amazing campground but ever since they changed it to yogi bear jellystone campground it's for just young kids. not teens and hardly adults. all the activities and everything are for small kids and it makes it very boring for teens. there are not activities for teens and it's a family campground... family... but it's just for little kids. teens are not interested in yogi bear.also the playground needs to be more shaded because they playground and bounce pad are way to hot to use during the day. read more

Beaverbrook campground is in the middle of nowhere. The location was about an hour away from Portland. The lake looked beautiful but because the beach was so small- 100-200ft of frontage, maybe- we stayed at the pool. We were unable to launch our 19ft boat because the launch is 1.5ft deep until you get far out. We still paid the $6 launch fee, even though our boat never left our site. We had 3 sites for 4 families... 304, 306, 308. The first was large enough for 2 big tents, 2 cars, picnic tables, fire, 8 chairs. The 2nd was big enough for a truck, a stationary boat and 1 tent. The 3rd barely held 1 tent, a 3'x 3' small table, truck and fire. If space is a concern for your family, I suggest you check out the map before choosing a site!!! The comfort stations were great. Everything was close proximity for our little kids to walk to- playground, brook, comfort station, pool and store. This campground is best for families with kids 5-12 who would enjoy riding their bikes down the dirt roads to the playground without fear of getting lost. The pool is by far the best part of Beaverbrook. Waterslide is only for kids under 18 who are 48"tall. read more

Androscoggin Lake is quite pretty. Beaver Brook Campground is an OK campground. Nothing spectacular. We had a large RV (30ft) and felt like we were on top of our neighbors. Not alot of room b/w sites. Each site has a small fire ring and picnic table. They have a small play area for little kids (we have teenagers), the "marina" looks a bit run down and sparse. They have a fairly decent pool. They have organized activities and games (pictionary, scattegories, horseshoes, etc.) This campground is best suited for families with little kids. read more

I have been coming here ever since I can remember. My grandparents used to have a seasonal site and my cousins and I would have a blast. We would ride our bikes all day, go frogging, swim in the lake and play on the playground. They still have the original merry go round. It brings back a smile to my face whenever I see it. They have great family activities including candy bar bingo. What makes me sad is that you no longer see kids riding bikes or frogging. They do not even swim in the lake. They are at the pool and when not swimming they are little zombies sitting by the pool playing on ipads. What have we become when you can not come to camp and relax? Case in point here I am on my smart phone Yelping, HAHAHA! Off to go frogging and bring back some warm fuzzies. read more

I've been to this campground with my kids, and recently with my grandkids. It is (or was) a great place for kids. But... The playground hasn't been upgraded in a while. A rusted out rotting golf cart is part of the equipment. The largest piece of equipment has breaking plastic on the slides. The water park is great but the waterslides had gaps at the connections. If I were coming with older kids or just my husband and I, I would give it five stars all day long. But I didn't feel my grandkids were safe on the playground. read more

Worst staff! Honest to goodness most miserable people to interact with. I was personally attacked and asked to move for eating a sandwich. The pool was filthy (gross film) full of bugs...and most commonly shut down for human Feces at the bottom of the pool. The lake was Unswimmable due to the 3 feet of algae and dead bugs floating along shore. It's to bad, in years past my family Had seasoned there and it has gotten progressively "trashy", "my mother in law would joke it was a soap Oprah" my family and friends will not be returning. Not worth the money, or the misery of what should be simple joys. The proof is in the pudding so many of my fellow seasonal campers refuse to go back for the same poor treatment. STAY AWAY! We have been campers for the last 8 years and the Beaver Brook Campground is by far the worst campground we have ever been to. The fact that the campground is in the middle of nowhere is a minor detail. The major flaws were the dirt road to get there, the registration trailer, the "need maintenance and paint" pool (which they call "water park"), the extremely small sites, and last but not least, the unfriendliness of one of the young lady who registered us. The campground over charges for services and provides a campground that is not maintained well at all. In fact we have seen the same trash on the side of the road week after week and no one picking it up. When the staff gets your fees they no longer care about you as a camper. they say they offer WIFI and the service is worthless. You pay the daily fee and have literally 2 minutes intervals on the net before being bounced. There is little or no cell coverage in grounds. There is little or no tv reception. We go to campgrounds that we pay less money and get cable, electric and internet along with clean grounds. Dogs run loose here off the leash. owners dont care. They had trees fall on campers that they had been told over and over to remove as they were dead. They dont care and wont till someone gets hurt bad. Its really too bad they have a good place if they would run it right and keep it clean. read more

The campground's setting is quite lovely. We had a nice wooded lot beside a brook. Unfortunately, there were several issues that would make us not return here. First of all, the roads were full of potholes, which created dangerous conditions for the camper. Second, some of the staff walked around smoking while they were working. Employees should be smoking during their breaks in my opinion, especially when people are trying to spend time with nature.The most egregious issue was the condition of the bathrooms. This is a large campground, and the bathrooms were so subpar that I would never return here. They were not cleaned regularly and sufficiently, one of the 2 showers was out of order for our entire stay, and we were expected to pay just to use the shower. The shower itself was very unappealing. The water flow was poor, the trash in the shower stall was not emptied at all that I could tell, and the drain had a bunch of hair lying on top of it each time I showered... gross. Overall, it was just an abysmal bathroom for a place with so many campers who did not have big, expensive rigs with bathrooms inside them. I did speak with the management about it, and they were polite, although I didn't get the impression that they were planning to do anything about it. When I heard several other women complaining about the conditions in the bathroom, I mentioned that I spoke with management, and another woman told me that she had also complained. Given the number of reviews that have not been positive, I wish they would make some definitive changes because the campground is located on such a lovely lake! read more

