My husband and I got married at this venue on October 5, 2024. We toured this venue on March 19,…read more2023. When we had first toured the venue we were told that the base price was 7900 which included the day of one hour rehearsal, and set up of tables for reception and ceremony when we had toured the venue it was a seemingly nice venue, family owned and very communicative. After we had chosen this venue for our wedding day and put down our deposit we were then told that we would not be able to schedule our wedding rehearsal until the week of the wedding, this came as a shock since we were not told this when we had first toured the venue. As time went on, I would frequently message and email the person I had toured with which was Kerry the woman who owns the venue. Whenever I reached out or asked a question there was a very late response, short response or no response at all. The only time that the people from the venue were responsive was when it came to money. Also, when it came to money, they recommended that we paid everything in cash in which we did I would follow up, always asking for some sort of receipt or documentation in which they never provided any. Finally, when the wedding came, we were able to book the rehearsal a few days before the wedding. We also had to do our bar services through the venue since they do not let you provide your own alcohol or your own bartenders. You have to do a package through the venue. The day of the wedding was fine, but there were a few things that I would like to note. The bar staff came right before the bar opened at seven and nothing was prepared. They served warm beer and barely had any mixers. The wedding guest complained about the drinks, the service and the lack of accommodation. For example, we had to provide our own water so my mom went and bought 6/7 cases of water which they did not give to guests so at the end of the night she just ended up taking them home. The father of the groom even went up to order at one point and was not serviced right away, even though there were three bartenders and no one in line for the bar. For bar services we paid over $6000 for three hours of open bar for 150 guests. I also want to note that prior to the wedding. I had reached out to Cody (son of Kerry) who also works for the venue and asked if the caterer that we hired would be able to serve beer/wine which he had quickly responded with a yes, when the day of the wedding came, the bartender said they would not be able to give the beer or wine to the waitresses due to, the possibility of it being served to people under 21. Also, during the ceremony we had popped some confetti made out of paper. Quickly after the manager, that was there came up to some of our guests/ wedding party that had popped the confetti and had asked them to immediately clean it up rather than asking them to do it at least by the end of the day. There was also a situation with the projector, not working. We had made a slideshow to show our guest and the projector was not working properly. After the wedding, I followed up with the venue to let them know about my experience which I spoke with the owner and she had excuses for why she was absent and just reiterated how great their venue is despite our experience. I'm writing this review to warn others who are looking into finding a venue for their special day. I would not recommend working with this venue, considering they are unresponsive, not accommodating, sketchy. Not sure who all this situation is relatable for but I hope no one else has to experience this type of unprofessional service.

The family truly cares about your experience. You can feel that with every thing they do. 12/10 recommend! Its a beautiful facility PLUS you can bring in all your own vendors (except for the bar, but even that is SUPER reasonable for costs) and its super spacious. Did I mention their gardens? The magnolia trees are what dreams are made of.

The views from the arena are a stunning backdrop for any bride and groom wanting have an outdoor ceremony. Inside the barn there are three defined spaces. The foyer with its high ceilings and comfy furniture welcoming you inside. This is also where the restrooms are located. They have two newly constructed restrooms with multiple stalls in addition to the two original ones. The venue provides tables and chairs and table coverings for your event. There's a built in rustic bar in the corner of the main event space where clients can have a hired bartender serving drinks of their choice. The facilities are set up for a catering company to bring in the food of the clients choice or your band/DJ to unload easily with large rolling door access on either end of the barn. I visited in February so the trees were bare but I can only imagine how gorgeous the space looks in the spring, summer and fall. We were told they host smaller meetings there being able to block off spaces for a more intimate feel or can seat up to 1500 utilizing the whole space.

