Friends and I went to Beef Villa to bide our time while the local Amusement park set up their halloween attractions. We were not disappointed at all. The Italian beef was wonderful, the fries were amazing, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their selections as well ( I did not have the Reuben but I wanted to after seeing it). Love this location for both the food and service! The guys behind the counter are always +++A in personality and taking orders. Anything I've tried here is always quick, consistent and delicious, they even have an excellent Friday fish specials! They give a very generous serving of whatever you order. The guys are always real cool here. I love Chicago Red Hots. I usually order them with mustard and celery salt. Then comma Walker on the counter and grab some of their fresh giardinera. The ham and swiss is pretty solid. The Italian beef isn't as good as Portillo's, which is how I compare all Beefs, but it's good. read more

Dogs are great. Italian beef however is not. The beef gravy is over peppered and lacks 'Italian' flavor, tastes more like peppery roast beef. The nerve is not being trimmed out of the roast before slicing. Many slices had chewy nerve chunks. Also it's sliced too thick for a proper Italian beef. I can remember coming here as a little girl when there was an older man working here. He always called me princess and new my family. Awe so sweet. Now all grown up I bring my kids here and we probably eat here at least once a month. I don't understand how anyone could have anything negative to say about this place. Some tasty hot dogs and fabulous cheese fries! Beef Is pretty darn good, too! Prices are, so-so. They charge for re-fills?!? I've been coming here for years. The food here is pretty good. Beef is acceptable except when you ask for hot peppers, they don't add giardinara like everyone else, they put sport peppers. Worst part for me was watching my order be prepared. After decades of enjoying Beef Villa, I will think 5 times before wver going back. There were 3 orders before mine. None which required more than one bag. I watched as 4 out of 5 people touched all the food as they made it, even though tongs were laying on the counter. Each order seemed to cause some sort of problem. The woman ahead of me ended up with both of my sandwiches. Then the person packing the bag yelled at another worker for packing the bag (It was not his fault.). I asked for gloves to be used and they said, "but I washed my hands." Um...please retake your food safety course. Obviously, you misunderstood the majority of it. When I returned home with the food, after they put extra items in my bag and then wouldn't let me make sure I was not charged for it, there was no hot peppers on one sandwich and the fries were not thoroughly cooked. I have no idea why this was so difficult for 5 people when in the past I've seen 3 people hand 10 orders brilliantly. I hope no one gets sick from your improper food handling. read more

I was not happy with my experience here. I drove all the way to this location because I downloaded a 5.00 coupon offer to present. When I presented it, the owner said I needed an app to validate. When I expressed my disappointment he said Im here to stay in business. When I researched it further I found out I didn't need to do anything but present the code which I had and was expiring the next day. . Really ? You don't talk to customers this way if u want to keep them. Beef's were very spicy and chicken sandwiches are thin , dry and overpriced . Why have a contract to provide discounts and not honor them? It's the principal. If I needed the actual app and I didn't have on me, why not honor something since the coupon was only a 24 hr coupon. I'm not gonna RIP u off. I went on Tuesday and got the dog and fries for 2.50. The service was super friendly. The dog was good, but the fries were kinda dry? Maybe overcooked? I'm not sure what was wrong with them exactly. Anyway I dig this place and I'll be back for sure. read more

Ordered a burger and we got a gyro and onion rings. Onion rings were great - not minced onions but nice real onion rings. My burger was luke warm and they put the condiments on the bottom bun (yucck), they also did that with the gyro - I like to see my "toppings" ON THE TOP where they belong. I think they do that for speed purposes, but hey, take an extra 30 seconds and put them in the right place. Staff seemed friendly. We ate there and it was FREEZING with barn like atmosphere with the air rolling in everytime someone opened the door to enter or leave. Only 3 tables of 4 and some window stools. Beef Villa has been my favorite burger restaurant for quite some time. There is a similar restaurant in Rockford with a similar name yet to compare their cheese fries to Beef Villa is like comparing a drunken karaoke singer to Elvis Pressley. This is the only place I will regularly but a Gyros as theirs is the best. Then there is the service. From day one, I have always been treated like a life long friend. Very disappointed - person taking the order (man bun) - very rude - called me "HUN" twice. Called the man in front of me "BRO". Was yelling at the girl that was making the beef sandwiches and she looked like she was ready to cry. Was upset because he thought she messed up an order - threw the french fries. This person should not be dealing with the public - gave a very bad impression of the establishment. As a business owner, this person would not be working for me. I've ordered from here a couple times and had an excellent experience each time. I've tried the combination beef and sausage, ham and cheese sandwich, cheeseburgers, cheese fries, and cream cheese jalapeno poppers. The food is good and comes out very quickly. The prices are reasonable, and if you find a Groupon to use, then it's a no brainer. Jeff, the dude who took our order, was very friendly and accurate with the order. He was very talkative with the other customers, who seemed to have been regulars, but he never ignored us and made sure we were well taken care of. The highlight of my experience was when a Jamie Kennedy lookalike cooked our ham and cheese sandwich and yelled out in an opera style singing voice, "hot ham and cheese with CHEDDDAAAAHHH!" I'm turning 38 years old and have been going to Beef Villa on Dundee St. since I was a kid (20+ yrs) and love going because of the quality food and friendly workers. Went in today on 5/5/17 and as my girlfriend and I are waiting to order, the cashier ask me "if it was my car parked in front?" I answer "yes" and he then proceeds to tell me I have to move my car because its not in a parking spot and that it was in the handicap. I was clearly not in the handicap, but instead of making an issue out of nothing I moved my car as my girlfriend waited in line. Once I returned inside, I asked her "if she ordered?" She said "no", and as others continued to walk in the cashier took their order and never took ours. We realized our business was not wanted and I left upset but without making a scene out of respect to the establishment and other customers wanting to enjoy their food on this Friday evening. I feel the cashier could of asked me not park there in the future and allow us to place our order. Sorry, but we will not be returning. read more