This is by far the WORST campground my husband and I have ever been to! We usually go camping about 3-5 times per year. Our campsite was ridiculously small and our tent barely fit on the site. Our campfire pit was literally in the road. We stayed on site 305. This was the most expensive campground we've ever been to and it was extremely gross and not taken care of by the staff. Only on 1 day that we were at the campground were there paper towels in the bathroom. The ONE shower which is in a bathroom stall was awful. You can literally hear the person next to you going to the bathroom while you are taking a shower. Which is not free by the way. EVERYTHING costs money at this campground. The horseshoes, volleyball, disc golf. Even if you bring your own Frisbee discs you still have to pay to play. The pool was overly crowded every day. And the beach has super sharp clams in the sand and everyone who visited us for the day cut their feet. The visitor fees are outrageous-practically the cost to stay. There is absolutely NO PRIVACY on your campsite and the sites are super close to each other. If you'd like to go to a loud, rowdy, party campground then this is your campground. Our neighbors drank and blasted their music until past 1 A.M. and they all loudly announced where they were going to pee on their campsite. With the insane amount of money this campground makes they could fix it up a bit more then they do and have a better spot to shower. We are NEVER going to this campground again. read more

Before I get started let me first say that Beaver Brook has a ton of amenities; boat rentals, arcade, showers, store, pool, Water Park, mini golf and the list goes on so in fairness this campground has a lot to offer. - Customer service; friendly but oblivious, it was as though your questions were insignificant and didn't necessarily warrant an answer, this leads me to my next point. - Facilities; poorly maintained. Showers require "fiddling" around with, the comfort stations are poorly cleaned and maintained, the mini golf hasn't been washed or painted in years, the roads were washed (or washing out; my car drug several times), the pump station dump station closed due to malfunction, the "camp fire wood" for $4.00/bundle (4-5 pieces) could have been wrung out and they obviously don't control the insects; I've seen fewer mosquitoes in Baxter state park. - Size; as I mentioned this is a large park and they certainly pack them in so although there is a ton of stuff to do you won't be doing it alone, you may not even find a place in the pool to stand without feeling like a sardine. This is far from a quiet or relaxing place. - Cost; the price of a stay at Beaver Brook is what you might expect to find at a facility of this size with comparable amenities but value is another story. I give this place a C-in value; what's the point of having amenities if they are not well maintained or you can't enjoy them. Additionally they only amenity that you can use without additional expense is the pool so where is the value in that? In conclusion, the place has a lot to offer but wasn't a very good value and the poorly maintained facilities detracted from the overall experience. If they were to address some of these issues I would be a happy camper and more than likely to pay a little more. read more

had to break-up , and pack up campsite after being told pet fence we have put up after a few years is no longer allowed. i will not tie my puppies up to a rope to have them get hurt when tangled. after ten plus years of loyal campers doing eight plus weeks of camping, this is how we were treated . will never go back . also neighbor in next site also has complained to them over our treatment from campground owner. read more

We stayed at Beaver Brook end of June. Our site was stumpy, my husband said the men's room was nasty (but I say the women's were very clean). What I did not like was the pool lady. She is very rude and disrespectful to people. I myself, a cancer survivor went into the wading area with my 3 year old granddaughter, just wading. Next thing I know I am being told that I had to leave the pool because I was not wearing specific swimwear (I did have a bathing suit on under the t-shirt). Apparently ONLY nylon material allowed. However, looking about, I see different material other than Nylon on children and adults in the pool. I was pissed to say the least. Though I wear sunscreen, I still prefer a t-shirt on my shoulders as they tend to burn as I am very light skinned. Then next day I go back to the pool with all 3 grandkids and the pool Nag was back, but this time I hear her speaking to parents and telling them how rude their children are. Really. You feel kids are rude.. well it works both ways. If you want people to be nice to you, you need to be nice back. Posted signs clearly state NO life guard on duty, swim at your own risks, but you couldn't even breath without this chick snapping at someone for something. Really ruins the pool time. That was my first and probably last time I will every go to this campground again. What killed me as well was she was telling children if over 14 they could go with pool without adult but children under 13 would need have adult over the age of 21 accompany them to the pool! So I guess those young mothers over 18 but under 21 would not be able to take their child to the pool unless they were accompanied by someone over 21... LOL. This place is a joke. read more

Wish I would have read reviews on all the sites before we booked, plus the ones on their Facebook page. What a joke the pool is. I have to agree with the "pool Nazi" description. So, my 18 year old daughter who was watching my 11 year old were kicked out because she wasn't over 21. The woman actually came over to ask how old she was. Wait...what?!?! Found out you have to be 21 years old to watch anyone under 14 in the pool. Ummm..that's a first. What about the young 20 year old mom with a young child? You are an adult and can vote at 18, but not watch someone in the pool! Come on....rules should have a little common sense as well. Rocky campsites were an understatement. They definitely need to put some effort into flattening out and removing rocks from their sites. We have a tent and it was a struggle to get it up on even ground. We won't be going back. The only person who was nice and welcoming was the lady serving ice cream at the store. read more
