I'm honestly at 3.5 rating but i'll bump it up to 4 stars since we can't do halves. Lol! I've honestly only had the chicken shawarma ($4.99) and falafel sandwich ($3.99); I will start being a little bit more adventurous. I love the fact you can see everything upfront in the deli case and tasting is also allowed. I definitely suggest calling in your order so you wouldn't have to wait because this place always seems to be jumping with people (which is a good thing). The only mistake i made was i stood in the cashier line before going to counter and placing my order - honestly it doesn't matter really but that just mean you'll have to wait so your ready can be started which only takes about 10 to 15 mins. Also you might invest in their "black card membership" for $1 - I think if you purchase 10 sandwiches then you get the 11th free. But I was born in Dearborn and am intimately familiar with this type of cuisine, so when I say that this casual establishment offers some of the most delicious and high quality food I've ever had, please take it seriously. This place is my very special Middle Eastern not-so-secret stop on the way home to get dinner and essential snack provisions. The service is always friendly and stellar and the food is fantastic. They have the BEST baba ghanouj outside of Dearborn, hands down. Maybe even the best baba in Detroit, period. It's so smoky and flavorful. Pair that with their homemade pita chips for a marvelous belly filler! On Fridays they serve raw kibbeh, but it sells out fast. Can't make it there by lunchtime? I regularly go to order a small fatoosh salad with grilled chicken, and it's always so satisfying. The salad is always cool, fresh, and crisp, and the chicken is deliciously cooked. The dressing is tart and with a healthy amount of sumac which I always look for. On the items you can order from the counter you can find hummus, tabouli, meat pies, and a couple dozen other items that are all freshly made and delightful. In terms of the items you can buy from the racks by the window there are spices of many kinds, roasted seeds, and canned goods. You can also get their homemade dressings, cheese, and other refrigerated goods from their self-serve fridge at the back of the store. The service is beyond friendly. I'm always greeted with a smile, and even when there are several orders ahead of me I never have to wait long for my order to get taken, and for my food to come out. I ordered enough food for 16 hungry women and I was beyond pleased. I ordered chicken schwarma, rice, hummus, fattoush, pita, and baklava. The prices were beyond reasonable and I even got a free t-shirt! Every single women enjoyed the food so much, even the "picky" eaters. The fattoush turned out to be my favorite as it was so fresh. On Yelp where there is enough smoke there is generally fire. Red hot five stars that are consistent like this rarely are clunkers. This indeed was a delight. Nothing to look at from outside but venture in my friends, go on. So much to offer: spinach pies, feta pies, meat pies, sphehas, zaatar, cheese bread, I grabbed some of each I confess. Lost myself in the salads and settled on tabouli and ahhhh chick pea. Wait some green bean and tomato, yep added that. I also grabbed some of the chicken and rice salad. Then onto some smokylicious baba, terrific hummus, happy garlic dip and pita, Mmmm the pita. Kibbe balls? Yes please. I also indulged in some baklava, I admit that too.
