The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. It's the kind of space where you can slow down, clear your head, and quite literally stop and smell the roses. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. Bottom line: If you're looking for a small but charming botanical-style garden in Charlotte--a quiet place to reset, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors--this is a lovely little gem. It's like a personal garden with scattered benches and paths and tables. There's a ton of shade and a variety of plants to admire. Besides the pesky mosquitoes, I ADORE this place. We were dying. The venue is located right at Davidson and 26th or so in front of the breweries. There looked like there was parking around the back but we parked across Davidson in the grass lot on the other side. This would be a great venue for events if they can get the AC kinks worked out. Huge clean building with seating on one side. Can definitely see a reception of sorts being great here.

From the outside, I would have never expected such potential. The large building is planted very near the tracks off of Tryon & Dalton - just a few minutes from Uptown. Now, I'm sure the space varies per event, but the folks at Lupus decorated it beautifully. Tons of tables, a large bar to the right, dance floor near the stage and plenty of walking around room. Plus, there are two old train cars outside the side doors that are perfect for additional entertainment options - the event last night had a fortune teller and a bones reader in these cars. Per Extravaganza Depot's website, it looks like they are full service event planning and execution company. Capacity wise, the site reads 350 seated and 600 standing and there are adequate restroom facilities and probably 200 parking spaces (total guess here). There aren't too many well put together venues in Charlotte that host these types of numbers, but Extravaganza Depot does offer a great option!

Bathrooms were located in the back, but unfortunately there were only 2 stalls in the ladies restroom and for an event and amount of people that were there, it was not enough to have the line flow smoothly. Parking can be a bit tight out front, but there's usually a fair amount of room near the back.
