We were expecting to take a tour of the factory, but it's only a chocolate shop. Good selection of chocolates though!

AMBIANCE Parking: Old San Juan so it gets busy. You got your street parking, garage parking, but when in doubt, try to ride share or just come early. Seating: Not much seating really moreover a spot for a grab and go. Vibes: Old San Juan is already full of charm, and Montadero fits right in. The shop is warm, inviting, and beautifully showcases Puerto Rican chocolate. You can tell there's a genuine appreciation for craftsmanship--from the beautifully displayed bonbons to the stories behind the cacao. I appreciated that it felt intimate rather than commercial. CHOCOLATES Hazelnut covered Puerto Rican Chocolate (Recommend) Simple, elegant, and incredibly satisfying. I dig the dark powder and coco and that rich hazelnut center. Rich and not overly sweet. This is the type of chocolate you slow down and enjoy as you are on vacation. CUSTOMER SERVICE Wonderful. Friendly and welcoming. The staff was happy to answer questions about the chocolates. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. Wonderful choices, beautiful craftsmanship, and reasonable prices. It's a wonderful way to experience one of Puerto Rico's local treasures. Montadero isn't just selling chocolate--it's but highlighting Puerto Rican cacao. Whether you're a chocolatier or want to get a thoughtful souvenir, this is the spot. TIPS * Try one of the handcrafted bonbons!

The chocolate was so silky and rich, and that fruit filling was so tart and bright. The chocolates are made with real Puerto Rican cacao, grown and harvested about an hour away from the shop, and the fillings are also made with local ingredients. You can chase the love in the chocolate. And you can tell the passion that goes into their chocolate making. The lady in the shop was so excited to Show me around and tell me all about the history of the shop and they're approach to chocolate making. As a self-appointed chocolate snob, I have a deep appreciation for passion in chocolate making. Do not miss this hidden gem of a shop. Stop in for a sweet treat, or a coffee. You won't regret it.

Oh boy... this was a 10/10!…read more After spending a long, hot day exploring Old San Juan with the kids, we stopped by Cortés ChocoBar in Condado for something cold, and it was exactly what we needed. We ordered three of their frozen chocolate drinks, and every single one was absolutely delicious. Thankfully, it wasn't busy when we stopped by, so it was the perfect place to cool off and take a break from the heat. The café had a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I asked if one of the frozen drinks could be split for the kids, and although they didn't split it for us, they happily gave us two extra cups so we could divide it ourselves. It was a simple gesture that we really appreciated. The frozen chocolate drink was rich, creamy, refreshing, and perfectly chocolatey without being overly sweet. Even the whipped cream was delicious, especially with the chocolate pieces on top. Everyone in our group loved it, and it quickly became our favorite sweet treat of the trip. Whenever we're craving something cold and chocolatey during our stay in Puerto Rico, this will definitely be our go-to spot. We can't wait to come back and try their bonbons before we head home!

I've bought them at the grocery store for my mother over the years when I couldn't find Menier. I was hoping to see some unique desserts at Chocobar Cortés. Let's just say that the chocobar at this location was not what I was expecting. It's like an express version of their original one in Old San Juan. This is located in the lobby of the Condado Palm Hotel. There are 2 entrances. Don't make the same mistake we did by trying to access at street level. That door is locked. You'll need to enter through the hotel lobby. The service is very slow here. There was only one other person there. We ordered a box of 6 chocolates and payed for it. I'm guessing he was making a drink for the other guest because he asked us to wait a few minutes. It ended up being longer so he told his colleague (who just came back from a break) to make up the chocolate box for us. Unfortunately, it took even longer as this other guy was more interested in the 2 young girls who just walked in. The chocolate bonbons were good, but nothing unique. It's the same artisan chocolates that you see everywhere for the same high price. Perhaps this location is better for their specialty cocktails in the evening time. I was looking forward to trying the choco-latte at some point. I doubt there will be a next time.
