After reading that this café uses house-made strawberry jam in their matcha, I had to try it. To no surprise, it was delicious and fresh! I also ordered the egg sandwich and breakfast cookie, which was the perfect amount of food (especially if you share the cookie). I sometimes feel like breakfast sandwiches can be heavy and rather greasy, but this one was quite light! The maple sauce added a nice touch of sweetness too. I believe their breakfast cookie is a best seller and I can see why. Chocolate chips and dried cherries?? Scrumptious and soft! I like the small and minimalist feel of their interior. It feels more hometown instead of a chain. Even with only a few people working, they kept the orders coming at a great speed. I was happy to get my food within minutes. The place is small, clean and cozy. The service is fast and friendly. The cafe is in the busy uptown Westerville but there are plenty of street parking spots all around. I was disappointed to learn they do not offer any sugar free syrups (they have sweeteners) but the tiramisu waffle and unsweetened matcha made up for it! I wish the matcha had a deeper, bolder flavor, but I love that it comes unsweetened. And oh man, the tiramisu waffle...I bought it to go but I had a bite in the car. I almost drove into the curve because I could stop eating it! The syrup that came with it had a nice coffee flavor. I would love to go back and try other things but I may order the waffle again! read more

What a cute little cafe, it's so bright and fun. There's free parking around the plaza and in the lots. This cafe's entrance is along the side of building, so you might pass it if you cross the street. There's a decent amount of seating inside the cafe ranging from 2 seat tables to a larger table. There was no wifi from this cafe when I went. They have some merch available for purchase in the back, desserts and pastries, and various drinks. I got a seasonal latte and a pistachio loaf. The latte I got was supposed to taste like a roasted marshmallow and it comes with a roasted marshmallow. The coffee was okay, it wasn't super flavorful and I had to add a bit of extra sugar and they do have a condiment table available. The pistachio loaf was delicious, soft, not too sweet, and flavorful. The staff was nice and the cafe is cute! There's some shopping and other activities around the area that you can do. The aesthetics of this cafe are top notch. Ever since they opened I knew I needed to make the trip. I was finally able to make it in on a bustling Saturday. Busy was an understatement. They have a decent amount of seating options, but it still felt very crowded. We ordered our drinks to go, so we didn't want to hog a seat. There wasn't much room for us to stand and wait for our drinks, though. My husband got the limited "The Honeycomb" latte and I got "The Canadian". His drink had notes of toffee, wildflower honey, and Dalgona candy. Mine has notes of maple, butter, and cinnamon. My latte was absolutely delicious - it tasted like cereal milk. My husband said he couldn't taste much of the espresso in his drink, but he did like the sweetness and overall flavor. I also really loved his drink as well. My only complaint is that my cold foam completely disappeared by the time I got to my car and I didn't even take a sip of it yet! read more

WE LOVE BEGIN! LOCATION- It's downtown Westerville which is the cutest little strip. When we were visiting we happened to have an air bNb within walking distance to Begin, and thank the good Lord. It was so fun to walk down each morning and start our day here. Thankfully we were only in town Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings (they are only open WED-SAT). VIBE & DECOR- Top notch, it's so cute in there and you can tell that all the details matter. It's beautiful and super cozy. and of course smells divine. STAFF- Everyone is having a blast, and look genuinely happy to be there and happy to serve you! It's a bright spot in your morning for sure! COFFEE- Excellent says my coffee roasting coffee snob husband! ESPRESSO drinks- YESSSSS! Makes mouth happy! I tried just a regular vanilla latte two mornings, and tried Kayla's special drink one morning which had cinnamon in it, loved. All so good! It's delicious. Service is decent. Space is limited. High quality coffee. I reccomend giving this place a try!!! When I went it was a bit crowded. But it's new. And that's good for business so I got over that aspect. Hours limited so check before you go. My biggest hope is they stay open. This is the 3rd coffee shop in this small area and Java is the GOAT. We came here opening weekend. The retro vibes are so cute. And the customer service was great. We ordered a cold brew, strawberry matcha, and a breakfast cookie. The cold brew is strong as a cold brew should be. The strawberry matcha utilizes fresh strawberry purée and is great if you like a lighter matched flavor. The breakfast cookie is essentially just an oat cookie. Overall this is a cute place with many tables to sit - great for catching up with a friend.
