Florida 2025: Unfortunately with the Gen Z and Millennial folks who hire new employees, they will not hire Gen X 45-60 years old or any senior age 60 and older. The preference in hiring is someone in their 20-35 years old range and preferably Spanish speaking. In interviewing potential new employees, loyalty to the job, never calling off, willing to work extra shifts, coming in early to work, working really hard and enthusiastically, being customer oriented, dressed professional in interviewing with a professional resume and cover letter, having college degrees, and having relevant work experiences mean nothing to the Gen Z and Millennial hiring folks. I've never been to a Belk before, but made a quick stop because I needed to use the restrooms. Needless to say, I ended up shopping too because they had really good deals! Overall it was a nice, clean store. There wasn't anything special except for the deals, but you can find that any store. I'd shop here again if I'm ever in the area. read more

My aunt and I were shopping at our local Belk store in Leesburg. We were in the store a little over an hour browsing throughout the store. During that time none of the employees greeted us or asked if we needed help finding anything which is understandable as it was late in the day. We gathered our items in a cart and began the hunt for a fitting room. The 2 normal fitting rooms were closed. We noticed a woman stacking boxes. We were unsure if she worked there because she was dressed very casually and was not wearing a name tag. My aunt said "excuse me ma'am" the reply was "yeah". She proceeded "Do you work here"? "Uh yeah" (with eye roll) as if it was obvious she worked there. "Can you tell us where your fitting rooms are"? The employee replied "Yea it's straight down on the left there will be someone elese that can help you". We walked down to the other end of the store. The fitting room on the left that we saw near lingerie was also closed like the one at the front entrance of the store. We saw another employee behind the register we asked her "excuse me ma'am is there a fitting room we can use". With no eye contact said yea it's right behind this wall. We close in 30 minutes so put the clothes you don't want on the rack. At this point I was frustrated with the lack of customer service. Upon checking out we avoided both ladies and went to a nice friendly employee at the makeup counter. While she was checking us out, we told her about our experience. She apologized for her colleagues. A few moments later the initial employee we encounted came screaming at the customers behind us "This register is open", they hesitated because of her tone and body language. She then yelled "You want to get checked out or what"? I had to laugh at her audacity. The couple just looked at her and then the wife nudged her husband to go to her checkout counter. Again the employee assisting us apologized for her co-workers behavior. The last time I shopped at Belk's was over a year ago for this very reason. I spent over $400 and the customer service was awful. I am not sure how to remedy this situation as it seems to be a trend now in all customer service. I was gifted a sweater and a vest, each over $60 for Christmas by my grandmother from this store. I hadn't even tried them on when I took them back less than a week later to simply get a credit for something I would wear more often and I was SHOCKED when the lady scanned each tag and offered me 11.99 for the 60.99 sweater and 4.99 for the 64.99 vest. I was confused and asked why they would be on sale for that low of an amount already when they were just bought not 2 weeks ago and her response was oh they're not on sale. I said well where are you getting those low numbers from and she stated that corporate is only willing to give me that much on credit because I do not have the receipt. (As I did not buy them) Both items had tags , purchased within a week at that location and never worn, not on sale and yet they refused to exchange them for what was paid. Maybe people should start stealing from them more, that way they'll go out of business and not be able to get one over on people that pay full price trusting there's a fair return system in place supported this thieving company. Insane to walk out seeing the vest being sold on the racks for 64.99 yet they offered me a 4.99$ credit WTF I can only hope this place goes out of business. TERRIBLE read more

I drove to the Lake Square Mall in Leesburg, Fl and walked into S---. I could not find what I wanted. so I walked out and into BELKS, A DEPARTMENT STORE. THIS WAS SUNDAY AROUND 5PM. a LADY NAMED Jennie James helped me to go everywhere I needed to be and purchase. Then there was Pam and the young man as the Lanacome Cosmetic Counter.
