We arrived to find the cache behind the construction tarp. It looks like the new bar will be beautiful when completed. We didn't want to enter the quiet construction zone without permission. The front desk clerk summoned the General Manager. Neither had heard of geocaching before. The GM led us into the construction area and allowed us to write out names on the log. I'm sure the GM had many other things to do, but he took time to assist 4 geocachers from Michigan with their adventure. Thanks for the assistance. Since 2011 this geocache has brought in over 525 visitors to this establishment. Had the place been open we would have probably had a drink to toast the find. From about 20 miles north of Charlotte to Rock Hill, we discovered an I-77 parking lot, with traffic moving from 0 - 17 mph. Traffic finally opened near Rock Hill. Fairfield Inn and Suites Rock was easy off/on in a very pleasant suburb. This is a newer and well maintained property with a professional staff; we dined at adjacent restaurant at Holiday Inn Express because of rave reviews. Breakfast is not "free," but is included with room fees - Breakfast rates a C minus - where is hot oatmeal. Higly recommend this property.

I loved the stone columns when you walk up to the venue. Walking in and towards the right you'll find the Men's and Women's restrooms with 3 stalls. Also in this side there's a Grooms room with a sink, mirror vanity, dining table that seats 4 and a door for him to walk to the ceremony site. Back down the hall towards the reception area is the larger bar area. You're welcome to bring in your own bartender as long as they have the proper licenses to serve. South Carolina License are required. Looking from the bar is the reception area that seats 250 comfortably. Southern Charms provides black chicory chairs and both round and rectangular tables. Which can be set up to your liking. Back down the hall to the left of the bar you'll find the brides room. This cute room has a large vanity for the bride and her girls to primp and finish the final touches of their look. It also has a restroom inside for the bride so she isn't seen by anyone before the ceremony. Also on this side is the door that leads the bridal party to the ceremony area. Outside the ceremony area is fully covered with a comfortable seating of 250. It also has a fireplace that can be utilized for cooler ceremony dates and the option to rent heaters as needed. There's also a larger grass area to host a wonderful cocktail hour and/or outdoor games if you choose. I highly recommend contacting Southern Charm Events for your next event!

It was about 5.5 miles round-trip and pretty flat/easy. It's a pretty nice trail that goes through several neighborhoods, but it's still pretty secluded. We went early in the morning which meant that it wasn't crowded either. It was a nice option for a different trail close to us.

They had an event this weekend and I am glad that we went in the afternoon. My friend got turned away in the morning only an hour after they opened. She said that staff very rudely told her that she should have gotten there earlier. Her children were heartbroken. They did have some people, mainly teenagers with volunteer name tags who were very nice. My little adored the older gentleman who played with him. They had the upstairs set up really cute with a Winnie-the-Pooh exhibit. But unfortunately, they said that it would only be there for that day. They had friendly teens in that space playing with the kids. Admission is not worth it, but their membership is a good value because it includes other museums.
