We arrived to find the cache behind the construction tarp. It looks like the new bar will be beautiful when completed. We didn't want to enter the quiet construction zone without permission. The front desk clerk summoned the General Manager. Neither had heard of geocaching before. The GM led us into the construction area and allowed us to write out names on the log. I'm sure the GM had many other things to do, but he took time to assist 4 geocachers from Michigan with their adventure. Thanks for the assistance. Since 2011 this geocache has brought in over 525 visitors to this establishment. Had the place been open we would have probably had a drink to toast the find. From about 20 miles north of Charlotte to Rock Hill, we discovered an I-77 parking lot, with traffic moving from 0 - 17 mph. Traffic finally opened near Rock Hill. Fairfield Inn and Suites Rock was easy off/on in a very pleasant suburb. This is a newer and well maintained property with a professional staff; we dined at adjacent restaurant at Holiday Inn Express because of rave reviews. Breakfast is not "free," but is included with room fees - Breakfast rates a C minus - where is hot oatmeal. Higly recommend this property.

I loved the stone columns when you walk up to the venue. Walking in and towards the right you'll find the Men's and Women's restrooms with 3 stalls. Also in this side there's a Grooms room with a sink, mirror vanity, dining table that seats 4 and a door for him to walk to the ceremony site. Back down the hall towards the reception area is the larger bar area. You're welcome to bring in your own bartender as long as they have the proper licenses to serve. South Carolina License are required. Looking from the bar is the reception area that seats 250 comfortably. Southern Charms provides black chicory chairs and both round and rectangular tables. Which can be set up to your liking. Back down the hall to the left of the bar you'll find the brides room. This cute room has a large vanity for the bride and her girls to primp and finish the final touches of their look. It also has a restroom inside for the bride so she isn't seen by anyone before the ceremony. Also on this side is the door that leads the bridal party to the ceremony area. Outside the ceremony area is fully covered with a comfortable seating of 250. It also has a fireplace that can be utilized for cooler ceremony dates and the option to rent heaters as needed. There's also a larger grass area to host a wonderful cocktail hour and/or outdoor games if you choose. I highly recommend contacting Southern Charm Events for your next event!

It was about 5.5 miles round-trip and pretty flat/easy. It's a pretty nice trail that goes through several neighborhoods, but it's still pretty secluded. We went early in the morning which meant that it wasn't crowded either. It was a nice option for a different trail close to us.

We rolled in to Rock Hill hauling a giant horse trailer, so I didn't book ahead on-line, because I needed to find a hotel with a parking lot that could accommodate our unusual haul! We received our welcome water and snack - I don't know whose idea that was at Hilton, but can I tell you that I love it? Hydration is key on roadtrips and I don't stop for anything unless absolutely necessary, so that bottle of water upon check in is a welcome reminder to hydrate! It's empty before I even get to the room. Speaking of rooms - I LOVE Tru when I'm on business. The sleek, minimalist designs are just what I need. The fact that the hotel is DOG FRIENDLY makes me SO happy. They allow dogs of all sizes and the rooms (at least ours) are absolutely dog friendly - no carpet! So, if Fido DOES have an accident, it's easily cleaned. That being said, there's no reason your pup should have an accident because there are plenty of dog potty stations complete with baggies and disposal. There's a wide array of snacks and drinks available for purchase and the continental breakfast blew my mind. Gone are the days of stale muffins and mushy fruit! They had egg bites that rivaled Starbucks, Lavazza coffee, biscuits, sausage, toast, cereal, hot tea, and the most amazing little pancake machine that cranks out two pancakes in two minutes. It's so great! One thing I must note is that even though the hotel is dog friendly - there is NO odor. I mean, NONE. This hotel didn't even have the general "hotel smell." It just smelled fresh and clean and it WAS. I spilled some water on the floor and when I wiped it up, the white towel was still just as white as when I put it down there. Clean, clean, clean! No hair in the showers or sinks, not a towel out of place. I hope management treats the cleaning crew like queens and kings, because this hotel is SPARKLING clean. Lastly, I adore that they use Not Radio soaps, lotions, and shampoos. Truly, this hotel has thought of everything you could possibly need and they've made it convenient as well.
