times they have door busters if you get there before 12pm. I came in one time with shoes on sale through the Belk website and the lady looked them up for me and they had them so I ended up saving the $8+ for shipping! The make up and fragrance people are also great! I wish the petite section was larger, but it's seems as though there aren't many women under 5'3 anymore :( this Belk is so awesome! I just wish the cashiers worked a little faster on super busy days like the Saturday before school starts. Belk is also great about taking back returns without hassling you or making you lose out on money. Tip: Save your receipts and almost anything is returnable (within reason I'm sure). I returned a shirt and jewelry that were over a year old! read more

MAC MAKEUP COUNTER INSIDE BELK'S---- Do NOT try to schedule a makeup appointment here for special occasions. I had an appointment the day of prom for 4pm, and was told to wait to the side with tons of other people's families until a chair opened up. While I was standing there crammed between racks of clothing and other people waiting, they handed me a wipe to start taking off my makeup right there. I was understanding for the first bit of waiting- I knew it was a prom day and they had many people wanting to look perfect, but I ended up not getting seated until after 4:45 when my appointment was at 4pm. I was still polite to the makeup artist as I didn't want to stress her out further (she already seemed frantic between having all the employees run to the cash register to check people out and then back to their clients). I showed her a picture of the simple look I was going for and explained I wanted a very light application as I hardly ever wear makeup anymore. Long story short, she never once looked back at the picture I showed her and never explained what exactly she was planning to do. Every time she did something I didn't want, she was already onto the next thing! I had makeup caked all over my face, my neck and foundation were two COMPLETELY different colors, and my eyes were so black that I looked like a panda. It was so bad my tears cut through layers of foundation. It cost me $50 (you buy some makeup products to get the makeover) and I left with a horrible application and some makeup I'll never use anyways. This entire incident made me late to my prom. I'd say this could be a nice place on a NOT busy day, when the employees are actually focused on you. Do not go if you're depending on a great look for a special occasion on a busy day. read more

BEWARE CUSTOMERS shopping online this year for Christmas. I ordered a 75.00 Christmas Gift Card and got the envelope in the mail yesterday ripped open with a sticker on it from the Post Office showing they received it damaged. Well I chatted in with customer service to let them know but ended up having to call in and stay on the phone for 77 minutes to find out that I got screwed out of 75.00. I was informed that they treat Gift Cards like cash so if you don't get you are just out of luck. I told them the envelope that BELK ships out their gift cards in was ripped open and noted by the Post Office. After no help what so ever to make this right I reached out to the Post office to see what the next steps were, they said the shipper had to file a claim. When I entered the tracking # to see if I could start a claim I got a message that this tracking had no insurance on it so a claim could not be filed. This is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Since I have also cancelled my Belk Credit Card and no longer plan to do business with a retailer than that. I work to hard for my money and don't appreciate them not willing to at least attempt to void the gift card out, refund my purchase, or issue another card out. NOPE they just said I was out of luck. Shop at Macy's they have better quality in merchandise, staff, and policies! read more
