I'd describe this hotel as the Spirit airlines of Marriott hotels. It's cheap for several reasons. Check-in: The staff gave us an upgrade before we could ask for it. Although they took 15-20 minutes per customer for check-in, the staff were very courteous to everyone. Appliances: They didn't have microwaves in the rooms and the only ones in the hallway were down. A lady tried to get some instant food microwaved for a long time but it was down. I could literally sense her frustration as it was past midnight & all of us simply wanted to go to our rooms & sleep. Security: Their RFID cards were down (like completely) except to unlock the room. We weren't prewarned by the staff so my husband got locked out twice while coming back from the car. They didn't have a reception contact number(so weird), so if he had been staying alone, he'd have been stuck standing outside all night. Everyone here was very nice and took great care of me . The room itself was old and dated which was surprising . The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure too . Now for the bad , I stayed above the firepit area which I thought was going to be cool . Instead all I could smell was cigarettes and weed for most of my stay . It stunk up my whole room . So for the 2 days I stayed that was constant. Also the employees park their cars u front at the entrance blocking most of it so u can't get by . For their whole shift . And there is a huge parking lot but they choose to block most of the customers entrance. For the price I tolerated it and just note to self won't be coming back . read more

This was our 2nd stay at this location. We came back specifically because we recalled seeing that there was a pool however we should have checked out the condition of the pool (and reviews here) before making our choice. It was icy cold water that was dirty and had bugs in it. The hot tub was boarded up so I'm guessing they gave up on that aspect of the pool room. The bedding was more comfortable in the room we got this time around thankfully. I do wish they would choose a better known soap/shampoo provider because I get a reaction from using what they provide. Customer service was lacking a little more during this visit but nothing too horrible. I'm not too certain we will choose this location the next visit - we paid more than other nearby locations thinking it would make for a better stay but I did leave feeling a bit disappointed & felt like a lower cost place would have likely resulted in about the same quality & experience. read more

This hotel stunk like weed in the room. The room felt dirty, the staff was very nice. It just felt dirty so that I wouldn't stay there again, but the bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom floor grout was dirty and the light next to bed was rusted. Avoid this one. read more

Bottom line: Do not stay here. You will be extremely grossed out. Walking in: You are hit by a weird smell - combo of just dampness, old dirt, and cigarette smoke. Lobby isn't horrible... just kind of dirty and smelly but manageable. The pantry was 90% empty both days I stayed here. As soon as you step foot in the elevator, though, it goes downhill immediately. It's extremely dirty. Folks working here: Everyone is so nice!!! All the ladies that I came in contact with were super pleasant and hospitable. They deserve a cleaner work place. First room: I checked in and opened the door to my room. THERE WERE LIVE GNATS. Like swarms of gnats in various corners of the room. The floor had a dead small cockroach. The room was disgustingly dirty. Second room: This room was equally dirty, but there weren't flies roaches or gnats so I stayed here for 2 nights. Overall: If I had a rental car, I would have absolutely slept in the car instead. Unfortunately I used Uber so that wasn't an option. This hotel is not usable. Just burn it down. You will feel how damp and dirty the carpet is in your room through your socks!!! It's all so bad, so dirty, so dingy. When they show motels in movies where people are doing bad things, and those motels look extremely horrible in an exaggerated way ... that's what this place looks like. read more

Take care of your customers. I filed a case with this hotel and its parent, Mariott following the unconscionable treatment of my daughter and have had no response or resolution now in 3 months. In summary, a 21 year old girl was told to go sleep in her car in Charlotte when the desk clerk refused to let her check-in. She had lost her wallet somewhere along the long drive from Illinois to North Carolina got to hotel at 3am and tried to check in. We had a confirmed reservation for her with a credit card on file and diamond status with Marriott's loyalty program but the desk clerk refused to check her in without a physical credit card she could run for incidental. The clerk refused cash and cited company policy. We escalated in the middle of the night with hotel management and were still denied. The Courtyard told her to go find someplace else. Now at 3:30 am. Marriott offered a token 10,000 points later as an apology. As that is not enough points to even stay 1 night in any Marriott hotel in the area, we were simply further insulted. Thankfully the 21 year old was only scared and tired after the long night and nothing worse happened while sleeping in her car in their parking lot. I asked for her to be awarded a substantial number of points as an apology and was told by Marriott to take it up with the Courtyard. Upon checking in, we had to immediately switch rooms because the room smelled of mold. After getting settled in, my son found a bug on the flat sheet when he pulled back the cover to get in the bed. When booking, breakfast was supposed to be included. Before ordering breakfast, the desk associate checked and informed the café hostess that breakfast was included. I was emailed a final bill, which included $40 for breakfast. I contacted management twice and they only agreed to reimburse me for $20. read more

