On the first day of December we attended an Art show at Dupp & Swat in Charlotte, and it's truly a hidden gem. The buildings are laid out like a former factory campus with lots of buildings. This fact might make it a bit tricky to navigate at first, but it's absolutely worth the effort to find your way through.
Once you're inside, you're greeted with a cool, laid-back vibe that perfectly embodies Charlotte's artistic spirit. The venue itself has a modern, hip feel--making it an ideal spot to relax, enjoy some art, and soak in the atmosphere.
The standout feature of my visit was the work of a talented young local artist. The pieces were fresh, thought-provoking, and added so much character to the space. It's always refreshing to see local talent being given a great platform, and you could see that a lot of care went into curating this experience.
As for the logistics, I was happy to find that parking was surprisingly easy, which can be a rarity in Charlotte. Whether you're there for an art show or just to enjoy the vibe, Dupp & Swap is a great place to discover something new and chill out. This is a simple, unpretentious venue. What a great spot to experience The Queen City's creative energy. read more
