Looking at the reviews I must of stopped in on a good day. I found a parking space realitively…read moreclose to the entrance, immediately after entering the store I found a friendly associate, so I asked her where the shipping items were located and she provided me with accurate information and offered to show me which I declined not wanting to waste her time. I found everything I needed without having to go on a time consuming search of the store and found a check-out line that had only a few customers ahead of me with a very friendly checker that greeted me with a smile and asked me if I had found everything okay and thanked me for stopping and wished me a good day. This is how it's supposed to work and you have the ability to make it work this way if you practice patiences and are respectful...

Here's a review that is long, long, long overdue. I have been to many Walmarts in my life, and this…read moreone is one of the worst. Where to begin? Lets start with the parking lot. The parking lot is downright scary. The traffic in and out of the lot is nuts, the folks perpetually hanging out in the lot look rough, and it's hard to decide where in the lot to park because the staff is constantly locking entrances to the store without warning. The back entrance (lawn and garden) is often locked way sooner than it should be, and the same is true for the home goods section. God forbid you park at the wrong entrance at the wrong time, and you'll be doing a TON of walking. Once you walk into the store, you'll immediately be sorry that you did. The city of Mt Dora is a charming, historic town known for it's quaint shops, gorgeous downtown, arts and crafts festival, etc. However, you wouldn't know that by walking into this Walmart. It's crammed packed full of rude, miserable looking patrons and employees. It's almost always crowded, and folks here will straight up run you over if you don't get out of their way. Ill-mannered doesn't even begin to describe it. Yes, they've shut down most of their self checkout registers, but they've done so without hiring the necessary staff to adequately deal with demand. So good luck checking out in a reasonable amount of time. The clearance section at this location is also terrible. Often they only mark the items down a few pennies, or the items in this section aren't even priced. The collectibles section near electronics never gets anything new in stock. It's a barren wasteland. They had a deal going on a Walmart+ subscription. We signed up (rewarding bad behavior, I realize) just so that we can get groceries delivered right to our door, and never have to step foot inside this location again. It's that bad. Most of the other stores in Mt Dora are actually quite lovely. I'll never understand why this store is so much worse than the rest of Mt Dora's establishments.

What happened to Kohls?…read more We went in looking for a suit for an upcoming event and since we haven't been in months, we were shocked at how empty the store was and the lack of variety. Kohls used to be trendy with something for all ages and I felt like the womens department was for the librarians or 65 and older ladies. Clothing and home decor was terrible. We hope other locations like Waterford or hunters creek have a bit more because we didn't even get good customer service from the only cashier there. We asked her to look up a pair of pants to see what other locations have them in stock and she looked at us like a deer in headlights. I said " do you not have someone at the customer service counter that can assist or the scanners you used to have that we could do it from " and she didn't even know what I was asking ! Terrible location ...

They offer online of course and curbside pickup, but some items we like to eyeball because of complex styles and sizing and so on. Plus we had one of those offers for 35% off if you do this, and bonus bucks if you do that, so we went for in-person shopping. It was later than I thought - 4:30 rush hour, so I figured with our luck it will be busy even with the pandemic caution out there. But no, I just saw ten or so other customers the whole time we were there. They have hand sanitizer when you go in, and a spray disinfectant for your shopping cart (not cart really, you know those funny baskets on wheels.) But we brought our own shopping baskets. I don't think masks are required, but all staff and customers I saw were masked, which is good with the growth in cases since the reopening of the state. They encourage distancing at the registers, but, again, that wasn't an issue for this visit. The prices and selection pretty good, except for a cherry pitter tool we saw on their website (okay that was a long shot) and curtains. All they had were 80 inch length curtains, and we needed 63. But we found all the clothing items we wanted. And now we have $20 in Kohl's cash to go back with in a few days if we want to use it.
