Did not have dim sum here but had dinner with family. My cousin ordered and everything was very tasty. No complaints at all about any of the food. I felt the service was good as well. They were very attentive read more

Having been to Beijing Beijing many times for both dim sum and dinner, I can honestly say that it's just one of those places where you can count on the consistency. Every dish is always how you remember it to be so if you have specific cravings here, you know you will never go disappointed. Aside from the regular dim sum menu, the one dish that we never go without here is the "pea tip in pork bone broth with enoki mushrooms and dried scallop". You can say it's a specialty dish (compared to other dim sum places in town). Overall, GREAT value especially if you have a group going - either for lunch or dinner. read more

I love Peking Duck, and Beijing Beijing gives what I want. It's inexpensive to eat at this restaurant and the decor is extremely modern. I ate there once for dinner and once for lunch. Lunch: Dimsum was delicious, and wasn't disappointing. I'm not used to rectangle tables for dimsum though...usually I prefer round tables but that's just my taste. Dinner: I think I enjoy dinner more than lunch at this restaurant, I really enjoy the dishes and the quantity of it. Since Peking Duck is only little slices of the duck, we were able to use the rest of the duck for other dishes. I like that a lot because it doesn't seem as if we're wasting one whole duck to eat one part of it and throw it away. I heard they changed to a new management from the old Chinese buffet that stood there, and I believe it was a good change. I will definitely go there again when I visit Edmonton. read more

The Chinese name roughly translates to "All friends are welcome", and I'm not sure why the English name is "Beijing Bejing" because the food is Cantonese (i.e. from a couple of thousand km from beijing). I find most Edmonton Cantonese restaurants go too heavy on the oil, and for me that is the problem here. I don't usually get spring rolls but I made the mistake of ordering them here and they seemed to be soaked in a heavy oil, not light and crispy like in some restaurants. No other real complaints, and perhaps it is just really not my type of food. Caters to quite a few large parties (reunions, weddings, etc.) so may seem empty sometimes if one of these isn't in. read more

I love having dim sum here, and it's probably the only place where our family loves to come for dim sum in Edmonton. In the mornings/afternoon, it is packed with people and it's busy everyday. Our family doesn't live near the restaurant at all, but it's definitely worth the drive to try their dim sum out. The service is also excellent. Mornings are super busy, but when it's near dinner time, the place is really quiet. We also come to Beijing Beijing to eat their peking duck, the duck was delicious, the wrap was smooth and wasn't dry. The duck skin had a perfect crunch. Their dinner menu is okay, just your typical Chinese food, so I wasn't completely whoa-ed by it. read more

I love Dim Sum. Any day started with Dim Sum is made infinitely better by the presence of yummy food carted around to your table. That being said, I was conflicted over how to rate Beijing Beijing. On one hand, they are cheap. On the other hand, the service is terrible. They are always quick to seat you at Beijing Beijing, which is nice when your stomach is growling in the morning. However, what isn't so nice is that the food takes FOREVER to get to your table and once you're seated you are mostly ignored by the serving staff. Usually what you want in a dim sum restaurant is a continuous flow of food being carted by your table. At Beijing Beijing, the flow is sporadic at best, with carts only coming around every 5 or more minutes. And these carts aren't loaded, either. A couple of times I've come here and been seated at the end of the "route" that the carts take and by the time the cart gets to my table, there's nothing left. That in and of itself is enough for me to drop the stars down to a 3 instead of a 4 or 5. The food, once you finally get it on your table, is very good. They've got a large assortment of different items you can get. Not all of the items that they have on their dim sum menus actually come out on the carts, so if you want any of these you have to ask a server to bring you a sheet so you can mark off the items that you'd like and get them cooked just for you. I'd definitely recommend coming here for the dim sum, but do keep in mind that the food is going to take quite a while to get to your table and the assortment on each cart isn't going to be the best. read more

Came here for Dim Sum on a Friday morning. The good: Pan-fried turnip cake, egg tarts, steamed bbq pork buns and pork spareribs were good. The bad: Lo Mei Fan wasn't very good and luck warm at best. Also luke warm were the rice wrapper rolls (we had an order of the bbq, beef, and chinese donut). The chinese donut inside the rice wrapper roll was also way too hard. Another unfortunate thing is that we arrived when they opened (10:30am) and by the time we were wrapping up (around an hour later), that's when more variety of dishes were finally coming out. So don't get there too early or you miss out on other classic dim sum dishes. read more

