We where promised a site until mid October come to find out they over booked the site we where on and moved us to the bowels of the campground right beside a very busy bridge over pass it was so loud my dog would shake. We decided to pull out due to many things at the end of the day they tried to price gouge us at the end with about 35 days left. When I told him I was leaving his comment was oh is the price to high and then he went on to say in front of his mother in law that I look like I have money. We enjoyed the restaurant that was there but they also bailed out. I would not recommend this campground to anyone we miss the old owners.

And when I got off, I went to retrieve my keys to leave, and I was treated as if I was a moron when I tried to explain that I just had given her a fob, not a full set of keys. She treated me like I was a two year-old idiot and was very sassy with me and again with her long snarl of a face. Even when you first meet her it's like visiting an old friend. My husband and I came last year in October and stayed here for an anniversary trip. We rented the…read moreBalsam Fir cabin which is located right next to First Connecticut Lake (see picture) and were not disappointed. The view was amazing. The cabin was very clean with a spacious kitchen and living room with cable TV. There were two bedrooms, one with queen size mattress and the other with two full size beds. There was also an extra full bed in the living room. The bathroom was small but functional. The cabins come with pots, pans, mugs, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee machine, microwave and fridge . Just be sure to bring your own salt, pepper, and other condiments. On Saturday we spent the whole day outside riding ATVS and water skiing. Then grabbed dinner at the Rainbow Grill on Beach Rd. It was the best food we have had in a long time. We will definitely be back Ramblewood Cabins next year and hopefully spend more than just a few days.

However it's been sold out to a corporation and as it's typical they are only after the $$$. You can not pre book for the following year, and the have a season camp manager, who although very nice has no answers to anything other than call the 1-800 number. We met many ppl over the week we were here and most of them repeat travelers who agree this may be their last year due mainly to the attitude and corporate hospitality, aka none. It's a shame, this was a nice family feel and accommodating camp ground. Our family have been coming here for three generations. The campground itself is pretty much unchangeable, the amenities could be upgraded and spruced up, but we come for the feel of the grounds. The cold corporate feel it's already having is making us think twice sadly.
