She clearly was not experienced in blowing out curly hair (which i find odd for a place which labels itself a blow dry bar). What my regular stylist could do in twenty minutes, she couldn't even do in an hour. When the owner saw I was dissatisfied she came over, told me my hair looked great and that the stylist is very experienced and highly recommended. Then as she investigated further, she could no longer deny that my hair was improperly blown out. Rather than wash and redo my hair, she simply took a flat iron to my head. She also offered for me to come in another day to have another stylist do my hair. I was still not satisfied with the way my hair looked. I wanted her to make it look like it does when I get my hair blown out at ANY other salon (i have been to many on long island). She was then insulted that i didn't like her or her stylists work. She yelled at me and told me I could get out. She didn't want my business. She basically threw me out of her salon. I was shocked! I have never been treated like that at any other salon! I have had my hair blown out at places that are very small like Leonardo's in RVC, and places that are very large like Nubest in Manhasset. I have NEVER been treated so disrespectfully BY THE OWNER!! After 6+ years of going to the the same "luxury" salon and enduring mediocre haircuts for exuberant prices, I said no more and brought myself to Yelp and found Nanshua's Beauty Bar. Nanshua brought me back to feeling comfortable with having someone cut my hair again. (Yes, I was traumatized by a really bad haircut pre-Nanshua.) I am not looking back. Going to her to get your haircut makes you feel GOOD. I don't only mean the "frick yea I am supporting a female entrepreneur" good but ALSO the "frick yea she knows what she is actually doing and I don't have to worry about looking like an idiot when I walk out of here good."
