Parking is challenging because we had to park on the grass but the event did a great job parking the cars. The grounds are clean and full of life. When you pull up and par, you're greeted by two brown and tan mini horses. They also have a few ducks roaming around. The pond is nice and they even have podiums around the pond for guests to sit drinks on top of or you can pose for a selfie. They also have rocking chairs stationed around the pond. It was an evening event and mosquitoes come out at night but the venue did a great job of placing tii torches with citronella around the grounds. I must say that this is a very nice and clean venue. If you're looking for a nice place to host an event, this may be your place to check out.

She had had eaten the majority of it when she discovered it. My other co-worker had a sweet tasting marinara sauce on his salmon. My chicken was very over cooked and tough to chew. Aside from that, the appetizers were good and the bartenders prepared nice drinks. The desserts were tasty. The DJ did fine. It's hard to accommodate everyone and their preferences when you have a large group but food should be an exception. Bugs should never be in a salad.

This year though, they missed their mark. The Horderves were not served until 10min before we had to be seated for dinner. I unfortunately found a live bug in my salad. Mind you I was already mostly done with the salad when I sat the fork down for a min and I noticed something moving out the corner of my eye and when I looked, a small green and brown bug was crawling on my fork. Needless to say I was done at that point. A few of mt coworkers had very over cooked chicken and the Salmon came with a very sweet marinara sauce on top. Other than the food everyone was friendly.

Parking was not an issue as we were there early enough to park right outside the building. There's also a parking garage that's right beside it. I don't know the parking cost. Unfortunately, no one ever opened the doors for the event. A bunch of us had to call customer service to find out the event was cancelled without notifying us. I can't comment on the inside of the building other than what I saw from the doors. The grounds weren't kept well and it was off putting to see trash, people's dirty socks and a homeless persons sleeping arrangement right at the entrance door. I understand people are just doing the best they can but when people are paying for these tickets the area should be clean. Our group decided we won't return to this venue and will look for the show in another area.

The space itself is lovely in that effortless way where the design doesn't try too hard but still feels polished and intentional. The indoor area has plenty of room to breathe and the deck is a real standout, a spot that makes you want to linger a little longer and sip a drink. Parking, though, is its own little adventure. It's not impossible, but it's definitely something you need to plan for unless you like circling like a shark. Arriving early is the move and knowing the small tricks helps, like the architectural firm's spots that are blocked only until 5pm and fair game after that. Once you're parked and inside, the stress melts off pretty quickly, but the logistics are worth keeping in mind so you can actually enjoy what is otherwise a genuinely great venue. Everyone I encountered on site this past week was so courteous, hardworking and welcoming. If you are attending an event here, definitely bring a sweater or wear layers, as the rooms were quite cold. Wear comfy shoes too and expect a lot of walking and long bathroom and Starbucks lines, in between conference sessions. But overall, a nice experience here. The food court area offers some quick and affordable lunch options. There are also restaurant and hotel options within a short walk. Be cautious when crossing the public transit lines, as the trains move fast.

LOCATION I attended a conference that was held at the Charlotte Convention Center for a work week and was surprised at how close everything was to the convention. It was surrounded by hotels, restaurants, Whole Foods, a CVS, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It was easy to get around Uptown from the convention. INSIDE THE CONVENTION: It was easy to navigate within the convention, too, as the signs were clearly labeled. The only thing I thought was odd were the rooms in 206-212 (where you'd have to go down escalators and then come back up). I would have labeled it a different number sequence so as not to be confusing with the other set of rooms in the 200s. I loved that there was a bridge that connected the convention to our hotel (2nd floor of The Westin), as well as access from the NASCAR Hall of Fame directly in front of the Crown Ballroom! CUSTOMER SERVICE & STAFF: Each day during the conference, my coworker and I would walk from our hotel (The Westin, which was across the street) and we would be greeted by the friendliest door greeters / information desk. Also, we went around the Richardson Ballrooms, exhibit hall, smaller rooms, terrace (roof), Crown Ballroom, etc. it was carpeted so it was easy to walk on. The convention staff including the Food & Service team were really nice and were attentive; they made sure to keep the food area tidy and cleared away trash from the tables. The bartenders serving drinks were organized as well. DINING OPTIONS INSIDE THE CONVENTION: The convention had other dining options: Starbucks, Bojangles, Einstein Bagels, and another place to purchase food. Overall, I enjoyed the ease of getting around the convention center, the proximity to hotels and restaurants in Uptown Charlotte, the amenities they offered, and the attentive staff at Charlotte Convention Center.
