Worse deli service so slow can't even scoop prepared food in a reasonable amount of time

I think your digital deals are completly wrong. Confusing,often don't work, and must buy multiple's unfair to retired couples who buy singles. You also have, sometimes 4 different costs, on 1 product in a weeks time. You often run out of your best deals on the first day of your sale. There is one last thing, are all grocerie stores owned by the same company? One store has chicken on sale, they all have it on sale. One store changes their newspaper ad, they all change. Tried to surprise the wife and buy a watermelon. Went in, found the produce department but didn't see any watermelons. Then I saw a sign for personnel watermelons, on sale for $2.97. Looked at the sign for small print, just to make sure. Went to check out and it scanned at twice the price. Looked around for a clerk for help. Didn't see one. Waited awhile and then decided to leave. As I walked out I saw a clerk bent over at a work station looking at her phone. Bel Air is high priced but I usually trust the quality. It was my first time coming to this Bel Air while visiting family. I needed to get some items for a party for my cousins graduation party and I had no idea where everything was. I needed a cake, some decorations, balloons, cards, and drinks. Once I went in I was helped by Bella when I was looking at cakes and I just told her about my needs and she gave me a whole map for me to get the things I needed for the party. I was in and out within 15 minutes and there were no issues, everything was where she advised it was. A great experience for a first time there. read more

I frequented this location on a regular basis. I've been hesitant to write this review cause it can be considered controversial. Last week (October 3, 2023 around 6:30pm) I was going to run in there for a couple of last minute dinner ingredients and out front was a homeless person screaming at people. Not just yelling, SCREAMING the F-word every other word on the top of their lungs. I decided not to go in cause I was extremely uncomfortable. I noticed a father and his 2 young children walking out and they seemed very nervous and uncomfortable. I know it's not the the fault of the store to have people like this trespassing and disturbing the peace. I did call and asked to talk to the manager to let them know what's happening out in the front of their doors and a male (didn't get his name) answered. I made him aware and he said "Ok. I'll take care of it". I sat in the car for 15 minutes to see if anything would happen but no one ever came out. Not even a little peek outside to confirm. I guess I was just expecting something (anything) from the manager. I'd assume he'd be concerned for the safety of his employees and customers. I thought about calling Placer County Sheriff but I unfortunately made the assumption the manager might take the initiative to do that. I didn't expect him to put himself in any type of danger nor approach the individual but at least take a look outside to verify and assess the situation and possibly make that phone call to Placer County Sheriff. The homeless person was obviously on drugs and was having an episode of some type and I was concerned for others. I'm really disappointed the manager didn't have any concern for his customers and fellow employees. Especially when he said he'd "take care of it". Don't say it if you have no intention of doing anything... I decided to leave and purchase what I needed elsewhere. Look, I understand the homeless issue is not exclusive to this particular location and it's getting out of control but it's definitely a place they like to hang out. It's a regular occurrence and I can see a situation escalate into a possible assault on a customer or employee. I suggest the manager take every situation like that more seriously. I've decided to drive the extra distance to the Raley's on the other side of town to buy my groceries from now on. I also made fellow neighbors on Nextdoor aware of the lack of concern as well. Again, I didn't expect the manager to put himself in any danger but he completely dismissed a customers concern and that's not a very good sign of quality customer service. I ordered (online) three party platters for a small gathering: sandwiches, rollers, and veggie/sandwich toppings. Everything was fresh and wonderful and prepared on time, and the employees were friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable. I will be happy to order there again. It was a good experience. I have been shopping at raleys and Belair since I was a kid all of their foods have good flavors and are very nutritious. I came here the other day with my mom and we decided to do a little bit of shopping after running around and one of our favorite go to items is the pre-made meatloaf it is really good and very simple to reheat and also it's a lot easier than making meatloaf by scratch. Lol and also I decided to check out the Pete's coffee over there and I got myself an iced caramel macchiato which was amazing. I asked the girl to make a little bit extra sweet and it tasted perfection, my mom decided to get some pork chops for her dinner and so we came home with a lot of yummy delicious stuff including a chocolate Bundt cake and much more. My mom couldn't believe how easy the pork chops were. She said it cut through just like butter and taste amazing I love shopping at Raleys and Bel Air because their meats are great quality one of my favorite items there is there turkey in the deli is so good and has such a wonderful flavor everybody I encounter that he was very friendly very helpful especially when I couldn't find certain items they didn't just point to the I aisle they walked me over to it I have had when I've asked other stores where something is and they say it's on that aisle and points left. That doesn't help me out much lol it's a lot easier to have somebody show me where it is that way for next time I know where to find it. This is definitely a place for everyone. They don't just have food. They have items. They have really beautiful plants. They have something for everybody, they also have very delicious donuts. Also one of my weaknesses and one of my favorites and the soft cookies they have are amazing. This is definitely one of my favorite grocery stores to shop at. You could tell that it's fine foods and you could tell by the taste everything is definitely affordable definitely one of my favorite places to shop. I think I found my new favorite Bel Air to shop at even though it is a little drive for me. I would rather have a little drive, and receive great quality, and all the food and products that I am about to indulge into. My mom and myself couldn't believe how large and how beautiful the store was. We were both pretty amazed with how great our shopping experience was how friendly the cashier was how friendly everybody was in the store. It was definitely a great warm experience they don't just treat you like another customer. They treat you like you were at home and that is definitely a warm, comforting, feeling I like to experience when going into a grocery store are used to work for Albertsons and this reminds me of Albertsons a lot very warm feeling very friendly very nice establishment with many delicious foods to choose from. They even have for vegans beyond meat selections and they have other vegan products so if you think you have to just go to one store no I sell several different vegan products available which I think is very nice for people who are vegan that they have it all they're conveniently located. They also have a very huge medicine selection and much more. If I could get a 10 star reading, I absolutely would. This store absolutely is very well-maintained. Very on top of everything and not one shelf was missing a product. Everything was very well stocked. The isles were very large isles and you definitely will leave with more but at least you know you'll be getting a good deal and you will be able to indulge into some good products and also a lot of people don't know what I learned when I came in she came in is that when you sign up for the something extra program it signed you up and every time you enter your phone number you get points towards stuff and this includes Pete's coffee when you buy 10 cups of coffee you're your 11th one is free who doesn't like free coffee I know I love it and also they give you points towards fuel and then when you reach enough points, they will mail you coupons of your favorite items to use for your next shopping experience. This even can include five dollars off of your bill or $11 off your bill who doesn't like saving money I know I do, and also when you download your Raley's's app, you can sign up for digital coupons which you clip before you go to the register and you get the additional savings. I love saving money so this is definitely a win-win for me. I will definitely be coming back here again very soon for future visits were great experiences. I can't recommend this establishment more because it is just so awesome and I look forward to my next visit here again very soon it will probably be at the café again lol cause I love coffee and definitely more meats and bakeries. This Bel Air proved to be a nice stopover for sandwiches on the way up the hill to the Grass Valley area. Bel Air seems to be a chain that prefers locations on the outskirts of major metros, meaning less traffic, big clean stores and a great selection. In short: If I lived closer, I'd much prefer this store to the urban stores I visit near downtown Sac. Despite having countless early morning sandwich orders to fill, the lady helping me was able to pump out three quality sandwiches for my hungry carload in a matter of minutes. There are plenty of options to choose from in terms of ingredients and all were quality and fresh. Biting into the sandwich later while sitting on the banks of the Yuba, I was convinced it was as good as many small local shops I frequent. They also had a clean bathroom during a time (COVID-19) when a lot of bathrooms weren't available. I don't often go to grocery stores for the bathroom, but when I do it is appreciated to have one in decent order! read more

