I came in today looking for a pair of safety shoes and was so glad to be helped by Diane. She provided very exceptional service to me while helping 2 other customers at the same time. Because of her I will be returning to this location and telling fellow co workers about my experience. read more

My wife had a field day here thanks to Dan A!!! Thank you so much bc she bought the whole store out! Well almost! Can I tell you we had driven a hundred times past this store??? Bc my wife retired from working at the Med Center & basically can only wear good supportive shoes due to her plantar fasciitis, neuromas, flat feet, high arches & osteoarthritis in her knee. Yup! Ever since the Walking Store closed their doors she needed to find a local shoe store where she can try on shoes IN PERSON!!! They have been closed for over 4 years though they are online only. Online sucks for her. She needs to try on shoes in person. She prefers to buy shoes close by to home. Unfortunately Nordstrom's closed their doors at Arden. We could probably go to the Rack. Nawww not the same service. Dan basically gave my wife personal service! She got spoiled here! Dan even brought out shoes from the back not shown out on display in the shoe store. There were a few styles she never heard before and needed to try them on in the store. They even sell Hokas & Aetrex here! She was so HAPPY & totally in SHOE HEAVEN! Woohoo! Thank you Dan for taking care of my wife bc we will absolutely be back! My wife is so happy. She bought 5 pairs of shoes & a pair of Aetrex orthotics! Thanks DAN A!!! It was my wife's first time in this store & it will NOT be her last! She almost went again today! Heehee. Oh btw shoes here are not a dime a piece. You must be ready to spend a fortune. But excellent quality does come at a PRICE. Dan told my wife the busiest day in the store is Monday. Bc people from the industry shop here more so than the weekends. She just so happened to appear the following day... read more

My daily walk is on hard surfaces and I started to have pain problems with my right foot, heel area. Prior to visiting Becks, my doctor confirmed it was an arch problem. My research and Yelp reviews led me to Becks. Heather took me thru the entire process and based on scan information and accurate measuring of both feet, she recommended several different types of shoes. I ultimately purchased a pair and have had no further heel pain. Heather was patient, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. The store was stocked with a nice variety and I do plan to return to purchase more (the shoes were a good price). What I really was thankful for was that there was no pressure to purchase or join anything. I wasn't made to feel like I had to be a hard core runner to buy good shoes. I felt valued and my purchase was appreciated. read more

I will shop no where else for shoes in the future provided I can get a ride. This is a hands-on customer centered shopping experience where the staff's kindness is matched only by their robust knowledge of their product. Deserving of mention is their willingness and ability to work patiently with special needs customers. This is how one should run a business. They've got what's missing in this age. read more

If it were a play this review of Beck's Shoes would start with "acutely realized." Immaculate store with a well trained professional staff. Long a fixture in Sacramento the experience shows. No black men's dress shoes..., none. You'll need to go elsewhere for your Ferragamo's or To Boot New York needs. Topping out at a Florsheim Postino Cap in Cognac, I purchased a terrific Florsheim half-boot, the selection is a little thin but very high quality. The sales person would make an outstanding Realtor as she is "always closing" and you can expect to be hustled gently in a "we both know the drill" way with the pseudo science of the, fun!, pressure sensor display to entice you to buy inserts; which you should get anyway. There's also a fine selection of Birkenstock's which seemed both incongruous and witty at the same time. I'll return again, and again... read more

Beck's Shoes - Shoes! - Shoe Stores Near Me - Sacramento, California

Beck's Shoe Emporium is one of those old school businesses you pass every day that still manages to create a nice customer experience with a large selection of footwear. They are located on the corner of Fruitridge and Stockton Blvd in Sacramento. According to the original 1955 rendering hanging on the wall, this used to be a woman's apparel store. This is part of the historic pictures hanging around the store distracting from the large amount of Raiders paraphernalia in the back room. History aside, Beck's stocks a large selection of modern specialty footwear including safety and comfort shoes. This is the place to go for work boots and shoes that actually help your feet. The staff can help you choose your best options. The interior and exterior are rather basic with many of the classic features. Parking is rather abundant with Sunday hours too. Beck's stocks Doc Martins, Wolverine, Keen, SAS, and many other options for your tired soles. Come for the shoes and stay for the history. read more

I've had leg and foot pain for years, tried several shoes and inserts. When I saw that Becks had Aetrex I went in and got help from Dezaray. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I got the Aetrex inserts and some socks, both of which changed my life. I can walk without pain. I'll be back for shoes! Thank you read more

Thanks to Martina, I was able to get some good walking shoes that was much needed. I would definitely go back to purchase additional shoes there. Martina also recommended some shoes that would help for just around the house. read more

Clean, looked-after shop with great selection of steel toed work boots (and more). Was helped by Patrick who offered a free foot size measuring, and a quick sole analysis using their scanning area. I can't recall the last time someone took the time to make sure my purchase would fit correctly and comfortably. Will be back for my next pair of shoes/inserts, and will recommend to folks in the area. Excellent experience. read more