Probably one of the better places for dim sum and Chinese dinner in the South. It is my family's go to place for dim sum and dinner. Service is great because we are regulars. We order the dinner in advance and are able to request specialty dishes. Everything is always fresh and tasty. I also had my own wedding dinner here. read more

We were told by the hotel that this is a great place for Chinese food. So I made a reservation for 6 o'clock we got there the place was empty not sure if that was a good sign or not. We ordered chicken fried rice, Chinese broccoli with garlic and beef and black bean sauce. The food was "ok". The place started to fill up while we were there and the amazing food we saw brought to other tables looked really good. I will return for sure and try some of the house specialties. read more

Pretty typical dim sum restaurant .I went in around noon on a weekday and i'm glad i got there early because the place was almost full and a few minutes later was totally packed. I think i was the only person in there under 80 yrs old as well. Had an order of deep fried shrimp dumplings and they were really good so i had another. Off the lunch menu i ordered some beef brisket/tendon rice noodle soup. They have maybe 20 items on a little lunch menu for $10 and the dimsums were $5 each. Dumplings had quite a bit of shrimp mixture in them and were nice and crunchy with mayo on the side. The soup broth was fairly tasteless so i added chile sauce but there was quite a bit of bright green cabbage leaf and tender brisket . All in all good. Tea was good. The waiter was fairly curt with me but efficient. Worth going back later. read more

Been going to this location for a while now for Dim Sum and have ordered late night chinese delivery. They have a good selection of Dim Sum items and their dinner chinese menu is quite diverse. If you don't mind the wait sometimes on the busy weekend, they are a great place to eat. read more

If you like Cantonese family style dishes, this is for you. We had a banquet style dinner during a recent visit to Edmonton. It is decent- but the service was very slow when we ate there. Good for Edmonton but would have a hard time in Vancouver or SF. read more

I came here on Saturday morning with a group of 10. Probably due to Victoria's day long weekend, this place was packed. We waited for about an hour for a small table by the door, so basically people were standing behind me and watched me eating. The table was not supposed to sit 10, but i guess they were too busy ... Anyways, the food wasn't great, We ordered two big congee and waited for 30 minutes before we asked one of the waiters. He said it would be coming soon. After 20 minutes passed and nothing. We asked a busboy and he said he would check, then he found out the waiter didn't write down our order. Then a guy came over (i guess the manager? ), he was mad at the busboy because he told us the truth...Again, the food wasn't great, if you have another choice, go to another place. read more

This is my favourite dim sum restaurant in Edmonton. The best dim sum are beef triplet, curry squib, xian shui jiao, egg tart, custard bun, shrimp dumpling. I was at this restaurant 2 years ago and revisited on this trip to Edmonton. It was wonderful to see they are able to maintain the good quality of the foods... however, I would like to see better and more friendly service attitude from the staffs at future visits. read more

Food us great but staff acts put out if you ask for water or red vinegar. Asked waitress for a pitcher of water today and the waitress had the nerve to roll her eyes. I've been going there weekly for years. So are you kidding me? Great food, never fails to be fresh and tasty. They just need to have staff that knows about customer service. Being pleasant goes a long way. read more

Very nice Cantonese restaurant with good seafood selection. Will come back for dim sum!

Servers don't understand English. Service was super slow and dimsum food took a long time to arrive. Will never come back

For dim sum in the old school way with staff pushing carts through the restaurant, Beijing Beijing is the go to for South of Edmonton. You can see all the dishes coming and going, and the hustle of the weekend here. Trouble is that this restaurant tends to be quite busy during the rush. Also everyone seems to have the same favourites. Some carts just finish before they even make it to your table. Luckily you can make individual orders, just be patient and get that waiter. Dinner service is also steady and consistent at this restaurant. At times you may find yourself there while someone has booked off a section of the restaurant for an event. But I find that this doesn't impact the quality of the service when I am there. read more

