I can confidently say that Carr Subaru is one of the worst dealerships I have ever dealt with…read more Between my initial leasing experience and what happened most recently, the lack of professionalism, transparency, and respect for customers time is beyond frustrating.
When I leased my 2025 Subaru Forester Sport, the dealership failed to properly process my financial paperwork. For MONTHS, I had to repeatedly call just to figure out how to make my lease payments. Think about that...I was practically begging a dealership to let me pay them. When the paperwork was finally corrected, I was forced to make two or three payments at once to catch up, all because of an issue they created. It was an incredibly frustrating experience.
Fast-forward to this week. I'm roughly two years into my three-year lease when I receive a call from a salesperson named Eric around 7 p.m. He tells me that Carr Subaru can get me out of my current lease ONE YEAR EARLY, put me into a brand-new 2026 Subaru Forester, with ZERO money down and the SAME monthly payment, and simply restart my three-year lease.
Naturally, I was interested! I've been a loyal Subaru customer for five years, and I had every intention of continuing with the brand. The offer sounded like a great opportunity, so I agreed to come in.
I showed up at the dealership on a Friday, spent time with Eric looking at their inventory, and eventually he went back to run the numbers.
That's when everything changed.
The sales manager came out and immediately apologized, saying he "didn't want to waste my time," but there was absolutely no way they could offer me the same monthly payment. He then suggested that if I was interested in a different vehicle, they could potentially work something out at a higher monthly payment.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
You specifically called ME. You presented ME with an offer. You convinced ME to come into your dealership based on very specific terms. And once I got there, suddenly those terms weren't even remotely possible?
That is the definition of a bait-and-switch sales tactic, and it's completely unacceptable.
What frustrated me even more was how many times the sales manager repeated that he "didn't want to waste my time."
Sir, my time was already wasted the moment your dealership convinced me to come in under false expectations.
I didn't walk into Carr Subaru looking for a new vehicle. I wasn't shopping around. I was perfectly happy with my current lease. Your salesperson reached out to me with an offer that apparently couldn't be honored, and then your team attempted to redirect me toward something else.
Whether this was intentional or simply a complete lack of communication and competence within the dealership, neither explanation is acceptable.
After five years of loyalty to Subaru, it's disappointing that a dealership representing the brand would conduct business this way.
Carr Subaru has officially lost my business. I will not be returning for service during the remainder of my lease, and if I decide to lease another Subaru in the future, it certainly won't be through this dealership.
Customers deserve honesty, transparency, and respect for their time. Unfortunately, based on my experiences, Carr Subaru has demonstrated a serious lack of all three.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering this dealership to think twice and make sure every promise is documented before wasting their time.
