I had an ongoing, complex transmission issue that involved two transmission failures within a…read moretwo-month time span. I was referred to Barrett by another local shop that spoke very highly of them, and I see why! From first contact, Mark was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. He guided me through the diagnostic and repair process with ease. I was floored by how quickly they were able to find and correct the underlying thermal bypass issue. They connected directly with the previous technician that worked on my car to gain repair insight, pool resources, and solve my transmission issue within just a couple days! I was impressed by their level of expertise, professionalism, and care to help me get back on the road quickly. Repair technician Brad broke down what happened for me in a way that I could understand and clarified next steps. Barrett Transmission was fantastic to work with. They offered direct communication, went above and beyond to quickly diagnose issues, and gave an accurate repair timeline. Barrett totally exceeded my expectations and provided excellent repair work. I highly recommend them for your transmission repair! Thanks for all of your help and insight, Mark and Brad!

I took my beloved 2017 Ram 3500 to Barrett based on reading their reviews. I noticed when I picked the truck up that the water and fuel light was on and I thought that was a strange coincidence. Over the years this light has come on two or three times after a car wash, and it's an easy fix to clean out the water in the sensor connection. I did that and even replaced the sensor in the rear fuel water separator. The light was still on, even though the fuel looked clean, so I ended up taking it to a shop in Oak Harbor before driving to the Tetons, as that light was bothering me. It turns out the technician at Barrett had inadvertently pinched some wires that ran along the crossmember below the transmission mount when he reattached the cross number. Thus the cause of the water and fuel light. Barrett was extremely honorable and covered the cost of those wire repairs, and the shops diagnostic fee. So the only thing I was out was the cost of a water and fuel sensor and time. At the time of this post, the truck has nearly 832,000 miles as I just did a trip to Teton Valley and back to Washington and the transmission ran beautifully. The service work the technician did was otherwise perfect and this type of mistake could happen to anyone, so I do not fault Barrett and I would gladly use them again and intend to. The fact that they honored this situation without question is an indication of a shop that has integrity.

He laid out all of the options - with explanations, and did not make me feel pressured in making my choice. I feel they were honest, and were not trying to make the most money out of the job, but rather wanted me as the customer to be happy with the overall experience. When I chose the least expensive option, they still treated me like a valued customer. They completed the job on time, and within budget. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel their customer service and quality of work was so exceptional, I wanted to make sure to let others know about them. I will absolutely use them again if needed, in fact I won't go anywhere else now, and will refer all my family and friends to them as well. Finding a company that still operates honestly and with sincere customer service in todays world is very difficult. Wilf's is a GEM!!!

I have a Ford Escape, there is no way it takes this long to order a part. If we don't call them, we don't hear anything. I called them this morning, and they offered me an appointment after explaining the diagnostic process. I was happy to wait the two weeks until the appointment, I know how business works and I am not above the others in line. However, when I asked "is it safe to commute 100 miles per day until then"....Savannah almost immediately put me on hold to speak with her supervisor. She came back and asked if they could see it TOMORROW instead. The feeling of impending doom that comes with an unknown car issue, had my voice wavering on the phone trying to hold it together. She must have felt it, and switched into compassion mode very quickly and made me feel heard and validated when I needed it the most. I haven't even had the service work done, and I already know that I made the right choice in coming to them.

I'm from out of town and broke down on my way into PA due to a shop back at home doing a bad job…read morewith a clutch install. I first went to a different shop in PA which sent me here because they thought the whole transmission was bad (I was skeptical of this because to me it really felt like the clutch was slipping, but I figured a transmission place would still be able to work on a clutch, whereas a regular shop might not be able to do transmission work if that was actually the problem). Bayview could have taken advantage of me because they knew I was stuck out of town and had a 2-3 week lead time for most work. They also could have told me that it was the transmission and charged a lot for fixing that. However, they agreed that it was just the clutch and got me in and out with a new clutch in under 2 days. Being a city slicker, I also ended up actually saving money overall, since labor charges are relatively low here compared to in Seattle. The new clutch felt great from the start (unlike the bad one that grated and crunched in 1 and R from the beginning, which the installers refused to acknowledge, despite the grating and crunching continuing for almost 2 years) and has been performing as expected since. If I ever needed a transmission rebuild that wasn't an emergency situation, I might honestly consider coming out here for the work and making a trip out of it. Also, the desk people were super nice!
