Fairfield Inn and Suites Rock Hill SC…read more We often stay in Elkin NC just north of Charlotte; today we added miles to Fairfield Inn and Suites Rock Hill SC (Thursday.) From about 20 miles north of Charlotte to Rock Hill, we discovered an I-77 parking lot, with traffic moving from 0 - 17 mph. Traffic finally opened near Rock Hill. Fairfield Inn and Suites Rock was easy off/on in a very pleasant suburb. This is a newer and well maintained property with a professional staff; we dined at adjacent restaurant at Holiday Inn Express because of rave reviews. Breakfast is not "free," but is included with room fees - Breakfast rates a C minus - where is hot oatmeal. Higly recommend this property.

I had such an incredible time meeting Mrs. Danita and finally seeing Southern Charm Events. The…read morespace was gorgeous and had beautiful wood work. I loved the stone columns when you walk up to the venue. Walking in and towards the right you'll find the Men's and Women's restrooms with 3 stalls. Also in this side there's a Grooms room with a sink, mirror vanity, dining table that seats 4 and a door for him to walk to the ceremony site. Back down the hall towards the reception area is the larger bar area. You're welcome to bring in your own bartender as long as they have the proper licenses to serve. South Carolina License are required. Looking from the bar is the reception area that seats 250 comfortably. Southern Charms provides black chicory chairs and both round and rectangular tables. Which can be set up to your liking. Back down the hall to the left of the bar you'll find the brides room. This cute room has a large vanity for the bride and her girls to primp and finish the final touches of their look. It also has a restroom inside for the bride so she isn't seen by anyone before the ceremony. Also on this side is the door that leads the bridal party to the ceremony area. Outside the ceremony area is fully covered with a comfortable seating of 250. It also has a fireplace that can be utilized for cooler ceremony dates and the option to rent heaters as needed. There's also a larger grass area to host a wonderful cocktail hour and/or outdoor games if you choose. I highly recommend contacting Southern Charm Events for your next event!

I contacted Southern Charm Events to inquire about the possibility of having the ceremony there. Although they were unavailable on that day, the events coordinator went out of her way to send me a list of other venues in the area that I could contact & made other suggestions. She did not have to do that & I am so appreciative of all of her help! Even though I have not had an actual event here, I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to book an event in the area solely because of their amazing customer service!

There's several trails that go throughout Baxter Village. The Carolina Thread Trail also has a segment here which is what we did. We parked at the library and hiked to the Catawba River. It was about 5.5 miles round-trip and pretty flat/easy. It's a pretty nice trail that goes through several neighborhoods, but it's still pretty secluded. We went early in the morning which meant that it wasn't crowded either. It was a nice option for a different trail close to us.

First of all it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The building is lovely and well maintained. Very welcoming. We were seated up on the 5th floor and had a super server who was knowledgeable and friendly. My sister ordered Chicken and Waffles and I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and a side of the Parmesan Grits. They gave us these adorable cornbread medallions served warm with this amazing compound butter that was a little sweet and had this citrus zest which complimented the bread perfectly. My sister loved the crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside waffles and I inhaled my biscuits and gravy. We both thought the parmesan grits were the star of the day. Usually parmesan cheese can make things too salty, they balanced it perfectly. I can't say enough nice things about this wonderful spot. YOU MUST GO. The view, the food, the service is top notched.

Waitress just didn't follow up. My water sat unrefilled for a long time. Fried okra didn't taste like okra - but that suited a few of the party. But a few of us expected okra flavor only to be disappointed. Temp on the fried green tomatoes should have been warmer but overall it was very tasty. Our appetizer empty plates sat for a while - we even stacked them so it was clear they should be cleared. Ordered the salmon, which was good, but so did my mom. We ordered different temps and they couldn't tell which was which. Wife ordered a salad and for the price, there was barely anything there. Mac and cheese is still the star. Oysters were decent - I expected larger. The half chicken was a generous portion - nice crispy outside but a bit dry inside. I wouldn't order it (I almost did, but my one of our party did). One of our party ordered a stuffed leeks and it was so salty it was inedible. They did fix it and admitted it should have never left the kitchen. By the time the replacement came out it was after 6:05 (and they had to leave at 6:15). So they didn't get to eat their celebratory meal with the rest of us. Not the memory you want for a meal. Desserts were good. Tort was dense - honestly not sure if that's normal. Crème brûlée was very good. For a $400+ experience and our history with Pump House, I expected more.
