My daughter scraped off several tablespoons of butter from her ham sandwich then asked for mustard which made it taste better. My chicken Alfredo with veggies and spaetzel was bland and could have used salt and pepper but the chicken was tender and the sauce was yummy. We were came at an off hour time so there wasn't really a wait - only cause they were behind in clearing and cleaning tables. Oh man i was unable to take a pic of the food because my phone died but i got a cheeseburger and a veal sausage and some cheese raclette. they were all mids and had no flavor it tasted like the food was microwaved! even the cheese tasted like it came from a premade dish but nonetheless this was the most affordable option on the strip so i saved a ton of money i don't think it is a tourist trap but they can absolutely do better do not get the glizzy get the burger the ambiance is pretty calm and the service is good but at night bugs come out from outside so be sure to dine indoors and if gets pretty cold too read more

This was the worst meal I've had in years! The bratwurst came with pomme frites were boiled, unsealed, and a mess. I can't believe this is what they are putting out. The plates, silverware, and bowls for the bread were unsanitary and were not properly washed. On a positive note the views are incredible if you dine on the patio. We took a chance. We ordered the cheesy piggy hamburger and we could barely see and taste the cheese. Burger was ok but nothing like the photo on the menu. The fries were weak- flavorless. Barry's fries across the street destroys Bebbi's fries. Although wait staff were nice, not the most attentive throughout the meal and when requesting the check. The view from the restaurant is incredible so maybe they believe the food does not have to be stellar- to some degree that's true because there are not that many restaurants and it is a tourist trap. Bebbis is just a tourist trap, its rating of 2 was generous. The food is like you would find at a base lodge of a ski area in the USA. The hamburger patties were obviously the frozen kind that you get at a grocery store. Although tipping is not the norm in Europe, if you are American, they will put you on the spot when you pay, and say "service is not included, would you like to add it"? They didn't say that to either of the tables beside us, only us. Don't be fooled by the video screenshots of their food on the outside monitors. While we were in Grindlewald during November, most of the restaurants in the area were closed so we went to Bebbis out of necessity. Plus, we were intrigued by some of their local dishes. The first thing I noticed was their service, which wasn't the greatest. Although several servers looked at us, we weren't greeted until much later. Once seated, we felt very rushed to order and our server weren't very friendly at all when we tried to ask questions about the menu. The food was ok. Everything was a little on the blander side and it was a challenge to flag down the server for anything! We went there a 2nd time on a different day -- again, out of necessity more than anything -- this time for lunch. We waited for a really long time to be seated again although the restaurant was more than 1/2 empty. There were several tables by the window that were available so I asked if we could be seated in 1 of them. Our server flat out said "no" without any explanation. I can understand if none of the window-side tables were being utilized but most had patrons and there were a few that were empty in between. Just moments later, a couple that came in after us was offered one of the tables by the window! And no, they didn't have any reservations! I was seated by the entrance so I heard them asking for a table. I don't want to speculate as to why but I can't help but wonder if it's appearance based (most of the patrons who sat by the windows were dressed really nicely/wealthy-looking while my husband and I were dressed "down" in sporty clothing). Were seated quickly but it took some time to arrive for the order. One milkshake took much too long to get to the table. Food was hot and relatively good. The service at this establishment was disappointing. The server didn't take our order for 20 minutes and it required us flagging a him down. We saw that it was advertised on their street window that they had milkshakes, so we thought we would try those. After ordering a chocolate and strawberry shake's it took another 15 minutes to receive our shakes to our table ( There was only 3 other group of 2 in the restaurant). When we received the shakes they were essentially a splash of milk, water, and syrup. The consistency was that of pure liquid and nothing like a shake. We ordered the fondue and a side of fries and a salad. The place reminded me of a typical touristy restaurant nothing crazy special but it was clean and had a great view. The servers and I mean all of them were so nice and attentive! They were quick with everything we ordered. The cheese fondue was good but kinda strange. After reading a view reviews I'm concluding they put too much