Pepperoni pizza medium
Felicia D.

I've been coming to this location on and off for years. Today was my first time back after a long while of trying other pizzerias nearby. The pizza satisfied my craving, but it didn't knock my socks off. There wasn't enough pepperoni on it. Most squares only have one slice of pepperoni which is just not enough. Also the sauce needed something, it seemed to be a little bland. Also it seemed like the pizza was more cheesy in the past. It was just ok for me today.

Crust could have been more dark skin but it's good, pizza didn't take take long I here on a Sunday doing lunch.

Okay! This is a frustrating post because I feel like Beggars Pizza, specifically the one on Western in Blue Island, is so hit or miss. This is not the first time, but they give you the option of how you want your pizza cut and they do the opposite. Today's pizza is the worst one I've had yet. They had to take it back because it was cut in triangles instead of squares. When I tried it, the crust is just above raw, the sauce tastes very bitter, and the jardiniera, which is usually pretty finely chopped, was in huge chunks today. The redeeming part of the experience is that the girls who works at front counter are always super nice. I feel bad for them because they get to hear everybody's dissatisfaction when it has nothing to do with them. The pizza place is always crowded and it's a lively place to step into on a Friday night. I feel good about my son and his friends hanging out here after school or on the weekend and I love that they always have an officer either inside or close by.

The original location. I picked up a pizza here (eaten here many times). In and out, quick and easy. Pizza is tremendous I've also had lunch here with spaghetti and Italian sausage.. delicious..

My brother discovered Frank's Pizza after one of his coworkers recommended it. Ever since then,…read morehe's become a regular customer because of the good vibes, cheap eats, and drinks. He kept saying that he wanted me to try the pizza because he thought I'd like it. He said it reminded him of Fox's Pizza in Beverly, which is what we grew up on. Honestly, Frank's is somewhere I would've never gone without my brother's prompting. I don't frequent the area and rarely go to dive bars, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bar was quiet, clean, and comfortable. It's no frills for sure, but it's a bare-bones environment in the best way. My brother and a friend of ours were already there when I arrived. They'd already started a tab so, I just went to the bar and ordered. It was early (noon) so I didn't order alcohol. I only ordered Pepsi, but my brother and friend ordered drinks. They liked them and said they only cost $3.50. We ordered a large pepperoni and sausage pizza which arrived fairly quickly. it was piping hot too!! It was so hot that the cheese would just slide off the cracker-thin crust. The pizza was excellent though. My sister thought the cheese was too thick, but, I liked it. I thought it was fantastic. The meats were high quality and the sauce was tasty. Our friend liked it as well. The four of us ate the entire pizza. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, so the bar wasn't packed. There were a handful of regulars at the bar and a couple of people playing the slot machines. There was a baseball game playing on the TV, so it was fairly quiet. During peak hours I'd imagine that it gets pretty packed. The bartender and our server were cool, so I have no complaints about the service. I wouldn't say that Frank's pizza tastes like Fox's in Beverly, but I do understand why my bro made that comparison. They're both good for different reasons. I'd probably visit Frank's again in the future if given the choice.

I went through all…read moreof the trouble of browsing their menu and placing an order only for them to cancel it because I'm out of their delivery area...I'm less than 6 miles away and the order was through Uber eats. It doesn't say anything about the restaurant delivering orders themselves so I doubt they are. Pizzas are overpriced anyway. You can tell they price their menu based on what's the easiest to make. Things like corn dogs are super cheap while things that require actual cooking skills and prep are much more expensive than they should be. Toppings are expensive as well and they don't change the pricing based on whether it's whole or half...it's all the same price. Update: Owner says "driving outside of our area for a delivery would compromise the food for you." Compromise what? The temperature? It's a delivery so that's a given and you aren't serving $400 foie gras. That also depends on how well you pack the food when delivering so you're kind of admitting that delivery isn't your forte. You also have the ability to set your delivery limits within the app if you are using your own staff to deliver so people don't waste their time ordering food only for you to cancel it.

We walked in during the bustling dinner rush and found the restaurant packed. The host greeted us warmly, and we found our way to the bar. The female bartender was there that my brother knows, so we sat down. I don't recall her name, but she was friendly and attentive. We both ordered blackened chicken caesar salads. The salads were pretty good. I honestly wasn't that crazy about the caesar dressing but it was edible. The salad and chicken were fresh though. Also, I didn't get sick, which is a plus considering the lettuce recalls lately. The portion size is generous as well. My brother had a beer flight too, which he always enjoys. The restaurant was crowded, but the bar area felt intimate. There were a lot of regulars around us, so people were familiar with each other. Everyone was friendly, which was cool. The environment was relaxed and comfortable. I'd definitely visit sometime in the future if the opportunity presented itself.

We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. I didn't get her name, but she was personable and affable. My brother was familiar with her since he visits semi-regularly. My brother loves both the burgers and pizza. He claimed the pizza rivals Fox's pizza in Beverly, so naturally I had to check it out. The pizza is good, but it's no Fox's!! We ordered double pepperoni, which was perfectly thin and crispy. It was a little too greasy for me, but other than that, I have no complaints. I also had an amaretto stone sour, which was delicious. My brother had a drink as well, but I can't recall which one. He always orders it, though, so clearly the bartender prepares it to his liking. The bar has a welcoming neighborhood vibe. The bartender knew some people by name or face, but everyone was welcomed with open arms. The bill for was about $45, which is pretty standard nowadays. The pizza was very reasonable ($18), which was awesome. There are slot machines in the corner for all the eager gamblers. Next time I'll try the burgers!

There can be a 45-minute wait for the pizza, so we also ordered the Polenta appetizer, which was a little mushy but still tasted good. Although I am not a big fan of pan style, I think this pizza was very good in that category. I like that the crust tasted like pizza dough, rather than cornmeal like some other places. The sauce is not that sweet and has small chunks of tomato, but not too many. The cheese had a good flavor and consistency. The sausage also tasted good. We felt very welcomed by the server, and I appreciate that he put our order in immediately so we didn't have to wait very long for the pizza to get done. Louisa's is quite nice, the decor is just right for an Italian restaurant, the music playlist is perfect, and the lighting is dark but I could still read the menu okay. There is a photo collage on one wall which includes Louisa in several photos. The bar area is well lit but still cozy. There is ample parking along the North side of the building and behind it. The private room was comfortable; it didn't feel overly crowded or anything, even though there were at least eight tables for dining and then a few others for food and gifts and whatnot. The one thing that was a little weird was that there were a couple bathrooms in the front of the room, which seemed like an odd and somewhat conspicuous place to put them. There was a bathroom out in the main restaurant, too, and also a family bathroom which I appreciated. That's where the changing table is located.