We were able to find great quality steel toe boots at a great price. The service was also very good and welcoming. I would recommend this to any working person who's job required steel toed shoes. read more

Glad we went in today to look for some comfortable shoes for my son. Patrick helped us out & was able to get Mihijo into just the right pair of comfy dress shoes he was looking for plus even found ortho sandals for him & a pair of super comfy boots for me. Will have to go back in Spring for my ortho sandals. If you're looking for quality comfortable shoes this is the store for you! read more

Last weekend I took my mom shop for orthopedic shoes. Normally she has such a hard time finding comfortable shoes. The sales lady Brittney was so kind and helpful. She even helped my mom in and out of the chair when she got up. She made lots of suggestions we actually found 5 pairs she liked and ordered one from a different location. I think this store has the best quality and selection for what we were looking for. The sales girl had so much patience with my elderly mother. Her kindness stood out we had gone to two other stores that carried ortho Sandals and shoes that day..and the sales people at Becks were the first to take the time to really assist. I'm glad we finally found my mother shoes that she liked. read more

I hesitate to share how awesome this shoe store is. It's seriously my best kept secret. Do NOT let the location put you off !! Do NOT think Beck's is only for work shoes !! Do NOT think this is a small local shoe shop. Basically Jason G got it wrong and gives this store 3 stars for uhhhhh what exactly ? I've been buying from Beck's for over 30 years in the Bay Area, where the majority of their stores are, and was ecstatic to find one when I moved here. The store in Sacramento seems to have the original sign from the 60s so they must be doing something right to still be open ! This store is located on the corner of Stockton and Fruitridge, set back and on the end/corner of a block of stores, so there's plenty of parking, and it feels, and is, safe and accessible. They carry Uggs, Reeboks, Taos, Rockport and Skechers so definitely NOT just work shoes. If you have foot problems, but want to look stylish and feel as if you're walking on a cloud all day, GO here ! My feet don't hurt anymore after some Cobb Hill and Spring Step brands were recommended to me. Plantar fasciitis ? Fallen arches ? Wide feet ? You WILL be taken care of ! They even carry Super Feet Insoles and Orthaheels ! Did I mention Tara ? She is beyond terrific ! She is intuitive, she is friendly and courteous, she is quick but thorough, she knows shoes !! She listened to my exhaustive list of complaints, my can's and cannot's and like a magician with ESP presented me with a variety of shoes for every situation, that were EXACTLY what I was looking for ! Shop at Beck's Shoes you WON'T be disappointed ... but shhhhhh, let's keep it our lil' secret ... =) read more

My dad has been struggling with back and hip issues for about a year now and has frequently visited his chiropractor and general health practitioner about this. We stopped in the shopping mall area for brunch after church and headed into Beck's to take a look around. With the help of Patrick, the assistant manager, we chose three different pairs of orthopedic sandals and slides for my dad. These are amazing! Very light weight with great arch support which is helping keep pressure off of his joints and keep him alined. He actually wore a pair out of the store and have had them on the rest of the day and is feeling considerably less pain. I'm so thankful for the store and for the help and suggestions of Patrick. read more

My mom needed work shoes for her company and was told from her boss to come here. She went with her sister the first time and was greeted with bad service. The bald man working there completely ignored her. She left without getting any help. She still needed the shoes so I went with her the next trip. It was the same man. He stared at us while we shopped without a smile. When we asked for a specific size, he came back with the box and tried to take the other shoes my mom was trying out of her hands, like if we were trying to steal it. I had to tell him she was still trying them out. He later asked how the shoes were and we said it was good. He threw the shoe back in the box and said "Are you going to pay for them?" only seconds from us trying them on. He has terrible customer service. read more

I went into Beck's Shoe Emporium for the first time this past weekend and was greeted by a very nice gentleman named James Musgrave. He is the manager of this store. As I was looking around, he was very helpful with answering my questions about the different brands of shoes and guided me to the right brands to look at for my particular situation. I ended up making a purchase of two pairs of shoes, plus a purse that caught my eye. My experience going into Beck's Shoe Emporium was great and will definitely go back in the future. Thank you James for your great customer service!!! read more

I have been a customer since 2008, since my wife talked me into going in. They have a very amazing selection of shoes both brands and styles. My biggest reasons for returning at 1. I like the most amazing brand of socks for men. The brand is Wigwam. They are American made, well fitting and long lasting. When I got my first ones they had a one year warranty, now it is two years. They never seem to wear out. I still wear the original ones, but had to add to them because of some older ones of other bands were not being warn because they did not fit right. 2. I like the staff. They are courteous, helpful and patient. I especially recommend James Musgrave the team leader. Check out the store I believe you will be glad you did. Norman Pollitt read more