Service is awful constantly. I stopped by today to get a Covid testing kit. The reason is my wife tested positive so I was making sure I'm ok, which I was. I decided to go to the deli to get a bite while there. All I have to say is that things have changed with workers. These folks don't care at all. At every stop throughout my experience was met with in difference. I won't go back to this store again. Although Raleys and Bel Aire fall under the same umbrella, Raleys is superior on every level. This is the worst Bel Air/Raleys in the area. If you're a glutton for punishment then this is the place to get your shopping done. The rude employees will ignore you, other customers and pretend that you're invisible. Your arm will tire as you raise it and wave to the butchers all the while they just ignore you and the other customers waiting for help. Next try to get someone- anyone! to help you at the bakery counter. They will look straight at you at walk by. Go ahead and chase them down and try to get their attention. Good luck! Oh and the shelves are not stocked. Huge areas of nothing on the shelves. Now you're really going to punish yourself when you check out. 2 lanes open. Slowest of the slow checkers. Customers 5 deep waiting to check out. Now comes more fun. The checker is alerted to an item that rang up incorrectly. So to thank me he rang it up twice instead of issuing the credit! I asked for help at the self check out to correct the wrong charge and the employee was so rude I vowed to never set foot in this store again. I asked for a Manager and she mumbled he's at lunch. What a shame that this store has declined to the point of avoiding it all cost. I want to comment about pre-prepared salads. I am single, so I've been purchasing this type of meal for some time. I've noticed a difference and want to compliment Bel Air on their packed bowls of salad. I have purchased from three markets, and for cost Bel Air consistently provides the most variety and a salad I would make. Full of delicious extras. Its larger than the others, slivered almonds, cranberries, cut chunks of chicken and lots of Spinach, lots of shredded cheese. I added raspberries and Bel Airs delicious salad dressing is provided. So I came in around a week ago and I asked a man where a specific produce item is and he just scoffed at me and walked away. After I was done, I was checking out and the same man was bagging my groceries, I didn't see his name but he was tallish with glasses, and he put all my bread item on the bottom of the bag!!! I like this store and go here often when I'm in Grass Valley. Recently, over the last few visits, the produce man has been rude to my mother. I didn't learn about this until today but I can't even begin to express how angry it makes me. So much so, that I'd like to smack him in the face with a cucumber. This Bel Air location deserves my full 5 star rating during my last two visits past weekend, passing through town. Here is why... 1. The store is clean, organized, and well stocked. I can find items quite easily. 2. The deli is incredible with many tasty and delicious items. Writing this review made me craved for my two absolute favorites, the kale salad and the three color cheese ravioli. 3. The staff is very courteous, friendly, and super helpful. 4. The fruit selection is amazing. It's crazy that this place had better fruits than Safeway in San Francisco. I discovered that the oranges, the pears (red, green, and brown) were super sweet. 5. The bathroom was clean with toilet paper and paper towels. 6. The line was short. The checkout was quick. The checkers was very friendly and efficient. This store has the hardest working employees, kind and helpful even under pressure. I couldn't locate an item, and the assistant manager, Hans, was super friendly. He quickly showed me right to the quinoa I needed for a new recipe I was trying out. Often times, people working in a store will just point out where to go and expect you to wander around looking for it, not with this guy. He was busy, but he still led me right to the product with a positive attitude and a smile. This kind of experience makes me a loyal customer. read more

