This was the worst meal I've had in years! The bratwurst came with pomme frites were boiled, unsealed, and a mess. I can't believe this is what they are putting out. The plates, silverware, and bowls for the bread were unsanitary and were not properly washed. On a positive note the views are incredible if you dine on the patio. This is a tourist trap - look elsewhere!

While we were in Grindlewald during November, most of the restaurants in the area were closed so we went to Bebbis out of necessity. Plus, we were intrigued by some of their local dishes. The first thing I noticed was their service, which wasn't the greatest. Although several servers looked at us, we weren't greeted until much later. Once seated, we felt very rushed to order and our server weren't very friendly at all when we tried to ask questions about the menu. The food was ok. Everything was a little on the blander side and it was a challenge to flag down the server for anything! We went there a 2nd time on a different day -- again, out of necessity more than anything -- this time for lunch. We waited for a really long time to be seated again although the restaurant was more than 1/2 empty. There were several tables by the window that were available so I asked if we could be seated in 1 of them. Our server flat out said "no" without any explanation. I can understand if none of the window-side tables were being utilized but most had patrons and there were a few that were empty in between. Just moments later, a couple that came in after us was offered one of the tables by the window! And no, they didn't have any reservations! I was seated by the entrance so I heard them asking for a table. I don't want to speculate as to why but I can't help but wonder if it's appearance based (most of the patrons who sat by the windows were dressed really nicely/wealthy-looking while my husband and I were dressed "down" in sporty clothing). Anyway, whatever the true reason was for the seating arrangement, that experience left a bad taste in my mouth as it appears (to me) to be somewhat blatant favoritism.

Solid for family dining al fresco with a priceless view, get there early to avoid the crowd. They have traditional Swiss and standard western food menu items. Not pricey nor fancy.

The service at this establishment was disappointing. The server didn't take our order for 20 minutes and it required us flagging a him down. We saw that it was advertised on their street window that they had milkshakes, so we thought we would try those. After ordering a chocolate and strawberry shake's it took another 15 minutes to receive our shakes to our table ( There was only 3 other group of 2 in the restaurant). When we received the shakes they were essentially a splash of milk, water, and syrup. The consistency was that of pure liquid and nothing like a shake. We threw them out as soon as we walked outsidWe wanted to like this place, but would NOT recommend based on service or their menu items.

Should have read reviews prior to coming. We ordered a burger and salad, the burger looked nothing like the picture and tastes like something you can buy and grill at Costco. The salad was even worse, both were over 20CHF/USD

We were given the best seat in the house, which was a bay window with breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. Our waitress was very friendly and also joined us for conversation around the fire. Like all Michelin star fine dining restaurants, this is all about sensory dining on a menu designed to focus on the flavor and ingredients of the region. Modernist cuisine plays nicely with the traditional. Note: Prefix menus include a full vegetarian option. Any item can be ordered ala carte as well. Exceptional amuse course in three bites teases you with the taste of mountain herbs to cheese, to pickles and breads. Menu descriptions are deceivingly simple guaranteeing a surprise as each dish is delivered and tasted. The "Risotto"; mushrooms, seven mountain herbs and the incredibly creamy, aged Acquerello rice (gratis from the chef), excellent. Vibrant green in color, mounted with Swiss butter to finish. Very creamy, exploding with familiar and new flavors including an pronounced herb similar in aroma to the original Ricola. Baby mushrooms sautéed in rich butter and aggressively seasoned in contrast to raw sliced white mushrooms adorn the rice. The earthiness of the raw mushrooms and it's lack of richness adds contrast. Such a simple but rich and delicious dish. "Edible Crab", a trio of fresh picked and simply formed rounds of crab topped by mysterious pickled this and that in an intensely flavored soup of green beans and zesty lemon finished with drops of citrus oil. The pleasing medicinal notes of the pickles serve to smooth the briny, oceanic flavor of the crab. So many foreign flavors that blend beautifully together. Outstanding. "Green Beans" - the essence of a bean. The highly concentrated puree with beans in various states of being cooked or pickled. Tomato adds bright acidity to the refreshing, intriguing "soup". Escalope (Venison loin), amazing. Simply seasoned with salt and cooked rare, excellent. Gamey in all the right ways. Extremely tender, dense, juicy and flavorful. It pairs well with the tart mountain cranberry sauce that heightens the pleasing metallic notes and a uber rich butter poached king oyster mushroom that brings meaty decadence. Finally the wiener schnitzel, done the way it should be. Very thin slices of tender veal surrounded by a golden brown, fluffy crust oozing with rich butter flavor. Impressive in its utter simplicity. Petit fours and assortment of incredible Swiss chocolate round out the meal. Exceptionally friendly service lacking any stuffiness. Extremely well chosen wine list focuses on the wines of the country. An excellent meal that showcases the region and what Swiss food can be elevated to.

What is interesting about the setup is that after you order at the register, they give you a ticket with your order on it, which you take to the counter. The cooks will then make your food right in front of you while you wait, and will ask you if you want more ore less seasoning, more or less vegetables, which type of pasta, etc. Then make sure that you grab your side salad (seems to be included with every meal, but we forgot to grab one from the end of the counter), and dig in. The food is never going to get a Michelin star, but in comparison to the blandness of literally every other meal we had, the pasta dish here was a solid performance. The pasta wasn't over cooked, the vegetables were fresh and cooked enough to heat them without losing their crunch, and the quantity was perfectly decent.