I went into becks because I have plantar fasciitis or should I say had plantar fasciitis. I was recommended by my sister who went in and got Hoka shoes and orthotics and amazing service from a young woman named Dezaray. My sister is very hard to please so when she bragged on how wonderful this young lady was I knew it had to be something so I decided to go check it out for myself. Never in the last 53 years of my life have I ever gotten such customer service. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with the biggest smile and I have never felt so welcomed into a retail store. The amount of things that I learned about my feet that day absolutely blew my mind! That young lady taught me what my phalanges, metatarsal bones, and calcaneus (heel bone) are !! Never have I met a retail associate so knowledgeable and passionate about their job! I got fitted and two orthotics that fit my arch specifically she even gave me this cool foot scan to find out what my arch type was. She even got me really cool socks that help out with my bunion. If you have feet problems or just need comfortable walking shoes I'm telling you go see this young lady she is going to fit you the proper way! You have gained two customers for life my sister and I will never shop anywhere else for our shoes and orthotics! I want to thank Dezaray for restoring my faith in human kindness. You are awesome!!! read more

Well I will say they have a nice selection of shoes for the area. However I have found that most of their merchandise is a little overpriced than the other retail stores. This is the only place I go to buy shoes. I have problem feet and use orthotics. For the past 9 years I bought men's shoes due to the extra depth/width I required. I was recently fitted with new orthotics with less correction. I found 6 pair of shoes in the women's section. James is patient and will go the extra effort to find the perfect shoe to meet the needs of the customer's foot. I am always pleased with my purchases and highly recommend this store. read more

Decided to stop in to see what type of shoes they carry as we drove by. As we walked in, we were greeted instantly by Marissa. (Hope I am spelling her name right.). She measured our feet '& also preformed a pressure test of our feet before grabbing our shoes we requested. We bought two lovely pairs of grey New Balances along with two sets of sole inserts. Marissa was very knowledgable on her products making us feel comfortable purchasing them. She also helped me discover that I am a size bigger in shoes now. I have my new favorite pair of shoes I'm going to wear as much as I can ! They may be a little more pricey (for the penny pinchers) but a few more dollars is definitely worth the one on one interaction '& comfortable surrounding you never get from a crowded typical retail store, where you're pressed to buy shoes you don't want feeling rushed. You get what you pay for ! If you want a great comfortable shoe, stop by '& check this place out. Definitely returning for more ! Thank you Beck's ! read more

I am writing this review as I'm purchasing my slick Wolverine boots - the kind that add an increase of testosterone as you slip them on. Specifically, I have to rave about Kristina, the young and friendly blonde who made my experience worth Yelping about. She was basically alone and had to deal with helping me and a few other customers. Now, I am one of those annoying shoe shoppers who likes to try on five pairs at once, and she was patient with me as she tried to balance her time between customers. That's customer service, folks! Let me also note that my knowledge of the force allows me to observe the disposition of someone with calm and focused attention. This takes years of hard discipline, people. And what I picked up from Kristina, as she tied each each of my shoes and explained the features of each, was nothing short of a genuine kindness and professionalism. The respect I felt for her efforts made me control myself from staring down her shirt - which, if you know men of the prime and virile age of twenty-six, can be a challenge (and that's without the libido-enhancing boots on!). If I were you, I'd make sure Kristina was there before making your way over. read more

Terrible service from rude man named Patrick. James was super kind Patrick not at all. I went to return shoes.James started helping me,when very rude guy broke in to the conversation. With out too much detail I took my shoes and walked out. James being kind brought me water since 108 out. I finished transaction outside. I had a receipt and all. Patrick treated me like i was up to no good, pointing finger at me saying you have returned shoes before as if its a very terrible thing to do. My job pays for these shoes and i like to pick a better shoe and pay a little more get better shoe. I ended up not even shopping for better shoe due to this guy. James found me a pair i tried on outside in 108 degree weather. I just got what ever was easy so i could leave. I will never shop in there when this guy Patrick is working. I have no other choice but or go there or otherwise Reno to shop for better shoe. I drove 30 miles to get treated really bad on super hot day. Andrea Pappas read more

Just stopped in @Beck's. Was immediately greeted by James who provided great customer service. Although I didn't find anything that worked for me today (more of a problem with my combo of wide feet & preference for a feminine shoe), I will certainly be back! Long time customer ( + 30 years )I have used the shoe store for years to find shoes because of my disability. I purchased some sandals yesterday. I told the salesman at the time that I felt that they were too big and he argued with me stating at the end of the argument " we have a 30 day return policy. " That should have been my cue to leave and I should have left the business at the time . I attempted to wear the shoes last night and walk down my driveway to go to the car I almost fell twice because the sandals and the fact that they were too big . I attempted to return them this morning and was told that because they were worn I could not return them . Let me assure you that the rubber soles only had some driveway dust on them no scuffs ....no marks and could have been wiped off with a towel and resold. In any in every other way the sandal was perfect. I will never shop at this store again and would suggest that anyone who wants to be treated fairly should not also . read more