On October 4, 2024 I stayed in the Courtyard Marriott and here's what happened. 1- It took about the front desk clerk about 15 minutes to get me checked in due to the like of people waiting. 2 - After dining out I realized there were NO cups in the room, had to go to front desk and get. 3 - some guest brought their dog along and he decided to briefly start barking during the night !! 4 - Then in the morning when in the shower there was NO SOAP in the pump dispenser, so shampoo was used instead. I give this hotel a C ... Oh and DO NOT USE Expedia as a booking agent. read more

Two stars because the lobby is very nice. Our front desk person was very kind and understanding. Those are the best things about this hotel. We checked in and grabbed our keys then went straight to the meeting we had due to timing. We never went to the room. When we returned a few hours later, our room was open. There was a carpet scrubber in the room and the toilet was completely clogged with fecal matter. I would like to know how a hotel allows this room to be available for check in. We returned to the front desk - as stated above, the front desk person was very kind and understanding. She immediately changed our room. Second room - smells damp but it is clean (kinda). There's a smell of dampness. The comforter looks like someone used it to remove their makeup. We are checking out in the morning. The picture of the bedding doesn't even come close to showing the stained bedding. I didn't not take a picture of the biohazard in the first room. read more

The worst hotel experience I have ever experienced and I have been to at least a hundred hotels. We were in NC for a soccer event in the area. Since we were coming from out of state (NY) we drove overnight to our destination. We ended up arriving to the hotel at 1:30pm. We were all exhausted after a 12 hour drive and we decided to go in and ask if we could potentially get our room a little bit earlier then the 3pm check in time. We were met with a hard no and the manager told us that we could not go in because all the rooms were dirty. We asked if there were any showers we would even pay an additional fee for this and again a hard no. We were told NOTHING else. At this point, I suppose it is understandable as we arrived an hour and a half before our supposed check in time. We ended up showering in some random gym later. Flash forward to after the game , we called ahead of time at around 11:30 pm to ask if our check out time for the day after could be extended as we had not gone to our hotel the whole day and we wanted to rest a little more and get our moneys worth ( as we had already PAID). As I am trying to explain my situation , the person on the phone looks up our name and says we do not have rooms and are not on the list. Confused, I restate the fact that we have already PAID our rooms so I am perplexed to what this means. Apparently the hotel was overbooked and the room that was supposed to be given to our families was given to someone else even though again I reiterate we had paid for our rooms. The person on the phone then tells us that someone in the front desk should have written our name down when we first came at 1:30 so that we would be on the list, but how are we responsible for a system we were not even aware of????? Again the person who spoke to us in the afternoon was the manager so I was even more confused and upset. This entire ordeal was the fault of the attendants. We were left stranded at midnight in a city we have no knowledge about and we were only able to find accommodations at 4 AM. We were traveling with small children as well. I do not reccomend this hotel to anyone as they would be willing to let your room go to anyone even if you fully paid for your room beforehand. There is absolutely no sense of security and it is an awful feeling knowing you paid for something with no thought of it being taken away and then being left defenseless randomly due to errors of the hotel. I hope all the workers who we spoke to gain more sense of empathy as you all clearly need it, and I sincerely hope your business shuts down! Fix your system before you try to blame your paying customers and leave them stranded! read more

Upon entering the hotel, very similar to other hotels, it smells lightly of bleach due to the indoor pool. The lobby is decent enough though you can tell the furniture has been here for quite some time because the leather-like couches have been peeled excessively. The room itself was decent until I came across a giant dead roach by the A/C unit. The bed sheets looked clean though I did find strands of hair beneath the covers. The covers were poorly tucked in, which isn't an issue for me but just makes me wonder if they were rushed. The bathroom appeared clean though the tub looks a little stained. The mirrors are clean. There are some drink rings left on the desk. There was an odd smell upon entering the room. Unpleasant and stale, though it may have just been a lack of circulation to the room. Can't really smell it anymore after being in the room for a short time. My biggest complaint about this particular hotel in this room would be the A/C unit. It is extremely dated and it keeps turning off even though it is not the temperature it is set to in the room. Like every 5 minutes the unit cuts off. This is a big thing for me, because I overheat extremely easily. And it is the middle of July. This hotel is charging $119 a night. Overall I'd give the hotel 2.9 stars Side note: I brought my PC tower for work, and I assumed I would have no issue connecting it to the TV in the room. However, the hotel has connected some weird type of box to the back of the TV and it is affecting how the picture looks when I connect my computer. It is cutting off the border of the screen. I attempted to fix the issue in my PC's settings but turned out it was the TV. And because of the box they attached to it, I couldn't get to the settings on the tv. Again not a big deal. But very annoying. ---- So that was my original review, but after spending one night here I have some additional issues. The sheets are much dirtier than I first saw, they were not washed properly. And this room was cleaned not well at all. In addition to the dead bug, there's also trash on the floor between the bed and the nightstand. And there is mold on the shower curtain. The sink fills up more than half way and will not drain until you turn off the water. The mini fridge in the room is very cheap, barely works and does not have a freezer compartment. Also, the shower would not cool off even though I had it turned to cold. I was nearly burnt by the scalding hot water. I had to jump out of the shower because there was no space to stand in the tub that was not getting hit by water because there were two shower heads for some odd reason. And despite turning the temperature down it did nothing. Lastly, the bistro in the lobby, their food is incredibly expensive ($12 for a burger, $9 for a salad) and not appetizing at all. Even their Caesar salad was disgusting. Stars have been lowered to 1 star. read more

