Man I really miss this food truck popping by my work every Wednesday last year! Bel Cibo delivers some of the tastiest hot sandwiches you can get in Boise! I urge anyone to give them a try if you see them hanging out. All their sandwiches are $8 or $10 if you add fries and drink. It might seem steep, but it's definitely worth it. One meal could feed two. The high quality ingredients and deliciousness further justify the price. My absolute favorite and number one recommendation is the Hobieyaki (grilled chicken teriyaki with slaw drizzled with creamy Asian sauces topped with sesame seeds). My first bite into this holy sandwich and I lost all my senses. All I knew was that I was eating one of the most delicious sandwiches I'd ever had. The chicken is grilled so perfect and bursting with flavor. If you try one sandwich from Bel Cibo it's gotta be this one. I've also had the Greengo Pork (slow roasted carnita style shredded pork on green chile cream cheese and slaw topped with roast green chile salsa, fresh onion and cilantro) and the Shrimpie (grilled shrimp on slaw drizzled with creamy Asian sauce topped with cucumber pico). Both were outstanding! I'd like to highlight the shrimp used in the sandwich isn't the disgusting tiny crap that comes in a can. It's the big juicy kind you can actually enjoy. I've never talked much to the owners because they've always been so busy when I'm there but they seem like a very nice family. I wish they would park their truck around town again but I haven't seen them since COVID. I hope to see them very soon! read more

Bel Cibo This Boise-based food truck is one of my favorites. The name means "beautiful food." Owners Leo and Jana Berejkoff are serving up high quality, hearty and deliciously wonderful sandwiches that rival any I have ever had. I am an omnivore, but I also cook, so it is rare that I get excited about sandwiches or chicken in general, but Bel Cibo's break all the rules. I have visited Bel Cibo twice within three weeks and have tried three of the sandwiches, all of which are available as Tacos for those that require a gluten-free diet. There are four sandwiches available daily, all of which rotate with the exception of the top-seller Hobie Yaki. The Hobie Yaki is the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. It is better even than the former Seattle restaurant Baguette Box's Crispy Drunken Chicken sandwich, which made that restaurant famous. Truth be told, I was reluctant to try the Hobie Yaki, as well as The Shrimpie because I have an adversion to "sweet meat." I am the rare female that prefers savory to sweet and I do not enjoy anything that skews too sweet as an entree. As a result, I find most teriyaki too sweet. The Hobie Yaki is grilled chicken teriyaki on slaw, drizzled with creamy Asian sauce, topped with sesame seeds.It's difficult to describe the complexity of the sandwich. The average person is going to find it incredibly delicious. Those who cook ate going to marvel at the layers of flavor (including smoky) textures and temperatures that elevate this sandwich beyond all expectations. For my first visit, my friends SH and JG both got The Kickin' Creole, which both loved. I was struggling to decide between the three remaining sandwiches because the description of each made me fear that "sweet meat "was involved. Sensing my dilemma, the young man who was working with Leo, kindly offered to make me a 1/2 and 1/2 sandwich, essentially one whole sandwich comprised of two different half sandwiches. I resisted, feeling that was too much trouble in an unreasonable request, but he insisted. I am glad he did because I had the opportunity to try the Hobie Yaki and The Shrimpie, both of which are excellent. These sandwich descriptions sound somewhat similar, as both have slaw and creamy Asian sauce, but they are entirely different. On my second visit, I was picking up a sandwich for a friend, who left it up to me to decide what to order for them. I asked Jana if I could order two different sandwiches and have them package them as 1/2and1/2s in the back. She kindly agreed. I knew for sure that one of the sandwiches must be the Hobie Yaki, but I was struggling to decide on the second, when Jana suggested I try the Greengo Pork, which is based on Leo's famous carnitas recipe and a big part of the reason why the Berejkoffs decided to open a food truck. Given that, how could I resist? The Greengo Pork sandwich is slow roasted "carnitas style "shredded pork on green chili cream cheese and slaw, topped with roasted green chili salsa, ground mustard and black and bell pepper. Jana shared that she never liked carnitas until she tried Leo's. I on the other hand, have never encountered Carnitas I did not enjoy, but like everything the Berejkoffs do, the Greengo Pork is fantastic! Indigo and I had lunch here yesterday. They are very helpful and thoughtful people who treat you like family. The fries were the best I've had in awhile and their mashed potato balls are a must! MUST! I enjoyed the grilled honey mustard chicken sandwich (although I'm not a sandwich person). The ingredients were real and fresh and I was comfortable sharing everything with Indigo. My first visit to this food drink. The staff are friendly. The sides: They offer Pepsi products; the French Fries were seasoned and tasty. They were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Their fry sauce was very good and similar to taste as the Rusty Dog. The main dish: Steak and peppers- very good flavor. Wow. These folks stepped up and catered our event with less than 3 weeks notice and were incredibly hospitable to our requests, as well as helpful in suggesting options. I fealt all of the food was of high and amazing quality. It was fresh and well balanced with amazing little tweaks of spice to accenuate the focus of the dish. Oh, and their fusion jalapeno poppers were off the chart. This husband and wife duo provides an AWESOME product and menu at a very reaspnable price. I've since eaten here several mores times and tried the Cali-Girl (chicken, bacon, ranch, avocado) and the Shrimpie (grilled shrimp, slaw, yumminess). Everything I've tried has been fresh, delicious, and very high quality. Even the fries they serve have always been perfectly cooked and the homemade fry sauce is some of the best I've tasted. Still a little on the pricey side but for the friendly customer service, large portions, and delicious food, it's worth it. Give them a try if you see them around town!! read more