I thought it would be fun to try a new dim sum restaurant. I'd heard that BB was very good so I thought I'd give it a try; boy was I wrong!! Upon entry, I asked the host about the sign at the door saying, "No Buffet". I inquired if they had cart service for dim sum. He very abruptly responded, "Yes, we have cart service, but no buffet". He then proceeded to belt out and spell out the word "B U F F E T" to me!! I can assure you that my spoken word is a clear as my writing skills are here. He response was inexcusibly demeaning. The cart service was slow, at best. What food items we did manage to pick were hot and tasted "okay". We ordered more items off the menu along with some soya sauce but all failed to arrived after a half hour wait. The final straw was when the door host screamed (in Chinese) at a cart server to get out of his way as he was passing by with tea pots. You didn't need a translator to figure out his wrath or to feel the shame of the poor cart server. P.S. The washrooms were absolutely filty!! I, for one, will "N E V E R" be back here. I will, instead, go up the street to the Golden Rice Bowl where I know they have superior food, very friendly staff and, moreover, I know I'll be treated with respect... as a paying customer should be. read more

My family loves going out for Dim Sum... It's a great sunday morning breakfast. Lately we have been going to Beijing Beijing because it is less expensive than other dim sum restaurants in the same part of town. We have started to notice a trend though... the foods comes around very slowly. I like to get a variety of items at dim sum, but at Beijing Beijing the spring rolls and friend rice will pass you 4-6 times before you see any different items. We learned to order off the menu by flagging down one of the waiters. the frustrating thing then if that we finally figured out how to order off the menu, we ordered 4 items to tide us over until the next round of carts come by and then can you guess what was on the next round of carts? It was the 4 items we ordered! I swear they cook one thing at a time and won't cook anymore until its sold out. Don't get me wrong, the food is great, but in my experience dim sum is all about variety, and this place lacks it. the highlights are the deep fried squid and the price (cheapest dim sum I've had in Edmonton: $14 per person) read more

This is the best Chinese restaurant on the Southside. This place has stepped it up big time. I feel the need to mention that this was an average restaurant by my standard. The Christmas Chinese dinner there was fantastic! One dish was a total let down, but other than that everything was wonderful. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had! I was meeting friends for lunch today. One of the owners was extremely rude to me while I was waiting to be seated. First he completely ignored me for 8 minutes at the door! until there is large group showed up at he door, he went pass me try to help them first. I had to talk to him try to get his attention while my friends were waiting in the restaurant. After I showed him my Covid QR code and ID, he just waved his hand at me, it made me feel really bad. After sit down we tried several times to get his attention for napkins etc. he completely ignored us...saw us, but turned his head away. The whole experience basically ruined my mood all day. That's after we just ordered a couple hundreds take out Food from them a week ago. If people don't know how to show a little respect to their customers, they shouldn't even own a business! NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN! read more

I find it hard to review Beijing Beijing in a single review. We've been to the location probably 30+ times (honestly) for dim sum, and overall I'd give it a 3 stars. We've had 4-5 star dim sum there half of the time, and 2 star dim sum there a quarter of the time. It depends on the time you arrive (which quite honestly is true of any dim sum offering in Edmonton) and how busy they are. The busier they are, the better the food but the longer you may have to wait to grab the attention of a server not in your "cart path" - but the quieter it is, the faster you get served, but the offerings have been sitting for a while. Total toss-up. Delivery is unfortunately the same. We've had great - we've had bad. We keep ordering from them because we like the people who own it and we've had so many good experiences there that the odd misstep doesn't seem to phase us too much, but to be honest, if we found another Chinese delivery place in our 'hood who offered up CONSISTENT great quality delivery in the same time that Beijing Beijing does (ALWAYS quickly) - we may be willing to switch. We'd still go for dim sum though. Great place. Most of the time. If they upped their consistency game, they'd be the most formidable place on the south side. read more

This was my first ever dim sum experience and I did not enjoy it. We arrived at opening to secure a table for 10 people, you would think being there at opening for a brunch that was happening two hours later would have been sufficient but it was not. We were set up at 3 different tables. I had no idea what I was eating, there was no English name for anything and a huge language barrier between myself and wait staff. There were long waits between carts coming with food, and much of the food was not hot. Two thumbs down. read more

This is one of the best places for Dim Sum that I have found and I have enjoyed Dim Sum for over 35 years all over Canada. We would usually go on a Sunday and you had better get there before noon or you are waiting in line. The food carts come around fast and with lots of choices so there are tastes for everybody. Fresh made and hot Dim Sum is the standard here so no reason to walk out hungry. I highly recommend Being Bejing. read more

