I was driving by and noticed something I haven't seen before, a sign saying Beers - straightforward enough. I work in the area, so when I see something new, it's exciting.
Walking in, I'm drawn into a spacious environment good for both small and large groups. Before I was able to wonder around too much, a Korean lady quickly greeted me and offered me a tour.
To sum up what was shown, Beers can be thought of as a mix between a bar, restaurant, and karaoke. All the familiarities are there: soju, Korean food, private karaoke rooms. What makes Beers stand out then, or at least what was emphasized to me, is the cheap karaoke. Well, more like free. If you spend $100, your time in the karaoke rooms comes at no charge.
With the menu pricing similar enough to the rest of the Korean offerings throughout the metroplex, Beers then becomes an obvious choice for singing groups outings based on price alone.
What then of the food? Well, I wasn't too hungry and we stopped in on a whim and got some drinks and chicken gizzards for beer food. Hah. The gizzards were fine, but making gizzards is straightforward. The more complicated items remains to be seen.
Overall the staff though is very friendly and care about their place making sure we were taken care of. They were responsive to feedback as Beers adjusts to find its identity. I for one then am looking forward to see what becomes of this place.
Ah, and the hours are from 6 pm - 6 am so that's interesting. read more