I booked this venue for my daughter's baby shower (my first grandchild) because she wanted to have…read moreit near family so her great grand parents could attend. Neither my daughter or I live in North Carolina so we had to travel. When I first reached out to the owner Nicole she was very pleasant and it made me feel comfortable to spend my money with her. She provided me all the details involved in my package and I was satisfied with the details and what I was getting for my money so, I locked in. Once locked in Nicole's communication changed. She took forever to respond back to my questions about decor and then proceeded to tell me we have plenty of time to go over decorations because my shower is in January and we will get tighter in December to discuss. I understood and tried not to bother her unless I had questions that needed to be answered from my caterer. December arrives and still nothing so o reached out and again I had to wait for a response. By this time I'm getting anxious because I have already paid the full amount for the for the event. When I did finally speak with her, I asked if we can have a Zoom meeting because I am from out of town to see what she had decorating wise, and she proceeded to tell me that she had not purchased the item yet, but she will have them the day of the shower that made me real uneasy. I contacted her on my way into town to inform her that I will be there and ask if I can come see the venue prior to the baby shower which was three days before and she told me that she would not be available until the morning of that again made me real uneasy because I didn't know what I was walking into. I was informed by my Caterer that she didn't even know what time the event started and she stated that she didn't realize it was that earl. I have never worked with a professional that I was unable to see the event space or the decorations and give my stamp of approval since I am the paying customer and this is my vision that they are bringing to life. On the day of the shower, I received a text message from Nicole that informed me that I can now come before 10 am at 9:15am. I replied back that I was going to be late and Nicole called me 30 minutes later to informed me she had left the venue and proceeded to give me instructions on Cleanup. I was in shock when she said she left because I had never met this woman. Once arrived I had trouble finding the venue because it's inside a building and she had me come through the back. The building has horrible reception and I issues with getting directions from Nicole without going outside because her venue is located on the basement. When I finally got down in the basement and saw the spot I was immediately disappointed. The decorations were lack luster. A lot of wall space that had not been covered with decorations. The table formula daughter and husband to sit at was barely decorated and I didn't care for it at all. I couldn't get anything to work until she finally provided me the WiFi and then only the music I was able to get to work, but I was able was unable to use the tv to do the slideshow of pics we discussed. The bathrooms are on the outside of the venue which isn't a problem unless you have a key which I didn't have and I had to keep asking the ladies across the hall for the key as they were trying to braid hair. No tissue in the rest rooms so we had to figure out who to ask. Had she waited around for my arrival to greet me as a paying customer and give me instructions and a tour in person things could've been a little better knowing your service sucks in a basement. Needless to say, I did not enjoy myself and I tried to keep my cool for my daughter's sake. I wanted this to turn out beautiful. We traveled way too far for mediocrity and I paid a good penny for her service that was very lackluster and unprofessional. I'm just now settling to write this review because I was so disappointed. I couldn't even talk to her when she decided to come at the end for clean up because I didn't want to make a scene and embarrass my child. This experience has put a bad taste in my mouth about planning an event out of state. I hate giving bad reviews, but this experience was horrible.

On the day of the wedding, I was genuinely relaxed. They handled so much behind the scenes and made it all look effortless. I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Allie and Savannah! They went above and beyond and were such a big part of making the day run perfectly. Rob and I appreciate you guys so much. Truly, the entire team was incredible. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and everything went off without a hitch. The food was amazing (we did the plated meal), the drinks were strong, and the Photo Booth was a huge hit! Most importantly, we had such a fun, unforgettable time. Everyone has been telling us how perfect everything looked and how much fun they had (and we can be a rowdy crew, haha). We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. Highly recommend!

From the very first planning meeting to the last dance of the night, we felt genuinely cared for. As two busy working professionals, the structure and support from Wedgewood Weddings & Events made our planning process feel manageable and bite-sized instead of overwhelming. Every step was organized, clear, and thoughtful. It allowed us to actually enjoy being engaged instead of drowning in spreadsheets. Sarah, Virginia, and Savannah were phenomenal. Truly. They anticipated needs before we even voiced them, answered every question with patience, and made us feel like our wedding was the only one that mattered. On the day of, Savannah in particular took such intentional care of both me and Kevin. She checked in constantly, kept things flowing seamlessly, and made sure we were present instead of stressed. As chefs and hotel people, service is everything to us. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The team followed our directions perfectly, respected our vision, and executed it beautifully. A moment that meant the world to us was watching the service staff go above and beyond to help my autistic nephew find something "safe" to eat during dinner. That kindness and awareness is not something you can train into people. It's heart. We also loved the intentional use of small businesses throughout the process. You can feel that Alexander Homestead values community and craftsmanship, and that matters. Our day felt seamless, warm, and deeply cared for from start to finish. We walked away not just married, but genuinely grateful. If you're considering this venue, stop looking. You've found it.