I come here for Dim Sum regularly. Great food and, according to Chinese friends, very authentic for this region. The place is very busy Sunday mornings, but if you come a bit before 11 you'll probably beat the worst rush. Recommended! read more

Here in Edmonton, if you are looking for consistent and traditional Chinese food, i.e. dim sum for lunch and dishes that can compliment a couple bowls of steamed-rice, this is the place. What to order? Here is the trick. You need to order the "normal" dishes on the menu on an ordinary day (don't impress your friends in ordering abalone and lobster tail fruit salad without pre-ordering). Can they handle luxury items? Of course they can and they are experts in handling abalone, shark fin, ling cod, special dishes and etc. You just need to give them enough notice so that they can do a good job. read more

My review may not matter too much, but this definitely needs to be said. We were celebrating a family elder's birthday with a ten course meal (4 tables), which we started at around 8pm. We enjoyed ourselves, and the meal was your typical "good" chinese meal. The part that really downplays the rating of this review was the experience near the end of our dinner. With four plates left and the time nearing 10pm, our appetites were mostly filled and we proceeded to enjoy our conversation while the rest of us finished off what we could. Then, we proceeded to sing Happy Birthday to the family elder around one table only, our backs turned. In the few minutes that it took us to celebrate and cut the cake, all our bowls, plates and utensils were cleaned up. Fine, understandable given that we were eating cake, but still a little rude considering we were not asked. Our food was taken as well, 2 full plates of noodles, rice, vegetables and chicken. They probably went to go pack it up for us so we could enjoy later. Probably was nowhere close. When our servers came back, we asked them where our food was. They had proceeded to throw it away; ALL of it. Four full plates of cooked food, into the trash. Without our consent. The lady we asked even had the audacity to tell us that one of us at our table told her to throw it away. Sure, I might have looked into it, but considering that we had to PAY for a ten course meal, and have almost half of it just thrown away is not something any person in their right mind would say. So be wary of eating in the evening at this Beijing Beijing, you just might have the food you ordered and paid for thrown out without your knowledge. read more

Sadly, I found this Dim Sum has gone really downhill. After an hour wait on Sunday, we were treated to very little variety of food, some of which was just dried up and cold. There were no servers, and when we asked food people to send one over we were told to just wait. Really not worth the time we wasted. Sad since it was a birthday get together, and the birthday boy was the most disappointed. read more

Stopped by for some dim sum with the family whilst on the way to Southgate. It was my first time having dim sum in Edmonton so I didn't really know what to expect. Being from the California - I'm used to have both authentic as well as newer dim sum dishes. Beijing Beijing definitely gave me a more of an authentic vibe. They have your typical dishes like shu mai, har gow, chicken feet, etc. Service is a bit on the slow side. We were seated towards the end of the restaurant so by the time the cart ladies got to us a lot of the food we wanted were no longer available. Tried ordering from one of the servers but she kept telling us that it was "coming" on the carts so we just had to wait. Didn't even get my har gow "order" until we actually paid and was about to leave. We felt bad that the lady brought it over for us so we added it on the tab and paid for it separately... not something I've experienced before. Besides that the food was great. the molten egg yolk bun is a must try if you're looking for some after dim sum sweets. read more

One of the best restaurants in the city for dim-sum. I go there occasionally with my family. It's a bit far from where I live, but the food, overall, is worth it. You can taste the difference in the food compared to other restaurants that have dim-sum---flavourful, with what the Chinese refer to as "wok hei", literally "steam from the wok". And as far as price goes, compared to others like Cha For Tea in west Edmonton, the menu is quite affordable. Cha For Tea has good food too, but it's rather expensive there. And the portions they give are on the skimpy side. Beijing Beijing has great food and is relatively inexpensive, and they give a lot more on the plate. The service at Beijing Beijing is for the most part good; there is a waiter by the name of Yeung (his last name) who is excellent, well-mannered and courteous. Always smiling. I'm always able to talk and share niceties with him despite how busy it can get. He told me he's from the same province in China where my parents are from (Guangzhou), but from the neighbouring district of Kaiping. Hehe. Overall, a great restaurant. read more