Anytime I need help finding something someone is happily able to assist me. Their meat department has the best cuts of meat, produce is always fresh and bakery is great!!! Never helpful, always dismissive and totally ruins my buying experience. I do my absolute best to avoid this place because of the treatment I receive here. This is specifically for Jason who was working in the Pete's Coffee inside Bel Air. I came in on July 5th, to do some light shopping. At first I saw the "closed" sign on Pete's and was bummed I could not get my caffeine fix. I asked Jason who was behind the counter and he offered to make me my latte, despite having started the shut down system! He was kind, and got my latte out in no time. I placed an online order last weekend. My pick up was today April 13th. I ordered hamburger meat, Mac and cheese, cleaning wipes, and TP. Now, I understand about the limited items, but they had a whole week to prep for it. I came by to pick up my order and they told me I only have 2 items. Wipes and tp wasn't available. I did not get any alert on the app that my items weren't available. My suggestion for them is to check your orders beginning of the day and take items to put aside for online orders. Very bad service. Also, when we called the number to tell them we arrived, I asked the person if any of my items were removed. He replied yes, and I asked him which items were removed. I have shopped at this location for 30 years, with no problems until recently. There is a short, dark haired man with a beard, that is the most unfriendly and rude person, so I avoid his line when I come in. Today 3-8-20 at 4:00 I get in line with a taller bearded guy, who was super unfriendly, never said hello, nothing! Maybe the two bearded guys need to stock shelves, because they obviously don't like their jobs, and make it plainly obvious. The Meat and Sea Food Dept. The Bel Air Meat and Sea food dept. has become my go to place for a quality product. I have shopped there for many years and have always been very pleased with freshness of the sea foods and all the cuts of meat. Lately I started talking with the butchers behind the counter about different cuts of meat if I didn't see them in the case. This is where they earned a 5 star rating, the customer service and the willingness to find or cut something special for you, is done with a smile and they are just happy to help you. The organization of this store is spot on! They have what seems like almost every checkout stand open to help streamline your check out as fast as possible. Walking around you can hear the employees talk on their headsets to communicate customers' needs quickly and efficiently. They have a large selection of organic products that I can't find at other stores, and their selection of imported and specialty items are broad. I can find grape leaves, truffle oil, udon noodles with broth seasoning, fish cake, and kale chips here, when I even ask about some of these items at other stores they stare at me blankly. Their coffee stand inside is quick and tasty; you can grab bakery items, deli sandwiches and even Chinese food. Just a few short years ago, I would have given the Bel Air chinese food 4 or 5 stars, because it was such a great deal. Nowadays, it costs about $25 to feed our family of three.....it used to cost only $15. The "dinner box" that used to cost $4 is now $6......everything is way more expensive than it was before. Nevertheless, when they have Peking Pork "on sale" ($5.99 per pound), I'll stop in and buy a pound or two. Its da bomb......100% boneless BBQ pork in a very spicy sauce. Nowadays, I'd say the Bel Air is OK, but I'd rather drive to Roseville and eat at Hong Kong Buffet or Homai Fusion and for the same amount of money eat a lot better and get better variety...... read more

Very disgusted with how our cashier ( I believe her name was Sara C) reacted to my two year old daughter. My 2 year old daughter pinched her finger so bad it was bleeding terribly, so naturally my daughter was crying pretty bad. Our cashier gave the other customers behind us and the bag lady a look like I should stop her crying and didn't even care to ask if she was ok or if she needed anything such as a bandaid.
