We've been to Union Exchange several times to see live music. The farm is lovely and their music events never disappoint.

I love this place. Serene. Happy. Comfy. Genuine. Chickens walking about, warm fires burning, bands playing, wine pouring. What's not to like? During open season I drive past my grocer and buy here polenta, crackers, Carolina Gold rice, and free-range eggs. So bright, fresh, and orange--mmmmmm. Pouring a glass of wine with Lori, huddled beside a fire, or basking in the sun--life does not provide much better. Visits are free so who cares paying a little extra for your fare? Looking to unwind from the pressures of the day with quality foods, grog, and pathways? Has my "Give 'em a Whirl" meter screaming "Go here!

This was somewhere we have been meaning to check out for a while and finally made it. They truly have something for everyone here and have plans to continue adding to this already cool place. They have a little shop that has local artesian products from local honey to soap, candles, and even plants! There is a little coffee shop too that offers hot and cold coffee drinks as well as baked goodies! Outside is a large patio area with seating, and there is often live music. From the patio, you can see the lake and enjoy the views. We walked around the lake and then wandered the property. They have goats ,chickens, and a couple of donkeys, too ! In our travels, we chatted with Donetta, one of the may friendly, outgoing, and helpful staff on the property. She shared some of the future plans that include an arcade they are building, cabins down by the lake, a spa area, as well as pickleball and volleyball courts! Near the courts, they have a little sports bar when you can grab a beer, mimosa, or alcoholic slushie (non alcoholic as well). But wait, there is more! They have a food truck that is there permanently and offers some amazing smelling food at decent prices. We had eaten before we went, so we did not try anything but will next time! They have a small playground area as well. And if that is not enough to do, you can fish at the lake too, no license required (I'm pretty sure, double check though. Unfortunately, I was busy enjoying the day and kept forgetting to take pictures, you'll have to go look for yourself

This place is so nice! Beautiful grounds with a lake view. The store sells snacks, coffees, beer/wine etc. they have live music sometimes which is what k was out there for. It was such a nice and relaxing vibe. I can't wait to go back and enjoy this awesome place even more.

Friendly goats for anyone to pet.

Took my three and a half year old daughter here and it was well worth it. They had goats, chickens and supposedly ducks too that we didn't end up seeing and they are adding two donkeys to the mix too. There's a play ground and a nice lawn by a lake where you could run around barefoot or just have a picnic on a blanket. The little barn building where they have coffee and pastries is super cute with a modern rustic feel. They also have ice cream, games for the littles and adults and all kinds of little gift items like local homemade jam and mushroom scavenging brochures, flower pots, plants and herbs and books for children. The only thing I wish was that they had was matcha latte as an option or maybe golden latte since I'm not drinking coffee at the moment but they do have tea for those who don't drink coffee. Otherwise this is a nice place to take your young children for a little adventure

Such a pleasant surprise! Saw this super cute artisan market and farm on Instagram and wanted to check it out! Very welcoming as soon as you drive in, located on 50 acres with a huge pond you can walk around. The main building is very warm and cozy, filled with local goods for sale such as soaps, lotions and foods. Tables, couches and a coffee bar really add to the atmosphere. Wine and beer for sale too, along with everything needed to build a charcuterie board! Outside is amazing, plenty of patio seating with heaters, a working fire pit with s'mores kits for sale inside! Chickens and goats outside along with a bounce house for kids. Sounds like they are planning on major renovations and additions in the next few months. Truly enjoyed spending some time here, bought local kettle chips and beef jerky and enjoyed a lavender latte by the fire. Can't wait to see what the spring brings here!!

One of the fountains with four ducks enjoying the view. Beautiful and so peaceful in person.

We first visited last summer for a cozy birthday celebration for my husband and have returned a few times since...each experience better than the last. The owner, and her fiancé , are a delight to communicate with, and their passion for what they truly shines. We had dinner last night during their Sunset Series - Live Music. The entertainment was good, atmosphere was peaceful, and the view of the grounds were beautiful. My husband and I ordered the pork tenderloin...hands down, the best I've ever had. The chef even came out to clear our plates and even shared how she prepared it...such a kind gesture. Even though I'm not currently drinking, I still had a wonderful time sipping water and enjoying every moment. Laurel Haven is a place you'll want to return to again and again.

It looks like a ranch style home on the outside, and inside, it has a very big open floor plan. There is a bridal suite and a grooms suite as well. They have a full kitchen with an extra room connected that is filled with all types of decorations that you are allowed to use for your wedding or any event. They have an outside gazebo with an outside bar and firepit. They have plenty of photo op options with beautiful decor. We enjoyed the venue for our wedding (May 2023), and everything turned out beautiful. Kim & Chris definitely work with you on everything and anything to help make your day and the days leading to it run smoothly and easily. Communication was always great, and if I needed something quickly, they would accommodate me swiftly. Such a beautiful venue and exactly what we envisioned for our big day. They were the only venue i came across that you could use whichever catering, wedding planner, etc. you wanted too. Ynlike other venues where you had to choose from on of their options. The service was fine but our server was frazzled. It seemed they were light staffed, and it took a while to get our order and our drinks (which we could see sitting in the well). The food- the appetizers- they were great! Would eat the shrimp, crab dip and Brussels again. Shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned, as were the Brussels. The entrees - not so much. Essentially everyone was eating raw, cold meat. Our one friend said the short rib was fine, but needed salt. Everyone else got some type of steak that was woefully underdone (as in we ordered medium, and got it flash seared). One friend described it as just chewy, raw meat. We also got a side of asparagus, and they were the saddest stalks I had ever seen - pale and mushy - and maybe 6 stalks for $8 - not worth it. After the food came, we couldn't find our server, but there was also a wedding party coming in to the upper space. Overall, I think they bit off more than they could chew that evening, and we were left chewing on undercooked meat and sad sides.

Everything had great taste and flavor. The Korean BBQ wings and grilled shrimp had a really nice kick to them. Our bill came to about $130 for all the food (we only drank water), which felt fair for the quality and amount we ordered. You should definitely give it a try--we'll definitely be back!

This is a beautiful venue and I do not regret having my wedding here in September…read more I give it only 4 stars because of the difficulties I had with Julia, the Event Coordinator. She was unprofessional and very short with me when communicating though email even though I was nothing but friendly with her. When we first looked at the venue in person, she spent the whole time texting on her phone, and when I asked her questions about where couples typically have the ceremony she said "I don't really know anything about what they do because I am not here when they have the event." The worst part was the day of the event when Julia neglected to give me the passcode to enter---on the day of my wedding. We were doing the setup ourselves and working with very limited time and I ended up getting the code 45 minutes past when we should have had it! She claimed she "thought she had given it to me" and basically gave me a "whoops" when she looked back in her messages and found out she didn't. For a venue as nice as this, Julia certainly isn't doing them any favors. Otherwise, I have nothing but good things to say about this place. It is far more beautiful in person than what you see in the pictures, and the views from the inside and outside are amazing. I love that we could do both our ceremony outside in the sand, and our reception inside (with great views!) without having to have our guests change venues. It does, however, get very hot inside in the warmer months even with the fans and air conditioning since the place is screened in. All in all, the Lake House was the perfect casual, warm and inviting setting to have our small wedding!
