They hold events ( fashion show when we were there ), they are keeping vacancy low, with some interesting stores one would not have seen in a mall back in the day. It is not one of these desolate malls with mostly rolled down grates and piles of shelving in the dark interior. There is a pulse to the place. The bookstore is a draw as it is so large ( and sometimes has kittens on Saturdays ). The shoestore is big too. The Belk is hanging in there, they have closed some entrances and fitting rooms, but it is not all stained carpets and broken shelving like one would see at Sears at the end.

Kohls used to be trendy with something for all ages and I felt like the womens department was for the librarians or 65 and older ladies. Clothing and home decor was terrible. We hope other locations like Waterford or hunters creek have a bit more because we didn't even get good customer service from the only cashier there. We asked her to look up a pair of pants to see what other locations have them in stock and she looked at us like a deer in headlights. I said " do you not have someone at the customer service counter that can assist or the scanners you used to have that we could do it from " and she didn't even know what I was asking ! For an adult, it was tasty. All in all, this was a great spot for lunch. We filled our bellies and departed with leftovers.

While the similar store down the road that we visited the same day I downgraded in score and bought nothing, we did buy a few things here and did still get the impression that it was possible to get some good deals. So if you are in the neighborhood visiting thrift stores ( of which there are several nearby ) , or liquidator type places, this one is worth stopping into.

This is to be expected - and I don't see much reason to return. Overall, they had a smaller selection than other Ollie's, and it was more disorganized and borderline messy than we expected. The stuff just wasn't impressive - in quality, brand, or even pricing. It was pretty busy, too - and there was 1 cashier and a line of 10 customers waiting. I'm not sure I would've waited the half hour to get the item we wanted even if it was there. Lesson learned.

The comics in this location are on three different shelves, so make sure you don't miss any of them. It's not a bad idea to look around the whole books area. I found stacks of comics placed by staff who likely didn't know where they actually belonged. The comics here are. Not. Organized. At. All. So it takes about an hour to look through all of them. It's worth the effort since that's the way I've found hidden gems. I'm not ashamed to say that I bring a pair of knee pads with me when I go to any Ollie's location. I can't squat long enough to search through the lowest shelves, especially when they're so disorganized. A properly organized Ollie's only takes about ten minutes to go through. But that's up to the book manager's discretion. It's a shame really, since the rest of the books area is so perfectly organized. Gotta dock a star for this location.
