This is a long-overdue review of Belfor and, as the phrase goes, "if I could give them zero stars, I would." Our HOA complex suffered severe damage from a January 2022 windstorm. We had structural damage to buildings, garages, walls, etc. Belfor sounded great and their salesman, Suraj Lutchmansingh, sure talked the talk. But that's about all they did. What little work they actually completed over a period of MONTHS was shoddy, incomplete, and FAILED CITY INSPECTION. I sent a personal letter to their leadership, asking if they would approve this work in their own communities, to which I received no reply. They failed to respond or explain any of the garbage work they performed and never apologized for failing to meet contractual obligations. They even had the gall to continue sending our HOA bills for work that was NEVER completed. They received a C&D letter from our attorney in response, but still made off with over $40,000. Where is the "zero" stars button? This review is long overdue. Our experience with Belfour Restoration was and continues to be nothing less than terrible. The HOA hired this company to restore damages caused by a roof leak. They farted around for months. After taking their sweet time to repair the mold, walls and baseboards- they removed our flooring. They said they were going to replace it with something comparable. We trusted them. This is where we messed up. The flooring that they installed was not only horrendous, but it was completely inferior to what we had. When we brought this up, they pitched a fit, they told their workers to immediately leave the job. We had Nails floorboards exposed for months. We ended up having to go through our insurance company to get the matter resolved. But that's not all... As of this writing, they continue to send us a bill. We have called several times to inform them that we are not their client. The bills should be going to the HOA. When we bring this to Belfour attention. Their response is that HOA is not responding. How is this our problem?!?! This is the abbreviated version. Some other points that are worthy of mention is that they are slow. We had plastic tents hanging up for weeks before, and after the mold was fixed. They attempted to reuse the materials like the quarter rounds and base boards and they never finished repairing the carpet padding where the leak started. There's more but, the review would be too long. .As the old cliché goes, looks can be deceiving. A collared shirt and company vehicle does not reflect the quality of work or level of service that you will receive. Belfour come for me if you like. But before you do, come pick up the lockbox that you left at our front door for reasons unbeknownst to us. read more

I was a little skeptical because of the reviews on BELFOR property Restoration. However, after my experience with them and Andrew, they are very professional and fast. Which is something that when you are out of your home whether it be due to an incident or even just remodeling you want to get back in as soon as possible to resume your normal life. You can count on BELFOR to give you a fair and quick estimate to begin the restoration of your as home as soon as possible, so don't listen to the negative reviews as we tend to leave more of those than positive. Horrible company. They tried to go cheap on everything including not painting whole walls. Not sanding before painting, not texturing on repairs on the stairs, etc. They didn't even remove wall plates before painting the walls so they all had paint on them. I had to go back buy more paint and repaint areas because it looked so bad. Then they tried to get me to sign a document that said a final walkthrough was done and the punch list was all completed. No final walk through was ever done. Finally got a manager to come see all the issues but I am not letting them back in my house. I would rather pay out of pocket to get the issues resolved than let them back in. read more

I had some water damage in my home due to my water heater malfunctioning. My insurance company referred me to Belfor for the estimate of repairs. Steven was able to get an estimate done quickly and worked with my insurance company to get everything rolling. I generally work a lot of hours and am hardly home so he was very accommodating in my scheduling and still managed to communicate with me regularly via text and email (my preferred method). Shout out to Junior and crew for also finishing the repairs earlier then expected, sending me pictures and also managing to keep my house pretty clean even with all the construction going on. read more

Belfor performed repairs for me after water damaged parts of my home. Sevrpo was the company that came out to tear out all the wet walls and floors. But after my experience with Steven Moise at Belfor I wish he could have taken care of the whole process for me instead. I read 4 other reviews on here about Steven that are spot on and represents his customer service and knowledge. There is one review on here that is negative about him...that person sounds like they didn't give Steven the chance to work with them. I wish I had the great experience as others. However I found my (-5) experience to be quite the opposite. Steven's phone call back started wrong questioning my estimate.,and I gave it the benefit of the doubt anyway. Steven came to my home to give me an estimate and questioned again the estimate value given to me through my insurance company. This was becoming troublesome,my response to Steven "How long have you been in this business. His answer was eight years". My response, if you came to give me an honest estimate with your experience, this small damage would not be a problem. I told Steven everything he needed to know and what was included in the estimate, even the moving and cleaning hours. Steven said he needed to see my adjuster's estimate to compare his estimate making sure he was including the right things. I asked Steve why didn't he just ask how much money was in my bank account??? To ask this question several times and to act as if he couldn't give an accurate estimate for simplistic things. My insurance company gave me the estimate and three other companies. So I called Steven, because he never sent over his estimate. Steven had called my insurance adjuster because?? I wouldn't give him the information I guess. Well none of my other estimates required that information and since I work with contractor's in construction I kind of knew better, and I checked while Steve was at my home to see if I needed to give him that information . The answer was, if I wanted to. I told Steven I called and checked, and I did not have to give him that information. But I did offer to show Steven the estimate after he finished his estimate and surprisingly he didn't ask. Instead he told me to call him in case he forgot to send me the estimate. I'm hoping this incident didn't happen because I was a woman. I'm sure Belfor didn't get to this point with the surprising dishonest tactics I encountered with Steven. Furthermore I hope Belfor takes the time to impart what integrity, honesty,values and the importance of what their modeling goals are, so no one else has to go through the same experience as I did. We had a manifold leak behind a wall that did quite a bit of water damage in one of our rentals. We called our insurance and they gave us an option to find our own people or they recommended BELFOR and would have them call us. We chose their recommendation and were called within a couple hours to get the ball rolling. Steve Moise coordinated the entire repair from the mitigation, to the asbestos check and the repair. Steve kept both the tenant and us informed all the way. We are very happy with the completed job, the service people that worked on the repairs and the time frame. Everything was done with care not to inconvenience the tenants and they even set up their home school in another area while the repairs were completed. We would not hesitate to recommend BELFOR and Steve Moise for any property restoration you might have.