I recently blocked several rooms for a weekend event. At check-in, one person was sent to an occupied room, then a dirty room. Another person had a musty/moldy smelling room, and another had water leaking, and another had a room next to someone smoking pot, and the smell was very strong. There was no breakfast or food available at the grill. There was supposed to be some wine available, but there was none. Only about 6 total soft drinks. The ladies' restroom was without soap and paper towels the entire weekend. I was disappointed that had booked a hotel for a group and the problems were numerous. At $140 a night we arrived to no one at the front desk, was told when someone arrived , 20 mins later, " Place is short staffed cuz they don't pay $##T". My room smells like a swamp, the pool looks like one, Green cloudy water, they shoved a urinal cake in the AC in an attempt to Mask the smell. Mold behind peeling wallpaper. We got in late so we stayed but absolutely never again at at Marriot. We will stick with the Hilton brands. Update: no staff to provide the breakfast we paid extra for in the room rate. Was told by front desk staff that management can be called but does not answer the phone and doesn't have voice mail set up. I called and that was my experience. The room had a weird, musty smell. There were water stains lining the ceiling. There was a missing smoke detector. The shower was very nasty. Parts of the ceiling were peeling off. The toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall very easily. They were teenagers running back-and-forth between the surrounding hotels, running up and down the halls, screaming and yelling, and knocking on all the doors and no one stopped them. The staff was very friendly though when we checked in however when the shift changed and we asked for an extra blanket, we were met with eye rolls and huffs and puffs. Room was poorly prepared no tissues and the front desk said they couldn't help. Only one coffee pod and it was decaf. The front desk said to check with the cleaning ladies in the morning. Cleaning crew didn't have tissues or coffee on their carts. Room wasn't visibly dirty but there was a bottle cap on the floor so if they had vacuumed and check they would've seen it. Horrible place manger Jordan Will harass you the whole time you are there and I paid a $250 deposit and she came to my room telling me she needed to see the room before extending my stay I had a service dog and she gave me 10 mins after waking me up at 8am to get up and let her inspect my room what was the deposit for and then she told me she wouldn't extend my stay but clearly nothing was wrong because I got my deposit back read more

There was a roach or something else in my room so no I don't recommend. Check in and check out was easy. I didn't consume any food here so I can't comment. There were ants left near the pool area also. The ice machine on the second floor was broken and there was no ice machine on the first floor where I stayed. Worst hotel stay ever! Couldn't find our reservation and then they did but said they didn't get paid from the third party. Then called us at 2:30 in the morning to wake us up and say they still haven't been paid.. Never had an issue with the third party and used them for reservations that were 10x the cost of that one night. Why check us in only to wake us up at 2:30am and give us terrible customer service to where we leave and then charge us full price for a night's stay? Would give negative stars if I could. read more

I have been staying there since the first of March every week for work, and every week there are always something with my room to no air conditioning, no towels, no soap,to the tvs does not work. All of the customer service people are superior in helping me. They were just one lady that did nothing for me. If the company was not paying for me, I would not stay there. This is the first time ever I'm writing google review. Only because this hotel was absolutely awful and I wanted to share this experience with fellow travelers. I have been Marriott titanium member. I have stayed at fair number of hotels worldwide and many many Marriott properties. This is absolutely the worst experience I have had. Here's just a list of the issues we encountered. 1) when we were checking in around 8pm, there was only 1 staff at the front desk, and he spent 30 mins chatting with the guests in front of us knowing there was a line of customers waiting to get checked in. 2) The first room he assigned us had bad smell, the bed covers had black stains and the chair back had questionable sticky gunk. 3) The staff never told us that we needed to request house keeping in advance. When we found out the second night and called the front desk, they still didn't make note of our request for the following day. 5) We ran out of body wash and it took them 30 mins to find any. 6) "Fresh" bath towels had dirty marks and hair. 7) There is no trash bin in the bathroom (first time I've experienced this in any hotel in my 10+ years of traveling); 8) Hotel hallways were dirty and ceilings were leaking everywhere. It's a shame for them to carry the Marriott name and trick people to think it's the Marriott level experience you'd get. read more

