From the first moment, the experience was great -- the staff carefully listened to exactly what I wanted and needed (2 different phone calls) and communicated with Michelle, the owner. She got back to me with questions and clarifications, which was great. She personally delivered the many arrangements to the church on Saturday -- and , though I knew she was very busy that day, she then stayed on to help me with staging the whole front of the church, making sure all was in place before she left. I regret selecting a plant to send to my sister. The bouquets look so beautiful and it seems to be their specialty. If you order from these ladies stick with their flowers and not plants. Great experience. Called after order had been placed online for that day and the new owner Michelle couldn't have been nicer. Found out after order that mother-in-law's favorite color was pink and was able to change the order last minute. Not just that but, because MIL lives in assisted living, Michelle questioned whether she'd be allowed to use candles which sister in law confirmed, while Michelle was on hold for a few minutes, and changed added gift to something else. Stopped by for some flowers for my wife. I explained what I was looking for, I was asked how much I wanted to spend. A few minutes later I had a beautiful bouquet of flowers made to order and right to the requested price. It was super simple and very easy. Thanks to Ray for the heads up about this place and the cool 'what price point do you want' style. I dig it. The inside has a few knick knacks to check out while you wait but nothing to keep your attention for long. Think porcelain figures, lapel buttons, coasters, etc. Super friendly service. Today not so much...they called me the DAY OF delivery and told me "sorry we're all sold out from the weekend and our driver won't be here until late this afternoon anyways...". More than that, I would be wary of ordering flowers considering how things run behind the scenes. Many times arrangements have been overlooked or overcharged because of negligence. I went inside their store to get a quote for my wedding. They seemed disorganized but promising at first. The owner said she would give me a quote within the week. The week goes by, and I call. She says it's going to take another week. I wait another week, and call to ask again. She says she can't give me a quote until I send her photos of what I want despite us having talked about it when I came in. I did just so, and waited a few days this time. I call and am told I'll be called right back in half an hour. DAYS go by. I call again, annoyed but polite and ask to please be given my quote now, and somehow the same thing happens. "We'll get back to you in thirty minutes"... I gave up at that point. It's clear they aren't calling anytime soon as that was yet another three weeks ago. I guess they really don't want my business, so I'll tell my story and go on looking at flower shops that actually DO want my money and won't waste my time with empty promises. read more

I inquired about their services through wedding wire and I was so hopeful that I had found my florist, one of the last few details I needed to get taken care of. Alyssa set up a phone consult with me, I ended up calling the shop at the time and day she asked me to, no one answered the phone. She returned my call shortly after and apologized, saying an employee had to leave early because they were sick and we set up a call for a bit later that day. She called me on time, we talked for about 40 minutes and she really helped me come up with some good ideas and helped me figure out what I wanted and what I was willing to spend. She told me she would get back to me with a quote and all the details we discussed, the next day, she even gave me her phone number and told me to text her anytime. I text her that night, with my pinterest board information, which she had asked me to do, no reply. I text her a couple of days later asking some more questions and basically telling her I would be willing to go up a bit in my budget. STILL NO REPLY. Its now been several weeks and I still have yet to hear from her. I finally booked with a different florist, it's just really frustrating that she got my hopes and wasted my time( I REALLY LIKED HER AND WAS READY TO BOOK HER , AND SHE WAS THE FIRST FLORIST I HAD EVEN SPOKEN TO!). It was incredibly unprofessional to just leave a potential customer hanging like that. I hope they don't do this to any other brides, weddings are stressful enough to plan :( read more

I live in Southern CA and have used Arlyne's Flowers in the past because I have relatives in the Atascadero area, but recently had occasion to use their services again under the new mother/daughter ownership. To make a long story short, I placed a very specific order with a very delightful young lady one day for flowers to be delivered the next day to our favorite aunt on her 95th birthday. The next day, the order was executed by a different employee and when we saw the photo of the flowers, we were disappointed (I must add that our aunt was not disappointed). I wrote a very polite letter to the owners letting them know that the flowers were not to my specifications, but I did not ask for money back or anything, just wanted them to know. One of the owners called me and left a message which I did not have time to return that day; she called again the next day leaving another message that they wanted to make it right. When I finally talked to her, I let her know that I was not asking for anything, just conveying information. She said it was important for them to carry on the tradition of excellent service that Arlyne's had provided since the 1950's and she really REALY wanted to make it right. Result was another bouquet delivered to our aunt that was JUST BEAUTIFUL. I know that the floral business has very narrow margins and it is not easy to make this type of business profitable. I believe the new owners have the right stuff. They sincerely want to please the client. I highly recommend Arlyne's for all of your floral needs. read more