wine in it. This was the only fondue we tried so I'm not sure if that's how all fondues taste. We are in the middle of beautiful Grindelwald looking for a place to eat but we failed to consult Yelp! and so we ended up here. Bebbis is the absolute worse place I have ever eaten in. I wish I could give it less than one star. My husband ordered the melted cheese plate that was supposed to come with potatoes and onions. It was a hunk of cheese melted on a plate with a tiny potato (the circumference of a quarter), about 4 pickled pearled onions--that was all. My son and daughter ordered the veal sausage with shredded potatoes. The sausage tasted like the little canned Vienna sausages but worse, and the potatoes were obviously frozen. I ordered the stewed pork with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were not mashed potatoes; they were the crappy dehydrated potatoes that they served in school lunch when I was little--they were even the same fake butter yellow. Absolutely disgusting. The pork was tough and very low quality meat, and it was covered in a brown gravy that tasted like it had just been poured from a can--you know the flavor from tin cans? That was it. We have never regretted a meal as much as this one, and the fact that it cost us over 150 CHFs didn't help. They charged about the same of all other restaurants around but I cannot believe that any of them could be as bad. read more

I had a late lunch and the place had a few folks there, in part because the window seating offered some nice views of the surrounding area. We had a super nice server, which at the end of our meal we learned she was a Chinese student studying in Switzerland. She was extremely friendly and tried to be very attentive to us. The positives are now covered......the kitchen screwed up the order and while the staff was very apologetic it just seemed that things were relatively disorganized. The food, as others have commented, is not great. While prices may seem high, it's emblematic of what you would expect to pay in a resort town in Switzerland, so it's par for the course. WARNING: DO NOT EAT HERE unless you were marooned on an island full of gold and eating lettuce for the last 8 months!!! This place was terrible. Fortunately, we only ate lunch...(that is the only positive of this review). We ordered a burger and pasta for the kids, and my wife and I split a burger and salad. When the food finally arrived (took way too long) the burgers were terrible; I think the patties were formally frozen and the bread was so dry that it broke apart when you picked it up. Here's the crazy part: the kids burger is 15.5 CHF and the adult burger is 21.5 CHF (which already is super high but tourist town right?!), but they were the exact same size and exact same plates! The kids spaghetti seemed like it was made from leftovers; my daughter keep biting into hard strands of either old or uncooked pasta. Salad was mediocre at best and the dressing was a combination of water and mayonnaise. My wife and I tried to wash down the food on their beers but the 1/2 sprite in them (yes, sprite) keep us from being able to properly chug them. You might think, "Well in a tourist town, sometimes you get a bad meal at a trap." I would agree except the meal came to a whopping 90 CHF!!! I would be embarrassed to serve the food and even more embarrassed to drop the check. At half the price, I would have chalked it up to a trap, but at 90 CHF?!?! We had a beautiful dinner in Adelboden complete with wine for 10 CHF more. I have never had such a bad meal and would hope this place goes out of business soon; however, seeing some of the reviews from 8 months ago are making doubt my optimism. I wish I would have consulted Yelp! like others have said below, but I didn't. If you made it this far in the review, good for you and hope I've saved you some money and time you will never get back...ever. *Note: i would have given this a legit 1/2 star for the view because it is great. Sitting here in covid-19 quarantine thinking about our trip to Switzerland last May 2019. We were staying in beautiful Grindelwald and looking for a place to eat. We stumbled upon Bebbis and went inside because they advertised pizza and we had a very large group to feed (11 ppl). After being seated and waters delivered we were told that they were out of pizza. We almost left but decided that we could all find something on the menu. We ordered everything from burgers to fondue, to salads and sandwiches but there was not really one edible item that was delivered to our table. The fondue smelled like vomit and the veggies to dip were once frozen, microwaved warmed and soggy. We may have had a few people eat their french fries and pieces of the non rusted iceberg lettuce from the salad. We totally wished we had consulted trip advisor or yelp before eating here! Our bill was huge and we left hungry. However, if given the opportunity to travel to Switzerland right now during lockdown and the only stipulation was I'd have to eat a meal at Bebbis, I think I'd would do it so there's that. ‍ read more