They didn't have conditioner in the room so I called down to get some and she said I would have to get dressed and come down to get it myself. While the hotel is clean & the staff is friendly, compared to other Marriott hotels this one is very dated. For starters the rooms don't have USB outlets. The televisions are very small & old. The beds are very firm as are the pillows. The gym doesn't have a universal machine & the cardio equipment is very old. The pool also appeared to be green. I saw people in it so not sure if maybe it is suppose to look that way. I am a bonvoy member that travels weekly so I have a lot to compare too & sadly this hotel is subpar when it comes to creature comforts. That being said the staff is very friendly & the bistro is great! The long & short is that in a pinch this hotel will due but there are better options in the area. read more

BED BUGS, MOLD, AND BLOOD We checked in and the desk lady was nice! She was new but she was fine. She gave us our keys and began checking in another guest. When i entered my room it smelled like cat pee and had no sofa bed (which i selected a king with sofa bed online). i walk down the hall to the lady at the desk and she was very kind and apologetic and gave us a double queen with a sofa bed for no up charge. We were traveling and only needed the bed and shower. The staff was friendly, great bed, everything worked and was clean. The hotel is a little beat up and the carpets need to be pulled and tossed, not just cleaned. Kinda surprised that "by Marriott" doesn't have a higher standard but... Room was clean, everything worked and staff was friendly. Safe neighborhood too as far as we could tell. And, Cracker Barrel right across the street. Our stay was terrible. We didn't have enough towels in the room when we checked in. We discovered hair in our bed. The breakfast options were not available our first morning and then the next morning they were inadequate and small and burnt. My wife and I will not be returning to this hotel and any other Courtyards for that matter. This hotel is not keeping the Marriott standards. They do not deserve to fly the Courtyard flag. This franchisee needs to be evaluated randomly so they can experience what my wife and I went through staying there. I strongly urge Sam and Executive Housekeeper to change their cleanliness policies and incorporate hair nets. Also the breakfast attendant needs to have on a hair net as well. She did not have on one at all during our stay. That's a health code violation as well. read more

Very disappointed in my stay. Pro is that the Hotel is convenient off the interstate. Cons on my visit were that my TV would not work. I called the front desk twice asking for some one to come repair it but no one ever showed. Also closet door was broke and off its track. The outlet by the bed did not work and there were two empty potato chip bags in the room I guess from previous guest. I stay in hotels 3 to 5 nights per week with my job. Usually Hiltons, but I thought I would start giving Marriott's a try. If this Is an accurate example of their properties then I will stay with Hilton. I definitely wont return here. read more

I expect much higher quality when staying at a Marriott. This is motel 6 quality. Mold on pool tiles, dirty water, broken hot tub with brown water not even marked as out of order or covered. Stains on white comforters. No AC in main areas of building. Dirty floors in room. Trash in trash can in room when I checked in. Hotel staff was very friendly. WouldNot recommend however, the building itself is falling apart and filthy. there is mold, it's musty, the ceiling was bowing. There was a leak in the lobby with no wet floor sign in sight. The leak was from a toilet above the lobby. There ha been SIGNIFICANT water damage through out the rooms. MOLD in showers and on curtains. We were placed in one room and had to change because of so many issues. Missing smoke detectors, curtains torn off the ceiling and so much more. Wow, they've really updated this courtyard. It's excellent for business travel! The rooms are standard. Clean, nicely decorated but crappy towels. There's a gym and a pool for exercise. The gym equipment is fairly new so I appreciate that. The lobby area: The Bistro serves food pre made food considering it's hotel food. They serve STARBUCKS coffee! Love! There is ample dining seating with a few booths w/ your own tv! The bar is small and seats about 4 or 5 people but carries top shelf liquor! The lounge area is awesome! The seating area is phenomenal! There two sectionals, tables and chairs. My colleague and I have spent a good chuck of time having out there as the seating is comfortable and inviting which conducive to conversations and work. One more thing to mention is that there's a Texas Roadhouse BBQ place across the street. A good place for some ribs! read more

My husband travels a lot for business and I go with about half of the time. We've always stay at Marriott. This hotel is the worst Marriott experience we've ever had. You couldn't pay me to stay at this hotel again!!!! The staff is unprofessional and rude. The room had a spa/big tub in the common area which had wall paper peeling off the wall and under that was mold. There were mild stains on the ceiling too, as if it was painted over. That's just unhealthy. We also requested extra towels one day and maid service didn't even knock - they just walked right in. Petty, but it's matter of respect and privacy. We completed the email we got from Marriott to review our stay. The next day we got a FORM email from the General Manager saying (in so many words), "sorry your stay was not great, but too bad."
