Very cute hidden bar inside this bar. If you go beyond the second door it opens to this cute room with seats and a bar. I got an espresso martini that was delicious.

Cool retro neon vibe

We stopped in here midday on a holiday weekend and we're surprised to find it completely empty, but it made for an even more unique experience as we got to talk one on one with the bartender here his favorite drinks and recommendations and I enjoyed my cocktail very much. My boyfriend actually stole mine the first round and realize that he liked it more than what he had ordered so we swapped and then we both ordered the same drink as my original on our next round unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the drink, but I feel certain that if you ask for the drink that catches on fire, they will know what you want! Important detail to share if you are stopping in on a weekday, the hidden room is not open

Mad Robot & Espresso Rapido

Stopped in for casual cocktails, I had the Mad Robot and my friend had the Espresso Rapido. The cocktails were amazing! Reviewing their cocktails they seem to have a very complex and diverse selection and the descriptors of the flavour profiles was very helpful. The ambiance at around 8:30 in the evening on a Friday was very relaxed and allowed for easy conversation. 10/10 experience and would definitely come back.

My initial impression was that this should be the coolest bar in Houston. They had multiple floors, bisexual purple mood lighting, a DJ and large dance floor upstairs too. But after a while I felt like I was at an awkward school dance, with people mostly standing off to the side instead of dancing. Our group pulled up on a Friday night, ready to see what Houston nightlife was all about. The purple neon lights hit me and I thought surely all the cool kids were out here. We got our drinks and headed upstairs, following the siren call of bass, expecting to find a packed dance floor. Instead we find space. So much space you could maybe do a cart wheel in there if you were so inclined. The few people that were there clung to the walls like their lives depended on it. The DJ was trying their best, but the crowd wasn't lit enough. I'm not saying this place was awful. The drinks were good, the vibe was cool in theory and at least there was room to dance without elbowing someone in the face. But for a Friday night it wasn't lively at all. So final verdict on BCD and by extension my glimpse into Houston nightlife was that it's about as lit as my grandma's mahjong games.

Loved Behind Closed Doors! This was a fun spot on a Friday night downtown. Obviously, a great vibe and instagram worthy esthetic. The "hidden bar-Speakeasy" The Gold room, was nice and a more intimate place to relax with a drink. High end liquors, nice bar tenders but the drink was about an 8/10. It was good but nothing special or that stood out about them. $38 for an Old Fashioned and a Sidecar, tip is automatically applied and that's fine. I appreciate them pointing that out. Main bar with all the fun lights and retro feel is a lot of fun as well and also has some smaller food options which was needed at this point. We got the dip which was supposed to have caviar but definitely didn't but was still good. We also got the Wagyu hot dog which was actually really good! The star of the night for me was the drink my wife and I both ordered "Burn After Reading" it was sweet, sour, smoky and spicy. A really incredible drink! Again, tip is included and drinks are less expensive at the front bar. If you leave the tab open it follows you throughout the venue- a nice touch. All in all, it was a lot of fun and a great start to our night. Would definitely come back especially when entertaining friends from out of town.

For a night out on Main St, Behind Closed Doors is the place to be. It's packed with pumping energy, good music (all eras of rap & r&b), neon lights, and plenty of hidden spots that are easy to miss. Upon entering, you'll find the DJ to the right of you, and a walkway with seats/tables on both sides. There is a second DJ upstairs and a speakeasy for those needing a space to chill out. Drinks are a bit pricey and 20% auto-gratuity is added to all bills. Vibes are top tier.

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. Food was delicious but veeeery indulgent. We will be back.

We were greeted by three different people - one that took our drink order, one that cleared our plates, and one that took our order. All were very nice people and gave excellent service! I forgot their names unfortunately. My receipt said Zachary but not sure which waiter that was. Between me and hubs, we had a Pan de campo, an order of Gulf Oysters "casino", (4) dressed oysters, a 16 oz dry aged ribeye, a snapper entree and a side of crab fried rice. We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail. Hubs had their "classic" old fashioned which he said was excellent! Overall, highly recommended if you don't mind the splurge or for a special occasion!

I ate at Norigami Tuesday night and it was great as were the cocktails served up at the nextdoor bar called Hidden Bar. On Tuesday, I tried the Thai Chili Ginger Margarita ($13) and it was great, complete with a hunk of candied ginger which I "gingerly" consumed throughout my drink experience...see what I did there? Next, I had the Three Dots and a Daiquiri ($13) with Rum, Lime, Velvet Falernum, All Spice and Pineapple and it was very similar to one of my favorite tiki drinks, the Three Dots and a Dash, complete with 3 luxardo cherries. To finish, I had the absolutely incredible Golden Laurel ($16) with Gin, Italicus Bergamot, House Greek Botanical Bitters and Sea Salt. It is equally beautiful served with a clear bay leaf and delicious. Last night, I was guided by the friendly bartender to try the Et Tu Banana" ($15) with Banana Bourbon, Spiced Pear, Creme de Banane, Campari and Citric Acid. I was a little worried about the cocktail being overly banana-y but it wasn't at all. It was a fantastic drink. For my last call, he recommended the Left Hand ($13) with Bourbon, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Chocolate Bitters. Again, fantastic. Both nights, the bartenders and drinks were fantastic. Ambiance is nice with moody lighting. They even have a bidet toilet seat in the bathroom! Hidden Bar is a "hidden" gem, for sure. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We were lucky enough to find seats, but it was so crowded we could barely talk without yelling, and we were basically shoulder-to-shoulder with the people around us Other than that, it's a really nice spot to grab drinks, hang out with friends, and get some cute content. Would I go again? Yes... just maybe not on a Friday night
